There comes a time when even the best provider is no longer worth your time. I work in healthcare and I do not recommend the perinatal center of Oklahoma Norman location. First off you will wait a long time. When I say a long time I mean easily over an hour. Also their waiting area is so cramped that if another pregnant woman came in my husband was worried he would have to give up his seat. It seems they schedule that many patients on purpose and then tell you that it could take up to two hours wait which in their uncomfortable waiting area seems like an eternity. I went four times(30 minutes to 1 hour wait all other times) and the last time I could visibly see my ankles swelling because of the uncomfortable chairs so I asked how long it would be(it had already been an hour) and they said at least another 25 minutes. I was understandably frustrated. If I am told there is going to be a longer than normal wait or at least informed upon arrival I will wait patiently. Upon checking in I would have probably rescheduled if told about the long wait. Instead I was put in a room to wait because they had labeled me a trouble maker. I refused my blood pressure because I know at that point it was very high(brought documentation from OB appointment just a few hours before) and after that was treated very badly. They woman that did my ultrasound scolded me for being inpatient and reminded me that what they do is very important. Believe me, I know, I have lost a baby due to a heart defect. She was very short with me and then hurt me during the procedure. She pressed extremely hard and not wanting to upset her further I didn’t say anything. Once she saw the grimace on my face she insincerely apologized stating that the baby was very low. Then she hurried through the rest of the ultrasound. She hated me so much that she didn’t even do the 4d option that I have been able to see each time I was in. She printed me horrible hurried pictures and said something superficial before she left the room like, I hope you have a good rest of your pregnancy, which at this point was transparent and insincere. So the one time the 4d pictures would have been optimal and revealed exactly what my baby will look like she didn’t do it because she was, I don’t know, teaching me a lesson about not expecting good customer service from a healthcare establishment.(I provide great customer service to my patients each day) It would have been nice to at least receive the level of care that put them so far behind in the first place. The only reason I did not rate this operation a 1 star is because of the doctor. He was kind, understanding, thorough, and gentle. If he had better staff and better scheduling then I am sure his clinic would be a beaming example of superb patient care.

I was referred to Dr. Mirabile for genetic testing(at our request) and growth scans when I found out I was pregnant. We went to his office at Baptist when I was 12 weeks along. His staff was courteous and the sonographers took there time and didn’t make you feel rushed at all. Then Dr. Mirabile came in, introduced himself, told us what to expect, and redid the entire ultrasound, walking us through every step. He gave us a good amount of time, and never once made us feel rushed. We’ve now been to his office 3 times, at both the Baptist and Norman locations, and our experiences there were excellent each time. I highly recommend Dr. Mirabile!

Follow up: I got a call from Dana in the billing department who said they were extremely sorry with the way I had been treated and told me they have revised their whole billing process to help ladies like me. I appreciate that! Glad that no other ladies will have these problems again!
