Pros: a different experience EVERYTIME, friendly staff, free pool, wide reaching jukebox selection(can be a Con too), cheap drinks, generally fun/friendly patrons, random live music, you can call this place Dicks which is fun, or get Richtarded Cons: liquor portioning/dispensing system. That’s it.

Old-timey dive bar for sure. Richard’s is cheap, dirty and fun. Now, you may not always associate those adjectives together to equal a fun time, but believe me, this is exactly what Richard’s is. I know some of the bartenders who are members of a local rock band and they are very friendly! Good service, bit of an older crowd, brand new jukebox! Cool little place.

Richard’s is a classic Dive Bar. Depending on the night of the week and the crowd, the mood can change, but the atmosphere usually tends to be laid back. The mixed drinks are cheap and the bartenders keep them flowing. The jukebox is a perfect example of the clubs frequenters you can listen to Sonic Youth or the Cure to your hearts content some evenings, but beware that doesn’t mean that someone won’t spend an hour playing Kid Rock and singing along if they beat you to it, because it’s happened to me. As long as your surrounded by plenty of good company while your there you can power through. I really never know what I’m going to see at Richard’s, I’ve been there when someone got arrested(they looked mean), I’ve been there for random Karaōke evening(that included hola-hoops and gangster rapping), and I’ve been there when no one was there but my group of friends a few pool sharks(kind of ideal), it’s worth trying a few times especially if you’re already in the neighborhood. Breakdown: Good Jukebox selection(that can also be used to play a lot of really awful music as well), pool tables, strong mixed drinks, iffy-iffy scene, definite dive, but entertaining. Bring lots of friends!
