On the eve of new year’s eve(yeah, I’ve been meaning to write this for awhile!) I got a call from a really exciting potential employer inviting me to an interview on the 2nd in Dallas. Tans make me confident, confidence makes me a better interviewer, a better interview ostensibly leads to gainful employment. Yay! The problem? I was in OKC visiting family, which is approximately 200 miles from my favorite airbrush tan salon. Oh yeah, and it was during one of the busiest times for spray tans of the year. Fortunately, I found Soleil. Also fortunately(for me, anyway) somebody on the books got the flu and had to cancel last minute so I got her spot. The color/application was perfect, it wasn’t sticky, and it faded perfectly naturally and evenly. Even tans from my very favorite place in Dallas tend to wear away from my chest and behind my knees first. I chalk this up to the fact that Soleil uses a natural solution. There are two different formulas that she’ll explain once you’re there – I got the basic one and, obviously, I think it was great Word to the wise: the building is easy to miss, especially since Soleil actually operates within a salon of a different name. So: I recommend giving yourself a couple minutes to spare if yo don’t know exactly what you’re looking for. I would also add that I wish they offered disposable thongs(like the ones at Victoria’s Secret that they give out for trying on swimsuits.) It’s an inexpensive addition and makes a world of a difference for folks like myself who can’t get passed the mental block of being totallllllllly naked. P. S. I love air brush tans and have been getting them in Dallas for a couple of years now. For those of you who are afraid to try them for fear that they’re similar to Versa/Mystik/whatever other machine spray tans there are now… you’re so so so(respectfully) wrong! They’re not even in the same league and you owe it to yourself to see why! P. P. S. I got the job! I’m not saying it was because of my tan but… :)

This was by far the best airbrush tan I have ever received and definitely the most knowledgeable staff! I needed a tan that would last a long time for a trip to California. I was airbrushed the day before I left town and the tan lasted a solid week! I used the tan extender that was recommended to me and after every application it was like I had just come from the beach. So awesome! And the tan looked completely natural. Not an orange tone and no streaks whatsoever. I’m getting another one in a few weeks for a friend’s wedding a can’t wait to glow again! A word of advice to anyone considering getting airbrushed here: follow the instructions given to you and do not deviate from them and you’ll be satisfied! Things like having completely clean, exfoliated skin with out lotions when you come, and not showering afterward are very important to make the tan last! You’ll love it!

It was my first time to get an airbrush tan; I wanted a little color for a special event and wanted to look natural. I found Teresa quite by accident and couldn’t have been more pleased with the entire experience. The thought of my «nudeness» while a «stranger» applied the tan was an intimidating thought. All that fell away as soon as I met Teresa, she made me feel comfortable and at ease during the application. Her technique was flawless and I loved the end result as it was very natural looking — sun kissed — just the way I wanted to look. The product did not feel sticky or have a strange odor and did not affect my fresh mani/padi. I would highly recommend Soleil Airbrush Tanning.

Oh my gosh! I love my new natural looking tan! I was reluctant to try this as I’ve been disappointed by those awful spray tan booths. This is completely different! Theresa can look at your skin, hair, and eye color to pick the perfect natural looking shade and airbrush you by hand. My skin color looks so good and natural! Also, you don’t get the weird discoloration around your hands and feet that you get with those booths and at home products. I’m so glad I found this place!

My very smart sister found this place and recommended it to me, very highly as you can read in her review. I was able to check out Soleil last week and am very satisfied with the results. If you know me, you know I’m basically a spray-tan-aholic and my preferred look is super dark, but without any skin cancer risks. But Soleil is much nicer than any spray tanning I’ve ever done. I imagine this is how celebrities feel when they get a spray tan. You’re whisked into a small, private room that’s warm and quiet. You get a nice little information session about what to expect and how it works, and then a solution is mixed especially for your skin tone and what you’re looking for in terms of cover. This is much more upscale than standing in a spray booth at a tanning mega-mart that only has different«levels» and not actual, specific tones. The airbrushing itself is quick, easy, and not sticky or smelly like the Versaspa I used for years. The airbrush is so targeted, you don’t even have to worry about your nails getting blitzed. You leave and feel like you can successfully manage your day, rather than feeling like you need to hermit away in a hovel like with most spray tans. The results have lasted for five days so far, and though I’m not as tan as I’d hoped, we had discussed this possibility, and she told me she’d rather me see this first level first and then move on to a higher level from there. I appreciate that she’d rather err on the side of not having me look like a blond tomato. When I go back, I’ll likely go a little darker because I like to look like a beach bunny; although I do think the look she gave me is probably much more natural, convincing, and less obviously a faux tan. I also love that she does a «waist up» for only $ 20 and a full body for $ 40. The waist up likely works for most of your winter needs, unless you’re actually planning on running around in the cold without tights or hitting the resort. If you were planning on doing this for a wedding, I’d suggest spending the money to get the $ 100 unlimited monthly package so you can try several different levels to perfect the exact color you were looking for.

Has anyone ever called you Casper? Told you that you blended into the white backdrop? Do you blind small children when donning shorts? Welcome to my pasty, sunblock-slathered, dermatologist on speed dial, Nicole Kidman is my homegirl universe. There isn’t a DHA-laced product I haven’t tried, nor a fake and bake place I haven’t frequented. I stopped going to the beds in college(for obvious reasons) and put a halt on the spray booth over a year ago because I started worrying what I was inhaling in those quick & dirty capsules, but I have missed the bronzed goddess look every day since. When asked to be my sweet sister’s matron of honor, my first thought was ‘hell yes!’ and my second was ‘oh hell no I won’t be that pale girl.’ Enter Theresa. I found her on Unilocal and even though I procrastinated until the week of the wedding, she fit two of us in for evening appointments. She gave us the quick rundown on the process and gave us forms to sign. I was most impressed that we requested the more expensive treatment(only waiting 2hrs vs 8 to shower) and she said«I could make more money off of that, but if you have 8 hours, I recommend that one”– what?! Who does that?! The spray tan was quick & painless and best of all, not stinky! Theresa didn’t judge my newly post-baby body and we visited the whole time so it was over before I knew it. She recommended a lotion that would ensure I got the most bang for my buck and sent me on my glowy way. I woke up the next morning with the most natural tan I have ever had, and it lasted well past the wedding. This is definitely a service that if I had a little more disposable income I would do it on the regular, but in the very least I will keep Theresa’s number for special events that make we want to stand out rather than fade into(white) background.
