I’m very happy with Storm Safe and my new in-garage storm shelter. They showed up when they said they would, did what they said they would do, cleaned up when they were finished and charged what they said they would charge.

So as far as storm shelters go, my priorities are as follows: 1. Price 2. Maintainability 3. Quality I say that because I’m mainly purchasing peace of mind. Even here in Tornado Alley, even with the disaster last year, the odds that my home specifically will be creamed by an F5 are very low. So this was more a «keep your wife from leaving you» purchase than something I was terribly invested in. Last Black Friday, StormSafe was apparently having a sale as well. I got what I consider an extremely fair price for an in-garage tornado shelter, with a relatively small deposit, and waited over the next couple months with trepidation while I waited to see what kind of pain the installation process would be. Fortunately, the delivery/installation was perfect. They were able to slot me in about a month early, the crew got the whole thing done in about three hours start to finish with full cleanup and no evidence they were ever there, and(fingers crossed) the concrete and shelter itself look like they were installed by pros. I’ll certainly update the review if I have occasion to need their warranty service, but until then, I feel like I hit the jackpot when it comes to storm shelters. Avoid the horror stories and give these folks a shot. Now if I can just train the damn dog to get in the shelter without reincarnating Cujo. Apparently we can’t just leave the pets to fend for themselves?
