Amazing view, gorgeous restaurant, decent service, good food. I ordered the scallops, modified, and they were delicious. The staff was professional and friendly but dinner took a while. Overall good experience at a reasonable price. I’m not sure what other people are complaining about but it’s possible management took care of business. My only complaint is that you pay for parking in this«vast», empty garage after work hours.

Hate to echo so many others, but go to Vast only for the view. Our last visit was the 2nd week of May, and maybe they were still recovering from mother’s day, but the food was merely adequate. Filet was tough, lobster was gummy, two diners’ steaks-ordered medium rare-had ice-cold centers and had to go back. Staff were delightful & attentive, and the view is an obvious attraction, but this was our second disappointing dinner at Vast.

Request KEVIN to serve you! The views were amazingly beautiful, but the evening wouldn’t have been the same without our waiter Kevin. I do not know where they found this gentleman, but I have never in my life had better service. Kevin was so knowledgable of the menu. He paid attention to every detail. He even noticed how I took my tea, and when he brought a refill, placed the same type of sugar I used by its side. It was the attention he paid to those small details that truly made the experience so memorable. We were treated as though we were his only table. Kevin even took his time to give us a tour of the restaurant floor after our meal! Thank you for the greatest evening, Kevin!

Wow have been wanting to try Vast! The negative reviews are off the chart! The response on each one the same, apologizes but obviously no improvement! Wonder how long it can go on 1st time experiences for the view and the bar. Guess I’ll pass!

Very expensive. View is the only best thing. First Course quails and shrimp are the best. Outstanding Grilled Octopus. The wines are an awesome addition to the view and the lounge. The main course Crispy chicken Roulade was out of the box.

I’m done with Vast, the restaurant. I will go to the bar again. I just don’t understand why the food is not good!!! This is the prettiest restaurant in the whole state of Oklahoma! The view is amazing! Why isn’t there a CIA trained chef cooking there? Why isn’t this a Michelin star rated restaurant? $ 62 for an overcooked NY Strip and 3 overcooked fingerling potatoes cut in half and some weird sauce that tasted like thick Worcestershire sauce(like maybe A-1!). My friend’s Skate was catfish. Other friend’s pork chop was so overcooked that her jaw got sore from chewing and she gave up on half of it. The waiter must’ve been trying to turn the table because after 2 bites of salad, I put my fork down to wipe my mouth and take a drink and he tried to take my plate while saying, «Are you done enjoying?». Uh, NO. He kept trying to rush us. I’ve been to Vast 6 times for dinner. 3 for work functions, 3 with friends. I won’t return for either now. I did tell my son I’d take him to the bar on his 21st birthday for a drink, just for the view. But we will eat dinner at Ranch, Mahogany or Broadway 10. The work function dinners were the worst! Awful service! EVERYONE had empty water glasses. Some were forgotten and got their dinners 15 minutes after everyone else. The dinners were a set menu of a tiny piece of overcooked beef, a smelly tiny piece of salmon and a weird salmon mousse app of some kind. The mushroom app in phyllo was delicious. But not worth the hassle of downtown traffic and construction. Seriously…why isn’t this place better??? Stick with the bar. Order a lemon pepper martini or another great cocktail from the bearded bartender(I wish I knew his name because he is AWESOME!) and enjoy the view. Pretty sad that the best food at Vast is the homemade pork rinds in the bar! Those things are delicious!

Went to Vast for our anniversary dinner. Awesome view, no doubt the view was the best part of the experience. Our server was very polite but he had a very heavy accent and was difficult to understand. The food was not good. I had the salmon and my wife had a chicken leg, not even joking, just a chicken leg. Dessert was chocolate cake which neither of us could choke down and an apple tart which was not too bad. As we sat and enjoyed the view we discussed the meal and tried to rationalize why it tasted so bad. The presentation was nice and the atmosphere was very upscale, maybe we don’t appreciate fine dining? As we listened to the people around us we noticed that a woman did not eat her fish and another woman told the server she did not like her meal. Cool experience but don’t go for the food!

The evening began with a greeting by the gatekeeper downstairs. I then rode the elevator to the 49th floor and stepped out into such a gorgeous restaurant and view. Paco and Samantha served me: I started with the quail stuffed with mushroom. I ate the leg bones as if i was at KFC because it was just that good. I did feel ashamed and I couldn’t walk away. In between the courses Paco, Samantha and I had some lively conversation again. My rack of lamb, which Samantha recommended, arrived and before taking that first bite I knew I was in for a treat. Come here. Eat here. Enjoy the people here. Also one thing I love is that the pad of butter they serve is soft, goes on the rolls so much better.

Thank you for an exquisite anniversary dinner! We’ve spent our last anniversaries in Rome, NYC, Amsterdam, Paris, and Antwerp, but our recent move to OKC has precluded any far-flung trips this year. Thank you for your kind attention to detail, including phenomenal seating and gratis dessert. This was an extraordinary experience all around, and we are most grateful for the wonderful service and kindnesses we were shown. Special thanks to Eric and his assistants. This town isn’t the easiest to be a vegetarian in, and I so appreciate the delectable vegan dishes proffered and enjoyed. We can’t wait to come back.

The best experience I’ve had at a restaurant ever. The service. It was amazing. Jake was the guy taking care of us, and he was outstanding. Every other person who came and talked to us was just as polite and welcoming as he was! We had the seared Gulf shrimp with sweet potato polenta as our appetizer, absolutely amazing. The Caesar salad was next and it was to die for, and the main entrée was the pork chop. Oh the pork chop, cook perfectly and and so succulent! I honestly wish I could give it more stars. Oh. And we had a corner seat by the glass. Such an amazing view!

Lunch there today. Our 9th and last time to give them our time and money. Great view, nice staff, lousy food. If your carving station employees are apologizing before they even cut your meet because it is overcooked, there is a problem. If you know it is bad, pull it and serve something that is edible. The fish is always dry and today was no exception. How hard is it to use a meat thermometer? If you have a salad bar with fresh unseasoned vegetables, why can’t you have salt and pepper? Always look forward to their crème Brule but even that wasn’t as good as usual. However, my meal ended with dipping my lovely strawberry in their vanilla sauce only to come up with a hair! Done, completley done because this isn’t our first bad experience there.

Excellent from start to finish. Went for a birthday and was a bit concerned about previous Unilocal reviews. Party of 5 waited on flawlessly. 3 steaks, a chicken, chefs 3 course and desserts and every single delectable morsel was perfect. I’m not an asparagus fan and they let me switch it out for corn… not any corn… wonderful corn sautéed fresh with caramelized onions and peppers. It was amazing. I had the filet Oscar style and it was great. All in all a great experience. I can’t say enough about the food or the view. I can’t wait to go back.

A-okay. When we walked in the 3 staff at the hostess stand acted like we were insane for coming in without a reservation… for lunch… on a weekday… when they’re running a buffet. It took them 10 minutes to find us a table, which was funny after we were shown our table and saw how many tables were populated(they were at maybe 30% occupancy). I ended up making«How many hosts does it take to seat a 7-top?» jokes. BTW, the answer is 4. A fourth worker came by to seat us and there wasn’t cutlery at the table yet. I have no idea what happened in that 10 minutes(except that we all went to the bathroom in rounds and each person that came out would say«Wow, we still don’t have a table?»). We weren’t even seated at a multi-table configuration. After we all reviewed the menus and had gotten drinks(that took a while) and were about to order, that’s when the waiter decided to tell us about the buffet. We’d assumed it was not happening that day since he hadn’t mentioned it with the specials nor when taking drink specials. The buffet food was delicious. I ate too much. My eyes wanted to try about 5 of the 8 desserts and that was after I had to taste-test all the breads and sides and steak just to make sure it would all be safe for my co-workers. I know how to take one for the team. The food is good and staff is nice, but they need to pull it together. Yes, it’s a cool spot for a restaurant and this must make you all feel super special, but just get the job done. Be straight with people about their options and seat them. It’s lunch which means we have to get back to work in a timely manner. I’m glad we didn’t order dishes because I have a feeling that would have taken a long time.

This review is only for lunch: My mom and I had reservations for 1230. When we arrived we were seated promptly and lead to the food area. We were told there was salmon, pork, ravioli, soup, etc. Two of the five chafing dishes were empty. Ravioli and something else. We proceeded to the carving station for pork and it was gone. The chef said it would be 20 more minutes. We had a nice salad and a couple sides. After 20 minutes nothing else showed up so we got dessert and left. Pretty disappointing.

Over seasoned meets disappointing! I decided to try Vast the highest altitude restaurant in Oklahoma City. I ascended the Devon Tower in Downtown OKC to get a few pictures and have a good lunch. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries but found then too spicy to eat. After the first 2 bites I sent it back. Both the Burger and the fries were inedible. Too bad… I ended up sampling the buffet. Most of it was mediocre with the chicken and dumplings standing out as excellent with homemade flavor that seemed a little out of place in place like Vast. The cream brûlée(my first) was creamy and sweet but I found the burnt sugar crust annoying after a bite or two. The cheesecake was intolerable with too much citric acid and vapid flavor. It was really bad. Olive oil smashed potatoes were odd. The skins did not do any favors to the dish and the flavor was not enjoyable to me. The meatloaf was dense muddy and flavorless. The Gouda Mac and. cheese was not bad the macaroni was soft but not mushy and the cheese not too grainy a feat for Gouda cheese. The dish had nice Gouda flavor and I would eat it again. Other items including the Italian cake were just plain nasty. The servers were very professional. Too bad the Chef does not do their work justice., It is a nice place to chat with friends with excellent views of the city. I would return but not for the food.

If anything, go to Vast for the experience. The views from on high are gorgeous and it really is a lot of fun to see OKC from a new angle. I came here for lunch and was not disappointed. I didn’t want to tempt myself with the buffet so I opted for shrimp and grits off the menu. Those were some of the best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had. A plate of crab deviled eggs were also sent over to the table, and they were dee-lish. The ambiance lovely – upscale, but not overly so. If you’re dining in a big group, you won’t get seated near the windows, since they save that space mostly for the small tables. But one of the group tables sits inside a box of sorts that had some cool décor, so that was pretty neat. Service was great – we were well tended to with drinks being refilled quickly. My colleague requested some food modifications due to an onion and garlic allergy, which Vast handled expertly and prepared the food as she requested. As for parking, you can park at the valet with The Colcord and cut through the Colcord to get to Vast. Don’t forget that you need someone to give you elevator access, because you can’t go up without them!

Finally had dinner at Vast and I’ve got to drop them not 1 but 2 stars. I arrived slightly late for a reservation Friday evening. I was seated immediately. As many Unilocalers note, there’s some great views to be had in Vast. I checked out the lights and the sprawl as I persued the wine list. Vast has a solid list, it’s got several bottles of each varietal, several regions, and it’s reasonably priced given its location. It’s way more than you’ll pay at a liquor store, but given that you are 50 stories up at an upscale restaurant, I didn’t think the prices were outrageous. My server, Amber, was fantastic. She was around frequently to decant wine or see if I needed anything, but she wasn’t hovering. I couldn’t have been more happy with my server, and I’ll ask for her in the future. The food, however, was hit and miss. I was given an amuse bouche of pineapple, pear, and watermelon in white balsamic vinegar with mint. This was a very refreshing bite(or 2) and a dish I may steal for my own home. I really liked it, I would order it in a full dish form if they had it on the menu. I decided to start with the roasted red pepper gnocchi and I was blown away. You get around 6 gnocchi, maybe a bit more. They are served with pea tendrils, creamed leeks, and a very generous sprinkling of feta cheese. This dish was fantastic, the gnocchi is pillowy soft, but has a slight crispness on the exterior to give it some texture. The sauce was peppery, creamy, and complemented the red pepper flavor(which is strong, but not overpowering) very well. I seriously debated ordering 2 more servings of this for my meal and calling it a night. It’s a must order if you like pepper, pasta, good sauces, or food in general. Very well crafted dish. I next went with the Caesar salad, which was not a big hit with me. The croutons didn’t have any body to them, it’s like they looked toasted but weren’t. Additionally, the dressing was too lemony for me. The salad is well dressed and comes with tapenade crustinis. And, it’s a good sized serving of salad. But, the dressing and croutons didn’t work for me, so I wouldn’t order this again. I next went with the No Name Ranch ribeye for $ 58. Dry aged 35+ days according to the menu, this steak is served with fingerling potatoes, asparagus, and a small vegetable medley. I elected to add 3 grilled shrimp as well. What they don’t tell you on the menu is that it is served covered in sauce. Now, I didn’t hate the sauce. It was a basic red wine type sauce. But, had I known it came with sauce, I would have had them put it on the side so I could just taste the meat and dip into sauce at my leisure. The entire steak was covered. And, a No Name steak that’s been dry aged over a month should not need sauce. In addition to the sauce, my first steak was overcooked beyond the ordered medium rare. As soon as I cut into it my server commented that it was over temperature. So, she took it back. I waited approximately 15 minutes and was brought another steak. She asked that I cut into it, and when I did it was rare. So, second steak is gone. Another 10 or so minutes later and a manager returns with my third steak. This one they got right. The manager was very apologetic, she comped my 2 appetizers and gave me a dessert. So, they made it right and were very professional about the whole thing. But, the damage was done as far as the timing of the evening. I ate around half or so of the steak. It is extremely tender, it almost had the give of a filet even though it was a ribeye. I did not get the month plus dry aging, but it did have nice flavor. The sides were average. The potatoes were lightly seasoned and not cooked enough for my taste. I don’t want mashed potatoes, but these had too much crunch to them. The veggie medley was small and nothing to write home about. The asparagus was prepared well. I went with the banana cheesecake and some port for dessert. They give a generous pour for port at Vast, I had a 20 year Sandeman’s for around $ 15 as I recall. Very fair in my book. The dessert was fantastic. Large piece of cheesecake topped with bruleed bananas. The crust had a hint of peanut butter. The cake was velveety but not too dense. This cake is well worth the $ 9 it would have cost me. In a sense I suppose I should be glad the steak became such an issue, because I probably wouldn’t have ordered dessert and this was very good. Glad I tried it. In addition, they provide you wish a small bite of chocolate chip cheesecake. As I expected, it was good, given that chocolate chips and cheesecake are both great. It tasted like you think it would, and I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to eating an entire slice of it. I will return to Vast, but I am more likely to do so for lunch. Given the prices and location, I was expecting more from my evening. That said, I had very good wine, a fantastic gnocchi dish, and got some excellent service. So, it wasn’t all bad.

Review for lounge only. This review is a bit overdue so the desserts may not be there anymore. But Vast is in a gorgeous building and has a gorgeous view! I came for the lounge for drinks and dessert only so not sure how the regular food is. Yes it’s pricey, and yes they give smaller portions, but the view was worth it to me. The regular menu items didn’t look too enticing for dinner, so if you want to just check out the view do drinks in the lounge(= Drinks aren’t bad, but you’ll spend a little more than normal and they won’t be as strong. But again, I think the atmosphere makes up for it. DRINKS Tropical Sizzle(3.5 stars): If you want a fruity drink go for this. Tequila Serum(3.5 stars) DESSERT Apple Crisp(4 stars): Loved the ice cream. Very flavorful. Bananas Fosters(3 stars): Meh. I just wouldn’t recommend it. ATMOSPHERE I love this building. So gorgeous I could just walk around it all day. There was a wedding going on so it took a while to get up the elevator to the restaurant since the wedding guests had to go up to. But once you’re up there the view just makes up for it. If you’re lucky enough to get a table at the lounge against the windows, take it! Comfortable seats and best view in there. SERVICE Our waiter was really nice and gladly checked on a couple items for us since I was with someone who has certain allergies.

Vast is iconic in Oklahoma City. There’s no other place like it in the city in terms of the experience and view. Each time I’ve been, the staff and bartender have been courteous and friendly. The drinks aren’t outrageous in terms of pricing, and for the view you get at the bar, nothing else in Oklahoma City compares. The bar is first come, first served, and even on weekends is usually easy to find a spot, even with a group. The quality of food, drinks, staff, and attention to detail all make Vast worthy of 5 beautiful stars.

I am so glad we had saved this experience for a special occasion. Kasey surprised me with reservations for my birthday this week, and I think Chef Kurt has been there long enough that he’s already started to impact the experience. We got there about 20 minutes before our reservation and started with cocktails and a view. Kasey’s Manhattan and my Saint Germain cocktail were both perfect, and getting to enjoy the view is a big part of going to Vast. For a starter we shared the beet salad and the lobster ravioli. Absolutely delicious, and a small starter is about all the lobster I ever want since it is so rich. For dinner, I had the Native-Amber brined chicken breast, which was better than any non-fried chicken I’ve ever had, but also it may have been a little bit pan fried since the skin had a really wonderful crispness. Kasey had the pork with risotto, and it was absolutely amazing. I was glad he let me steal so many bites. We just had wine by the glass, which was fine, but we never even saw the bottle list. I was sort of surprised they don’t bring that automatically. No problem, just maybe something that should be tweaked. Dessert was delicious: I had the strawberry shortcake and Kasey had the bananas foster, which was almost like a sopapilla with banana goodness on the inside. It was good enough that I hope you’ll indulge me the critic inside, more about the experience than the food, just some things seem a little off-putting. I’m sure there are some finer points they are working on with staff. I keep hearing that there aren’t enough properly trained servers in OKC, and I have to say, if they’re not at Vast, I’m not sure where they are. Our server was perfectly fine, but not Vast caliber. Here are some irksome things: when describing specials, just say«The chicken is pan seared» instead of saying«The chicken is gonna be pan seared.» The sauce is gonna be a reduction, the desert is gonna be a truffle… She probably said«gonna» about 20 times. They also probably need a little more standardization of server uniforms, hair, makeup, and jewelry(if jewelry is allowed at all.) I really feel freaked out every time you play with your watch while talking about food you’re going to serve us. Finally, I wish they didn’t all have to wear their badges prominently on their clothes — that’s more like an airport restaurant than some of the finest dining in OKC. Props for the valet, which is a great(complimentary) set up: they must call down to the valet when they validate your parking, because our car was ready and waiting for us when we got down to the street level. Overall, I just can’t wait to go back. Oh, and it wasn’t much more than Rococo was when we went the week before for our anniversary, in case you’re thinking it is going to be astronomically expensive.
