My favorite Vietnamese sandwich shop in Oklahoma City. The prices are cheap and the old lady that works there is so nice.

Sandwiches now cost $ 3 a a piece effective 2÷26÷13 It’s been so long since my first-second-third, etc visit and was disappointed to see this. I’m guessing lil’ lady saw how much the bakery across the street was charging. Supply and demand. Final note– The #1 Dac Biet sandwich is the only one I really like. Also, it’s best to eat the bread right away or else it doesn’t taste that great. I think she nooks the bread in a toaster or microwave before serving it to you.

Are you kidding me OKC?! This is the best banh mi you got?! Maybe it was an off day but this is the worst banh mi I’ve ever had! Got 3 sandwiches at 10am. Bread was def day old bread, not crusty or fresh at all. Skimpy on the veggies and the butter-mayo spread. BBQ pork was pretty flavorless and drenched in sauce. Sandwiches were just overall offensive and not worth the stomach space. I really wanted to go to lee’s for banh mi redemption but J stopped me. Truly disappointed.

Coming from the Houston area, I’ve had the opportunity to try out a fair number of Vietnamese sandwich shops. Being a big fan of BBQ pork bahn mi, it was definitely on my list of priorities upon arrival in OKC to find a comparable sandwich spot. Saigon Baguette is… ok. If I could I would give it an extra half star just for the service. The shop was a bit tricky to find… kind of. It’s got a giant milk-bottle on top, and one door into the building is for a bail bonds place. The entrance literally looks like a side door. It’s VERY small. They only do to-go orders and take cash. The sandwiches are made to order and are $ 2.50 each, an order of spring rolls is $ 3.00. They also have a selection of sodas and Asian beverages for sale. The woman working there was very nice, which unfortunately as a white female patron with an addiction to Vietnamese food this can be a difficult quality to find in a shop sometimes! :p I ordered a #3 — BBQ pork. The bread is warm and definitely fresh, with a crunchy crush and soft center, just the way it should be. The meat is okay, I didn’t care for the pickled onions(?) and jalapenos on it. The red glaze was kind of weird, I’ve seen it used on other Vietnamese meats but not pork. Overall it tasted ok, but it definitely wasn’t outstanding nor the best sandwich I’ve ever had ever. It’s enough to satiate my bahn mi cravings but I’ll definitely savor the good stuff when I’m in Houston.

With all the high ratings I’d hate to be the only one with the low rating score for this place. I ordered the #4(Pork Sub, Banh Mi Gio) as you can see in the picture that I uploaded. The sandwich was ok but it wasn’t anything stellar. On top of that, the sandwich didn’t come with any radish pickles, carrots, and the other usual ingredients that you typically would get. The old lady that works here seems nice but I wasn’t really into the sandwiches. Maybe I’ll give this place another try some day.

This is a def hole in the wall type of place owned by a sweet old lady!!! she makes the fresh sandwiches herself!!! I love these places instead of the megacorp Lees sandwiches down the street. the sandwiches here are BETTER than Lee’s. The meat she puts in is much better. THEEGGROLLSARETODIEFOR! Im freaking asian(meaning ive had a lot of egg rolls in my life) and these are the best egg rolls ive had in my life. Saigon Baguette is a quirky little take-out vietnamese sandwich shop that inhabits the old«Milk Bottle» on Classen. Their wall menu advertises five different sandwiches, egg rolls and spring rolls. I’ve only had the Chicken Sandwich(#2) and the BBQ Pork Sandwich(#3), so I can’t comment on everything, but what I’ve had was not only excellent, but was cheap to boot! I’m not positive, but I think all the sandwiches are $ 2.50 each. If you like you can also try the unusual assortment of canned drinks from the cooler. They stock aloe vera juice, agave juice, iced coffees of all kinds as well as the usual stuff.

If I want to show someone how cheap and wonderful Oklahoma City is, I take them to Saigon Baguette. It is located in the historic Braum’s milk bottle building in what is now our Asian District. «Yes that’s right, we get Banh Mi here with fresh ingredients and fresh bread handmade for you my two Vietnamese women, wrapped in wax paper for just two dollars.» If your guests are not impressed with this experience send them home(there’s no winning them over at this point.) Saigon Baguette is a metaphor for what I love about Oklahoma City, I’d expand but I’d rather you just contemplate it for yourself.

I got a lot of food for $ 5. The bread was fresh and crunchy. I ordered one #1, but for some reason was given two of them. Definately an upgrade from subway or quiznos.

These are the best Vietnamese Baguettes in the world, as far as I know. And for only $ 2.00 a sandwich tax included you can eat there 5 times a day, if you want.

Excellent. So Cheap I had to argue with the nice lady because I thought she didn’t understand I wanted two sandwhiches. Get the special, or the pork, or the meatball, or one of each. Excellent change from your normal lunch fare, and speedy to boot.

This place is so incredible and cheap. Only take cash. Their spring rolls are probably the best I’ve ever had. The small atmosphere and the people working there are great. When I lived in okc I would go there for lunch oftrn. It is rout up the street from ocu and makes for a great lunch.

I like the #1 combo, the grilled pork, and roast pork sandwiches. This place is cheap and tasty beyond belief. Every sandwich is $ 2!

cheap as hell, and so SO good. we grabbed about 8 of the combo sammies to take with us on a road trip, and that nummy baguette held up all the way from OK city to santa fe. perfect spice from the pâté and jalapeño, perfect umami with the pickled veg and big ol’ slab o’ headcheese. don’t miss out on this spot, nestled into the most awkward and potentially dangerous intersection!

Incredible value. The baguette alone would be worth $ 2. My favorite is the chicken – just the right amount of seasonings.

They have great sandwiches here. I usually get the dac biet or special one that has several types of meat, pâté and veggies. I’ve also enjoyed the vietnamese barbecue pork one. They are so cheap that you can order one of each and split with a few friends.
