Precision Door Service

I had a couple of garage door issues, so I called a company (that shall remain nameless) on a Thursday night. They were closed, so I left a message. By noon the next day I had not received a callback, so back to Unilocal for a second shot. I called Precision at noon on Friday, and I was given a window of 5 – 7 that evening. I received an email confirming the appointment, as well as giving me 3 pictures of potential technicians that would be coming. I appreciated the confirming email and letting me know who would be arriving.
Around 4:30 I was called by the technician (he was included in the email, so I knew what he’d look like) advising they were en route. This was appreciated. 2 guys arrived shortly after 5:00. They worked on the opener for only about 30 minutes, if that long. Additionally, they conducted an «inspection» of the door itself. I was sure they were doing this in an attempt to upsell me, but they offered no additional services other than what I ordered. So, I apparently the inspection was legitimate and not just an excuse to add on additional items.
The reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is there is a $ 49.95 call charge. This is fine, but with other contractors, I have seen this charge, or at least a portion of it, applied toward the services received. If they come out and perform no work, then you absolutely should get charged the service call charge. But, I think that the charge, or at least a portion thereof, should be applied against work performed. That was not the case with Precision. So, I had to pay $ 50 for the privilege of them coming out, then pay for the actual parts/​labor. In the future, I would call them again, but I will probably look for a company with a little better policy regarding the service charge if I have the time. But, the guys were friendly, worked quickly, and arrived at the beginning of the window. A little flexibility on the service charge and I would have given 5 stars.

From the consultation to installation Precision Door could not have been more professional. Speedy installation, the new door looks great!

I asked when I called for the price of two front springs installed, didn’t answer my question. Installer, nice guy quoted me $ 350. I called ace door company installled springs today, Saturday. I payed extra for Saturday install and yet total was &. 214.75
