Can’t find anyone in NE Oklahoma that can make catfish better than Capp’s in Okmulgee! Beans and slaw were excellent, too. Only negative this trip, serve beans in a bigger container. But that won’t keep me from driving 25 miles to eat delicious catfish. If you are lucky enough to get a sweet potatoe pie, order that! You will not be disappointed at all.

Delicious! Bbq was sooooo tender! Fell off the bone! Small little hole in the wall! Baked potato was very good! And the fried bologna was out of this world!

This was some of the best meat we’ve ever had. My BF and I ordered the dinner for 2. 4 meats and 3 sides. We opted for the sliced brisket, pulled pork, hot links and ribs. For our sides we chose fries, cole slaw and potato salad. Like I said, the meats were to die for! Extremely tender and flavorful. The sides, however, could use some work. The cole slaw was very watery and the potato salad was bland. Seemed store bought. We stopped in late afternoon, only one other table in the very small dining space. Our tab was about $ 26 and we were stuffed.

I’ve been to Capps a couple of times and I have never been disappointed. I’m a girl who loves her bbq and I like to think I know good food. When ever i take friends places they always rave but it’d be rude not to so my good taste is debatable HOWEVER you can’t argue with science and math and the fact is Capps is always busy. Okmulgee ok isn’t a big town and this hidden gem needs to be discovered.

Meat was very tender, had a good smoke ring. Sauce had to much vinegar. Ribs and brisket was really good… sides of beans and potato salad was average.

This place puts Texas barbecue to shame, and I live in Texas! Tender brisket, guilty pleasure bologna, tasty turkey, juicy and spicy hot links, and ribs that fall off the bone. Good potato salad w/a balance of mayo and mustard, and we all like the beans. Plus, the people that work here are super nice. One waitress that has been there for years always is so helpful and friendly to our family. The mild sauce has a little kick to it. My husband likes the hot, but I am too wimpy to handle it. Tip: order the Cappwich which is a large sandwich of chopped brisket topped with bologna and hot links plus a side. It is a great deal!

I have the lunch special pulled pork sandwich with fried okra. The BBQ was so good it would make a vegetarian eat meat again. And good thing granny isnt on Unilocal cuase I can honestly say the fried Okra was the best I ever had!

The food was delicious and the people were very friendly! We were there during their lunch rush but were still being constantly helped and paid attention to. If I live in Okmulgee, OK, I’d be a regular. I had the bulldog burger and it was delicious. My uncle had the smoked turkey sandwich and it may have been even better than my burger! They also have BBQ plates and baked potatoes. If you’re driving through Okmulgee on a road trip, like us, you should definitely stop by!

Unbelievably disappointed. Barbecue awesome. Perfect. But I ordered 3 large sandwiches to go with sides and got the equivalent meat of one sandwich when we got home. And considering I am caring for a 91 year old gent and his son going through chemo I could not go back.

We stopped in for a snack in the afternoon. It was great that they had a little 2 rib snack. The ribs were falling off the bone — moist and tender. My brother, who eats and cooks a lot of ribs, said he was tempted to say they were best he’d ever had. We ended up taking a slab home. Interior is not fancy. Kid friendly.

The in-laws took my wife and I here to grab some BBQ during a recent visit. The place was busy even though it was midweek and I guess they close early so keep that in mind. The BBQ was pretty good, I liked the ribs and hot links the best. Very reasonably priced too. I would definitely give them another visit.

Capps BBQ is one of the best BBQ joints around. The ribs are tender, the loaded potato is generous and the hotlinks are both hot and flavorful. I am a giant fan of the hotlinks! The sauces are of good quality, not too hot to take away the flavor, but I wish they had a 3rd super spicy option. They have a huge sandwich called the capwich, giant piles of beef, bologna and hotlink… not my fave, but something everyone needs to try once. The place is small, but you will not need reservations for regular dining. If you are with a large group you may want to call ahead. Good service, great food, good prices and Capp is a real nice guy too.
