I’m a guy, and I moved to OKC last Spring. The same girl had cut my hair in Tulsa for the previous 12 years, so obviously I had to find a new place to get my haircut in OKC. Even though my haircuts are not complicated, I don’t like walk-​in places where you get someone different each time. I’ve had bad luck with that in the past. It’s a crap shoot more often than not. After visiting several barbers/​salons (Salon 9309, Dragon Fly, etc) around the Northside of OKC over several months, I just didn’t find a place/​barber/​stylist I could go back to over and over.
I finally made an appointment with Tina at Schardein’s, who was selected for me by the receptionist. Of course I can’t speak about women’s hair, but Tina is the best barber/​stylist for men’s hair I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. She’s extremely professional, has a great personality, and a NINJA with a straight razor that can only come from education and tons of practice. She doesn’t use scissors at all to cut my hair, just the razor, and it results in the best haircuts I’ve ever had, BY FAR. Again, my hair’s fairly easy. I keep it short and it’s hard to mess up a haircut on me, but her technique doesn’t leave the «fresh cut» look for a week after I leave. Perfect.
The inside of the salon is very elegant and classy, but not at all stuffy. There are clients of every demographic each time I visit including women and men. The prices can escalate for their expertise looking at their «menu» of available services, but in my experience, you definitely get what you pay for at Schardein’s. Since my hair’s easy, I pay $ 40 total, including a 35−40% tip, which is what I consider standard for a good barber/​stylist. Very on point with the other top salons in Oklahoma price wise… and in my opinion, a STEAL since Tina’s the best. I won’t see anyone else going forward.

I see Olivia and she’s fantastic! I’m a terrible client, «oh, just make it look better,» and she always does. It’s not terribly expensive and the wine is free!

The service at Schardein’s is phenomenal! Not only is your hairstylist worried about your satisfaction, but everyone there works as a team. I had an immediate good vibe being greeted at the front desk.
Tina does great work there. It has always been easy to communicate what I would like to be done with my hair whether I am coming in to freshin’ up my hair or for a full service cut and color.
Her availability has always been compatible with my schedule, very easy to get an appointment.
Their products they use are top of the line. I always know what they are using on my hair and the benefits it has on my style.
They are knowledgeable about the latest fashion trends and can help guide you to a better image of yourself. I love that Schardein’s is a one stop shop. I can go in and get anything from a spray tan, waxing, mani/​pedi and be all around pleased.
Did i mention the environment? Its fun and relaxed. Nothing better than enjoying a glass of wine while a stylist makes you feel better about yourself. I love this place. Won’t go anywhere else.

I have been going to Schardein’s religiously for the past 9 months. Olivia, my stylist, is awesome.
I chose Schardein’s because it was close to my home and super convenient, but I stay a loyal customer because of the people there and because of the relationship that I’ve built with Olivia. I’ve never ventured far from my natural color, dark brown, but this summer I decided that I wanted to be blonde. Olivia took great care not to damage my hair throughout the process and it looked great!
Recently, I’ve decided to go back brunette and my hair looks fantastic. Your hair is an investment, a lot of times it the first thing that people notice about you. You can trust Schardein’s to make sure that you make a great first impression. :)

AWFULLLL VISIT
appointment was at 3 didn’t see my stylist until 3:45 she didn’t say sorry or anything for the wait.
PAID 170.00 for a level 5 specialist and they had a TRAINEE do most of my hair. The specialist did the highlights very quickly because she had another client waiting and left the rest of it to the trainee who never colored blonde hair before. The trainee didn’t leave the glaze in long enough and kept having to ask other people if my hair was ready. I had to leave my head in the sink for 2 hours straight which hurt my neck while the trainee fixed my hair since the color didn’t come out right and kept having to go back and forth with lori since she was with another appointent to see if she was doing the right glaze/​toner when lori was suppose to be doing my hair since that is who I was paying for. The color looked okay when the trainee was styling it in their lighted station but as soon as i stepped outside it looked yellow and extremely brassy which is the opposite of what I wanted. I was tired of being there since i was already there for 4 hours so I just left and I am going to find another stylist to fix it!
SCREW THIS PLACE

I never knew Schardein’s was even here until I started shopping at A1 Pet Emporium in the same center. I was looking for a new salon, and Schardein’s was 1 of 5 that I called for prices. After reading the reviews and checking out their website, I called and booked an appt w/​Olivia for a haircut. I am so glad I did! The salon is ultra chic, very clean, use & sell top notch products like Goldwell & KMS; and most importantly, the stylists ask you what you want, and they really listen. I booked my next appt for a cut & color w/​Olivia before I left.

I have seen a lot of different stylists all over the US but This has been my best experience thus far. I see Tess at Schardein & co and have also started bringing my kids to her. Shes is amazing with color and works miracles on hair. I went from dark to light and it was perfect and my hair was healthy as ever. I can’t see myself ever going to another salon ever again! This review is for the fabulous Malissa Osbourne. Never have I been so happy entering and exiting a salon. Rather than fearing what my cut and color is going to look like, I literally put my full faith in her. With thick, unmanageable hair, I need someone who knows how to cut and thin it so it lays well. She has never let me down. She has a skill with color like I have never seen and what makes her so awesome is her absolute love for hair. She makes me excited for every appointment because she has so much enthusiasm.
If you are unhappy with your cut or your color (actually even if you’re happy with it), make an appointment with her! It will be the best hair decision you’ve ever made!

This review is for Hector specifically. I’ve been going to him for over a year now and I’ve always been very satisfied. He’s the sort of person who really cares whether or not you’re happy, and works hard to make you happy. Personable, kind, funny, and attentive. Due to his stellar work and easy-​going personality, he’s in high demand. What’s really useful, I think, is that he has an art background in addition to knowing hair. When it comes to coloring, especially blondes, this can’t be underestimated. You need an artist AND a scientist to do hair, and he is definitely both. Book him now before he becomes one of those way-​expensive master stylists that are impossible to meet with!!!

I love Schardein and co! Brooke Pickett is the best and is worth the drive from Norman. Everyone i refer her to loves her as well. I am looking forward to my next appointment.

I desperately needed to get my hair dyed on a Monday after work, and after some Unilocaling, this seemed to be the best (or basically only) option that was open late that day. The receptionist was super helpful and got me fit in when I called in the morning of, and the atmosphere of the salon was nice. My hairdresser was also super nice, and I really enjoyed him as a person! Unfortunately, though, he didn’t really seem to pay attention to what I said I wanted. Despite telling him where I wanted color to go (a couple of times), he just put it in one of the several spots I asked for. I didn’t realize it until it was completely done, and unfortunately I am very non-​confrontational and I always need a little processing time, so I didn’t say anything. I will probably schedule a followup appointment soon, though, to get it fixed — so hopefully I will be able to up the stars soon because I really do *want* to like this place!

It’s so seldom that I see a salon even half so tastefully appointed and wonderfully staffed as Steve Schardein’s. It’s clean, well lighted and filled with professionals who are dedicated to their work. Highly recommended.

I travel 300 days per year and I have gotten my hair done all over the country. I am also very picky about everything the stylist does to my hair. I have never left a place so happy about my hair as I did when I left Schardein and Company. Not only was the girl very knowledgeable and obviously more than qualified to do the job, she was friendly, and was great about making suggestions and didn’t push products on me like most salons, I even ended up buying a product from her that I could not be more happy with.
I have been blond for my whole life but I’m no longer natural blond. A lot of places that have dyed my hair in the past have used obviously sub par products compared to Schardein and company because my hair would always get a brassy or orange tint to it after a few weeks. The products they used at Schardein and company were top notch, my hair color stayed looking good well beyond the time I was ready for a touch up. The salon is busy and the staff is all about making sure you are pampered. They offer wine, champagne, and soft drinks free of charge while you wait for your hair to set.
So after all the wonderful things I have had to say about this place you are wondering why only 4 stars? It was a little on the pricey side, I payed $ 200 (including tip) for highlights and a few low-​lights. The outcome of the hair was so great the price would not stop me from returning. Also toward the end of my visit the stylist got pretty busy and had someone else, wash my hair, and style it and I did not see her the last hour that I was there. All in all this is a great place to get your hair done. I will most definitely be going back.
