Yum! Great food and service. Flour tortillas are excellent! Had the Monterey style grilled chicken. Yummy!

Next time we are in the area, we are coming back here. Their perfect margarita is PERFECT. Fill up on the salsa and queso and tortillas and the sopipillas, and take what you ordered home for a meal the next day. We loved this place so much that we are here 3 of the 4 nights we were in town. Highly recommend!

My first visit to Ted’s. 2:30pm on a Saturday and there was a 25 minute wait for a table. After eating here, I now know why this place was so busy. Food is amazing. Service is amazing. Our waiter, T.J., is amazing. When you get seated, they bring chips, salsa and cheese dip galore. Everyone gets their own bowl so no double dipping issues. Ask for tortillas. They make them fresh. You can even watch them being made if you want. Kinda cool to see. I’m a gluten free vegan. Not much on the menu to choose from for this specific diet. I asked if they could make veggie fajitas and without hesitation, it was done. They turned out to be the best veggie fajitas ever! Zucchini, squash, carrots, broccoli, onion and bell pepper. Yum. The refried beans are vegetarian. The fresh guacamole is a must! Save room after your meal for complimentary sopapillas. And if you are lucky enough to get my amazing waiter, he will bring cinnamon sugar corn chips for the gluten free people. I don’t know this for fact, but I would guess that everything on their menu is made fresh in house. Definitely deserves a 5 star rating.

Typical Tex mex. nothing real special. Not authentic Mexican at all, but I understand not everyone looks for authentic Mexican. I have found beard hair in my food before. So I’ve only been to this teds twice and the second time I just didn’t eat. The staff is friendly. I don’t have any complaints in that department. I do think the cooks shouldn’t be able to have beards though. At the restaurant I work at, all of the cooks are clean shaven and that’s the way it should be.

During trips back home to OKC, Unilocalers can find me at Ted’s! With unlimited chips, salsa, queso, and flour or corn tortilla’s its VERYEASY to get full before the main course arrives! Speaking of which, all of the plates are a meal for two unless you order the lite portion. I always order the fajitas and there’s always plenty to take back home for next day’s lunch. Last but not least, I love finishing the meal off with their sopapilla’s! Come early before your typical dinner time otherwise you’ll have to wait for me to finish before seating! hasta luego!

I love ted’s, free tortillas and queso win me over everytime, but the food is amazing too. The only downside is because its so great, its always busy. There’s usually a wait!

I love Ted’s! My biggest problem is deciding what to order. Pros: –queso and multiple types of salsa come with the chips. They make tortillas in house. I get the atomic salsa, which is amazing! I mix it with the queso to make the heat come down. They have a habanero salsa that is too hot for my tastes. -«best tacos.» I love the best tacos. They are like street tacos. –enchiladas. They make great enchiladas. I love that you can get sides instead of the traditional rice and beans. I like the papas and the grilled veggies. They actually grill the veggies, like the fajitas. They are better than most mixed veggie sides. –complimentary sopapillas. Ask for the mini variety. They are more dense and you get 4. –service. Always fast and friendly. Cons: –long wait time for a table

Stopped by Teds on a Friday night; service was okay, waiter service was/is inconsistent as the norm of a Teds restaurant. Tortillas as usual were very good. Cheese that came with the chips seemed not very fresh and wasn’t as enjoyable. Entrée food quality was good once it arrived. Overall, a decent dinner experience for those wanting Texmex on a Friday night.

Overpriced, small portions and no shrimp??! Smh sorry but I expected more than a mediocre meal for these prices. I stand corrected but first impressions are everything.

We recently moved to OKC from Northern California. Ted’s is just a short hop from our new home and we thought to give it a try since none of or kitchen boxes were unpacked yet. Can’t say enough about the wonderful friendly, attentive service and fantastic food! The salsa and quesso are wonderful… so were the chicken tacos and shredded beef chimichanga. Can’t wait to go back!

I love Ted’s. This location is almost always packed when we try to go, so they must be doing something right. Their queso is awesome, and their service is good. Beef Fajita Enchiladas are my favorite, but they have good fajitas too. Their nachos are good, but I prefer them with the shredded beef. The shredded chicken nachos aren’t as good, in my opinion, but my wife loves them. Response to Ted’s management: We have been coming to Ted’s Café since I first learned about it in 2002, I think. I can’t remember the exact year, but it was back when I lived in Brookwood Village Apartments at 89th and Western. All I can really say, with actual certainty, is that it was before 2005.

I like Teds. My parents have recently moved to OK and whenever I visit, it’s somewhere we can all agree on eating. They have all the typical Tex Mex options and offer complimentary salsa, queso, and sopapillas. It’s just solid food. Definitely not the best I’ve ever had, but for south OKC, it’s more than acceptable, especially considering the alternative options. They are good about customizing sides and sauces. The wait staff is usually good. Quick service and accurate orders. Our biggest issue is in food knowledge. The menu states that they have vegetarian options, which is great! And they do! However, we often get differing information about what is and isn’t vegetarian and even have heard different things from the kitchen, which is a little frustrating. But, we will continue to visit as it is close, and even with a wait, it tends to go quickly. We just will not be adventurous in trying new things.

Ordered a few tacos to go. My wife wanted tacos-al-carbon and then some chicken and shredded beef tacos. Tacos that my wife ordered were fine because they were made with corn tortillas. Other tacos were half & half. They were in crunchy shells. The lady who took the order didn’t clarify if I wanted crunch or soft shell tacos. If she had reminded me I would have gone with soft shell. Lots of salsa, chips, quest and tortillas were provided. Good food nonetheless — my family enjoyed it which was the goal so thank you Ted’s!

15 years or more ago, this was the place to go. It was the only Mexican restaurant anyone ever wanted to go to. Looking back, I wonder if that is just because it was well known, or one of few Mexican establishments at which to dine in the area? I was young. I don’t remember. I have visited 3 times in the recent past. I think I’ve lost that loving feeling. To me this is just a historical establishment with mediocre Mexican food. The service is not even anything to brag about. And coming at high traffic hours during the evening and weekend is just not worth the wait. I have found the exact same at other locations in the area. Perhaps they should’ve stuck with the one and only and the quality of food and service wouldn’t have deteriorated. Regardless, several other Mexican restaurants I prefer over Ted’s. This is just average food and average ambiance.

Good parking, beautiful decorative ambiance, GREAT customer service. My group came for lunch and we were seated right away. Our servers name was Kamber and she was AMAZING, the best server EVER! Our drinks were replenished, she let us know what was in each dish that we might not like(which was GREAT). The food was DELICIOUS! Nothing inappropriately spicy. I had a chicken taco and chicken with crema side enchilada, papas and grilled vegetables. Really delicious. My mom had a grilled steak fajita quesadilla and really loved it.

Update: 1 day later, coworkers noticing excessive flatulence First, every time me and my wife have eaten here, it’s been a packed house(15 – 20 minute wait), and the wait staff had been very attentive and knowledgeable. The décor is nice as well. Now to the food … It’s been good every time, one of my favorite tex-mex places in south okc. Highly recommend the atomic salsa when your complimentary chips and queso come out, it’s very fresh and had a nice kick to it. I ordered the pollo ranchero, which was cooked well, and is topped with cheese and house ranchero sauce. To top it off, the perfect margarita is pretty perfect.

The only positive I will give was that Taffy, our waitress, was awesome. I still cannot see why people wait so long for this food. It was bland. The«hottest» sauce was little more than jar quality. The prices were so high that I was uncomfortable for our friends that suggested it, wish I had warned them. Anyway, my review will not hamper those that love this place. I only hope to suggest you look around if you are out of town. It is not the best mexican food in town. Also, after our incredibly long wait, we had to sit right by a door that was drafty on a day when the temps were sub 20 degrees outside. Not fun.

We came here on a Sunday for lunch(a late lunch around 2pm) and it was packed. Our group of 6 had to wait 30 minutes as they don’t take reservations. There is both an indoor and outdoor waiting area and a small TV. Once seated, we were greeted with chips and a bevy of salsas and queso. They also provided tortillas made in house for our dipping pleasure. There were 2 salsas that were hotter than the standard and those had to be requested. All dips were great. For my entrée, I had the Beefy Mexican Tacos. It was shredded, not ground beef, so we were off to a good start. Additionally, the portions were large and my only complaint is that it was a bit greasy and too salty. The service was great and the ambiance very homey. I even took my kid over to watch them make the tortillas through the window.

This place is so good. From the complimentary chips and dips to the complimentary desert Ted’s is a great place to go for some great food. My husband and I ordered the fajitas for two and we loved them. The chicken and vegetables were fresh and cooked perfectly. We also had great service. We were told there would be a 15 min wait but we were seated within 5 minutes. The server was very attentive and our food came out quick. Ted’s is so good and my husband and I will be back soon!
