I used to eat at HuHot at least once every two weeks when they first opened. Unfortunately, things have changed and for some reason, my husband and I stopped going. Tonight, I was reminded of why we stopped coming in the first place. The prices have been raised from $ 9.99, an unlimited dinner to $ 11.99, and now $ 13.99. Not only is it expensive to eat here now, the service is despicable! I am very disappointed. We were helped by Nick, who was a very nice gentleman, but didn’t seem to like his job very much. He wasn’t very helpful and was extremely forgetful. I asked him for two bowls of hot and sour soup and rice and we received one bowl of soup. We asked for another bowl and if he could bring the rice and we waited. and waited. and it never came. Finally, when I was at the grill, my husband had asked again(for the third time) if we could have soup and rice… and once again… it never came. Keep in mind the restaurant was not busy at all and he was serving two tables. It was extremely frustrating having to experience that. Overall, the food was okay. I was only able to eat two plates of noodles before I decided that I’ve had enough of noodles(.and no soup and rice) for one day and we left. What a disappointing experience for a place I used to enjoy.

There are better mongolian grills in the area to visit. HuHot is where we end up when no one can decide or wants to decide what to eat, and we don’t want to eat in the food court or surrounding restaurants, and the movie time is fast approaching, and the vegetarians in the group demand vegetables. I do like that the vegetables are fresh and the noodles are decent. The meat is frozen and quite thin. It is not of great quality, either. The vegetables are chopped into quite large pieces. I just don’t think it is worth the $ 13/dinner value, even if it is unlimited buffet. Both times we have come here, the tables have been sticky and dirty, the floor dirty, the ledges full of dirt and dust, and the place looks neglected. The hostess took 5 minutes to greet us as the line built up, and the server did not take the time to explain the buffet line /cooking concept to the guests in our party that had not been there before. Both times we have went the servers messed up our check and overcharged big time, so please check your check and check yo’self. The server disappeared for long periods of time, and despite asking for waters, it took a few times of asking before receiving them. We also had to wait a long time for the check. Pretty much the only thing about the experience I enjoyed was watching the friendly cooks cook up my meal on the large grill. Oh, and they have a limited beer & wine selection.

Fun and entertaining meal. Not the best food ever, certainly not $ 14.95 quality, but decent for unlimited buffet style. The waitress was nice and attentive. The cooks were entertaining and timely. The ambiance is … diner style… not great. I did like that they had a wide selection of food to choose from. Lots of different meat and seafood options. Lots of veggie options and LOTS of sauces. We had a BOGO coupon, which is probably why we went, and probably won’t go back unless we get another one. There’s too many other mongolian grills out there with better quality.

They are very accommodating for anyone with food allergies, and recently have changed all their sauces to gluten free. The service is a bit sub-par — when it comes to wait staff — but the guys preparing the food make up for where the service in the front of the house is lacking. The guys working the grill scrub the grill down for you and make sure your food is protected from cross-contamination when they see a ‘blue’ bowl, which signals food allergies. IFYOUHAVEFOODALLERGIES — ask for the blue bowl and ask the hostess or server what you can have depending on your allergy. The owner is usually in house and is always pleasant, wanting to make sure his guests are taken care of. My only tip for him is to make sure his servers are pro-active versus being reactive. And even that isn’t a big deal… So I had to wait for my water a bit longer than I should have. So what? The food is awesome and we left full, satisfied, and everyone was breathing. WE didn’t have to pull out an Epi-pen. That’s a plus in my book.

While their main competitor has an edge with non-frozen meats, eggs, etc. the value at HuHot can’t be beat. There is a array of proteins and vegetables to choose from. A multitude of sauces are at your fingertips. The service is decent and the 100+ drink choices are nice. The«chefs» who mainly just turn your food on the hot iron grill aren’t the friendliest, but they do their job. The rice was overcooked when we came. Very dry, almost too hard to eat. Normally I opt for more proteins and vegetables and bypass the noodles. My second plate I chose to partake in the noodles and skip the rice altogether. I’ve been before and had appetizers and desserts. This was a quick lunch round and we happened to be the first in the restaurant. There are at least 10 other parties here, so it can’t be that bad.

Not so great. Food on the floor near the cashier station by the restroom, it didn’t get cleaned for the duration of our meal. Employees were walking around it. The service was really slow. Two plates from the grill was done way before my child’s Mac’n Cheese.(Keep in mind this is my first time here and it took awhile to create my food) The rice felt like rocks in my mouth. I like the layout of the restaurant. Good variety of ingredients. Customer Service and Cleanliness, needs improvement. First impressions magnified all the negatives.

First time here, but we have eaten at Genghis Grill. Me and my wife are healthy eaters and don’t like our cheat meals to be totally destructive so this place is a winner. They have unlimited bowl options so you can load up on whatever protein or carb you want! I tried two different combinations and enjoyed both. We had the crab rangoons as a sampler and they were crisp and sweet. They also offer a wide selection of drinks from the Coke 100 flavor machine. The only improvement I would make would be a self service drink option. Our server was super informative and friendly. We’ll definitely be returning again, and we wish there was one in Moore

There was clearly no manager on staff. Even though they claim to be open till 10pm on Fridays, they start shutting down at 8:30. At 9:20 they shut down cooking any food. At 9:35 you are brought your check whether you want dessert or not. Terrible attitude for a restaurant that we otherwise enjoy.

This a must visit place. Great for before the movies or just for a nice dinner. The drink choices include a sugar free flavored ginger ale which is hard to find. I enjoy the large sitting space as I have yet to be there when it was overly crowded. You get to put whatever ingredients you want into the bowl and then flavoring sauces over that to take to the big grill. Trial and error, fun and experimental combinations are the name of the game. Mix and match to your heart’s content. Go back and get more, as it is all you can eat. How is that for fun? Take groups and/or a date. Taste each other’s creations. Really a great place for adults and kids alike as there are so many options.

I have never written a bad review about a place on here, the staff were friendly and nice, the food was good for a buffet. The problem was the owner. I have a particular diet I follow and I was waiting on the staff to refill the beef after a few of the other patrons had emptied it. The owner, who I did not know was at the time, proceeded to have an attitude with me and ask if «I eat a lot of beef?». I’m still not sure if that was supposed to be a weight joke or one based on what some would assume to be my religious beliefs. He then proceeded on with some bs line like they’re the only buffet in town with beef. Well basically Golden Corral, any Chinese buffet and Genghis grill have it and I would recommend it over this bigoted place. Especially if you’re avoiding pork or cheap aquarium fish like they want to serve, and no I’m not eating chicken for the $ 40 they charge for 2. Bottom line, you never talk to a customer that way, if you have nothing good to say, shut up or if you are too cheap to serve an item then don’t.

They have clear gluten free items which means I can rest easy that my family can eat without threat of allergies. I love that they freeze their meats on the food bar, so no raw meat juices drip all over the other items. The only constructive feedback I’d give is their booths and carpet aren’t always the cleanest.

We drove to this HuHot despite living in Moore because of how disappointing Genghis Grill is, but sadly this HuHot didn’t really deliver either. I realize that not all locations are going to carry the full food bar menu, but the protein selection was rather meager. Chicken, pork, beef, hot or mild sausage. The only seafood was generic whitefish Paddock, mussels, Krab, and calamari. The HuHot website lists at length all of the seafood options a HuHot might have. Paddock isn’t even an option, though I guess it’s just a replacement for Cod. This HuHot doesn’t have Shrimp or Tilapia much less salmon — and certainly not Mahi Mahi, Swordfish, or especially Hallibut. I drove a half hour to eat at this location specifically because of how excited I was to have seafood. When I asked the staff if they ever had any other meats on the line — I was told that never happens. I did see a sign for shrimp, but I was told to not expect to get much because even though it’s once a week there’s almost none put out. Every Chinese buffet with a hibachi station in town has shrimp every day of the week, but this HuHot only has it once a week — and apparently it’s a small amount. I would easily — and very happily — go in on a special«Seafood Night» where there was a plethora of seafood options. I’d gladly pay a higher price for a «Seafood Night» as well because I realize that this is Oklahoma and seafood is going to cost more. But to be told over the phone«Oh yes we have seafood» and then come to the restaurant to only see less offerings than what Genghis Grill has… is saddening. Beyond this the experience was rather unremarkable. We had to ask our waitress to obtain soup or salad since it wasn’t offered — the soup was delivered at room temperature. We always had to ask for refills on the soda as well. The food on the hibachi was constantly overcooked to the point the cooks were having to scrape it off. I know you’re supposed to add 5 spoonfuls of sauce to make sure this doesn’t happen, but I filled my bowl so full of liquid that it was near spilling — they still burned it. I went for several extra bowls and the same result each time. I had sincerely looked forward to this all week as a date night for my girlfriend and I. We were both sorely disappointed.

My boyfriend and I often stop in here before a movie, and they recently had a Groupon up so I pounced on it. It’s not blow your head off amazing, but it’s pretty much an unlimited build-your-own buffet for $ 12. Anytime we’ve gone, the service is fine. There’s always plenty of meat, noodle and veggie options to choose from to build your bowl, and usually not a super long wait to get it all cooked and put together. I think this is a great family place; I’ve seen kids in here a lot who just love to watch the chefs cook on the grill right in front of them. It also seems like they have a lot of good specialty nights… I think when we last went in on a Sunday night, it was 25% off with a college ID. They also had date night, kids’ night, etc. specials. The only thing I don’t like is when the place first opened, they left a little container of probably 50 to 100 cards on your table that had«recipes» for different sauces. Those are gone now and the only recipes are the ones listed by the sauces, and only about five or six are listed. We really liked the suggestions and miss them when we go in now. If you don’t want teriyaki or sweet and sour, it can be difficult to know how to mix the sauces to make something that tastes good!

Okay so I still agree with my previous review that I love HuHot because of all of the sauce choices you have, but I’ve built up my love for HuHot in my head more than anything. The thing about HuHot is that the food from the buffet is good and fresh, but other areas of this establishment are truly lacking. It pretty much feels like you’re at a Mongolian version of Chili’s. I’ve had mixed experiences with service, but it’s usually not that great. They almost always forget to bring the side of rice with your dinner portion, not that you need it anyway but still! I like the ability to create my own unique stir fry combinations but I can’t say that I actually enjoy eating here anymore.

Oh HuHot, you are a restaurant which earns high marks with disappointing qualifying statements. Such a solid idea, but«if only» mars the review. To start with the beverages, they have a magical drink machine of wonderful complexity, simplicity, and potential. The Coke Freestyle machine in all of its glory, hidden away where the servers provide the drinks and we do not form long lines contemplating our choices and shuffling in fear of such technology. Faced with an unlimited wall of(sadly HFCS) sweet glory, I chose… Peach Fanta. Seriously, it’s just hard enough to find Peach Fanta that it is desirable, yet it is just easy enough to find that it does not require a serious search. I am fairly sure this is done on purpose. Next up, the soup. Soup comes with dinner. Hooray, another hot and sour soup to taste, critique, and cry over when it disappoints me! Oh wait, it’s not that disappointing. It’s actually not terrible. Almost, dare I say it, good? Well, it’s a bit thin and the taste isn’t quite to my preference, but unlike your typical Chinese buffet, it has some flavor. Don’t go out of your way for the soup, but it’s worth trying if you’re there for the dinner menu. The food itself is where things are a real mix. It’s all obviously frozen rather than letting room temperature raw meat sit out in the buffet. The meat is not of particularly high quality either, especially the beef. I skipped the seafood, but the pork and sausage were decent. The vegetables and tofu are pretty standard. The sauces, this is where you have fun. About a dozen different blended sauces and about a dozen extra options from sherry to garlic oil to chili sauce await in little ladles ready for your own taste to take over. If you aren’t the type to experiment, you won’t get quite as much out of the sauces. Rest assured, this is what takes the food from unimpressive to quite enjoyable. Expect small bowls. The meat and some veggies cook down, so the plates will not be as full as you expect. Pacing out your food leads to eating less, so it’s a smart tactic on the part of the chain. Meanwhile, it is still all you can eat, so don’t worry about being cheated. You will still leave as stuffed as you like. I’d be a bit more critical of the food, but it is a restaurant inside a mall, the sauce makes up for unimpressive meat, and the service was quite solid, very attentive sorts in there. HuHot is a chain, it’s a chain that is at home having a location in a mall, but when you’re prepared for that, this one fills the spot admirably well enough.

The first time I went for lunch, they didn’t have shrimp(but they did have fish, squid, crab, etc.). The second time I went for lunch, they did have shrimp. The third time, again they had shrimp. After the third time, I realized that I needed help. I recommend that you ignore all of the recipe cards(at your table) that people have submitted to HH’s website(or something). They’re awful. Every single one I’ve tried has left me feeling regret(and annoyance). You’ll have a better meal by closing your eyes and pointing at random sauces than by trying the boring sauce combinations suggested by people from Minnesota(or something). On that note, my previously mentioned recipe is still the best thing I’ve created(thus far), so here it is again: 1. Pick the vegetables of choice. I suggest onions, green peppers, and mushrooms at the very least. 2. Pick the meats of choice. The pork is pretty legit. Avoid the fish, only because it’s watery and breaks down and doesn’t add anything to the meal. 3. Pick the carbs of choice. Or just avoid them altogether because they bring steamed white rice to your table if you prefer that. 4. Add one ladle of Khan’s favorite sauce 5. Add one ladle of Five Village Fire Szechuan(if you like heat). 6. Add one ladle of Black Thai Peanut. 7. Add one ladle of Bekter’s Ginger. 8. Add two ladles of Yellow Belly Curry. 9. Cry a little because you ended up at a buffet… Again… I’ve mentioned this before but I’m going to mention it again: HuHot is not more expensive than Genghis Grill. It’s significantly cheaper. Also, I just realized that every time I’ve been to HuHot, it’s been with a group of 15+ people. So I blame peer pressure. Yeah, that’s why I go there so often…

Ok seriously it is a Mongolian Grill. It’s not as good as BD’s, but it’s better than Genghis. They have unlimited bowls, which I love, because I like to eat, but not as many options as I’d like for meats and veg. It’s not terribly expensive, so it’s one of our go to spots when we’re too lazy to cook or think of something we both want. I personally really enjoy getting a dessert bowl at the end of my meal– noodles with pineapple, with citrus and ginger sauces, dusted with coconut. The one time we had a real dessert there, it wasp retty meh-ish. Fun thing: you get soup with your meal! And that soup is pretty tasty! YES! Other than that… geez, it’s a Mongolian Grill, people, what else is there to put in the review?

The only possible reason I would down this a star is because of the –somewhat– limited meat choices, BUT that’s because it was lunch time. Their website clearly states that they have a much larger selection at dinner. I’m not seeing where the more negative reviews are coming from, but it’s probably a matter of taste. I personally think that HuHot is on par with Genghis Grill, but trumps them ever slightly with price. My advice to those who are used to Genghis Grill: The bowls are smaller, so do not pack it on there! It’s unlimited so just fit what you can and go back for more. It’s so trashy to have things drop on the floor because you’re preparing for a famine or something! Also unlike GG, the sauce goes directly in your food, so avoid spillage. I have a little system, actually. Jeff M. mentions his own system which is good! But I have a slightly altered one. 1.) Go for your veggies first. They are much easier to pack down. 2.) Go for your carbs(noodles or rice) 3.) NOW do your SAUCE. Doing this before your meats makes the process cleaner and easier. You can pour it in without causing a possible sauce tornado. I mixed peanut sauce, ginger sauce, and lime juice which went well with the krab meat. 4.) Meat! As far as service goes, we were seated promptly and our server was attentive. His name is Poya, if I recall. How cute, right?
