I am very happy to have found Cyntia at Serenity Massage. I was on a search for a new massage therapist after repeated cancellations and a difficult schedule from my much loved usual therapist. After seeing a friend’s Facebook post raving about Cyntia I decided to call and make an appointment. I was able to get an appointment relatively quickly. After a bit of paperwork and talking about my needs I was taken to my massage room. Though the studio is small it is very nice and clean, complete with warm colors and low lighting. One feature that I like is a switch for clients to flip when they are positioned on the massage table to notify the therapist that they are ready. Shortly after flipping the switch Cyntia comes in and begins to work her magic. I am someone who likes extremely deep tissue massage($ 60/hour), so I can’t really say the massage is relaxing, but I wouldn’t expect to be. Cyntia takes the time with my muscle areas needing work and really gets them to release. I am so impressed by what she is able to accomplish. She offers many helpful suggestions like stretches and aromatherapy to prevent my muscles from relapsing. From visiting with her I learned she has been a therapist for many years so I have no doubt she can work on anyone. She seems to really enjoy what she does and is very professional, which I appreciate. I only have two complaints: First, she seems to engage in conversation with clients more than other therapists I have seen. I am friendly and make small talk at first, often to help ease my nerves(after all, I am laying naked on a table), but after a while I would like to just be able to relax. After seeing her several times though we have developed a rapport and always find things to talk about. Secondly, there have been a couple times she has shorted me on time. Once she told me she had done it and didn’t charge me the full amount but other times she has shorted me 5 – 10 minutes and never said anything. I have a friend who goes to her and had the same complaint. I just feel like it is important to provide the full time a client is paying for(unless the client is late, of course) or be up front about why you can’t. It is an awkward topic to bring up, so I just haven’t yet. Both of my complaints are small and I am very happy to recommend Cyntia at Serenity Massage to anyone. She is great at what she does, in a convenient location by the highway, and professional. What more could I want?
