First steakhouse experience out of Texas and I’ll say I was impressed. Granted this is not a locally owned joint or dad’s backyard where you get a more fresh cut steak that is seasoned and grilled to perfection but you do get your money’s worth. Steaks were cooked as we ordered them and needed just a little salt. The most impressive aspect though was the customer service, the manager seated us and brought us a booster seat and some teddy grahams for the tiny human and was very pleasant. Our waitress was excellent and stayed on top of things better than most. Family of 3 ate for $ 30 plus tip.

Service was terrible the wait after we ordered our food was almost an hour. Even if it tastes good I will probably not return. After I mentioned to the waitress I almost fell asleep waiting her reaction was«oh don’t do that»! Really?!! Anyway I am going to stick with Texas Roadhouse can’t go wrong there!

Every Time I want to eat good steak, I go there. Very satisfied with the service and the taste. The way it is cooked is always right. Their bread and dips are awesome. I’d recommend for a good night dinner.

We had a good experience on January 2nd, dinner on a Saturday. We called ahead because we had five adults and two kids. So we only had to wait for ten minutes even though there was a substantial crowd waiting to be seated. Our waiter was good, our food was as we ordered, and we didn’t get any evil looks from staff at our children’s rowdiness towards the end of the meal. My husband and I both had the 6oz sirloin, which was quite flavorful. The garden salad before dinner was good, and the loaded baked potato was delicious. Good family dining at an established chain we know and love.

This is one of the Boy’s faves, but I found it to be pretty ordinary. Typical steakhouse fare. We ordered a fried green tomato app that was pretty good. They Guy’s prime rib was perfectly medium-rare, as requested, but my sirloin was very overdone. When she noticed I wasn’t eating, the server apologized & brought me a second steak that was only slightly less overdone. At that point, everyone else was about finished, so I punted. Not in a hurry to go back.

This was probably one of the down points of my day. I came here looking for fresh steak and juicy ribs and I was kinda looking forward to it. But when I came there was a 55 minute wait. I was willing to wait a while so I hung around. But after the big wait, It took a while to even put my order in. When I got my salmon salad it was raw, not rare, raw! The server came back and recooked the salad. But when he got back, I realized all he did was take the fish off, cook a different one and put it on the same salad. Even worse, I didn’t even get my money back! They gave me a free dessert, but nobody wants to eat a dessert after you were served raw food TWICE! I don’t want to eat there again! I was highly disappointed!

I have to say I was super surprised at how good this place was. First and foremost, I will go back. Service and quality of food was fantastic. You expect in chain restaurants to use tons of frozen food. None of the food I ate was ever frozen. I even got to see my ribeye before eating it. Clearly never frozen. Quality is high. Cost is very reasonable. Taste is great. Service was wonderful. What else can you ask for?

The staff here is wonderful, they know their stuff. I always considered Longhorn run of the mill franchise but was corrected tonight. this place is a legit restaurant that takes their fare seriously. my favorite app was the sweet corn fritter. then came the beefsteak tomato and bacon salad. amazing. the portabella sirloin was done to perfection. and we finished with a 6 chocolate cake. now I’m almost to full to type anymore. I want to give a shout out to the managers and the wait staff. they were attentive to their customers. they also enjoy what they do.

I was very impressed with the carryout food. The 2 for $ 30 meal was a really good deal because the portions are huge. The red rock shrimp was awesome.

I never do this… but come on. After being seated, the waitress didn’t show up for over five minutes. Restaurant was not busy. After ordering a beer and tea, it didn’t show for five plus additional minutes. Ordered spinach dip and chips. Chips were greasy and overly salted and there were approximately 12 chips for a relatively large boat of dip. We each ordered a steak, I opted for the larger portion and a salad. I requested a mixed green salad and a medium rare steak with french fries. Friend ordered medium steak with a Caesar salad and a loaded baked potato. Salads were dropped off without much comment and I noticed I had a shitty iceberg lettuce salad and my friend had a mixed green salad with Caesar dressing. Waitress was no where to be seen. Manager walked by and I snagged him. Advised him my friend had my mixed greens, my salad was incorrect and there was no romaine anywhere on either salad. He THEN advises that they ran out of romaine. So… the waitress attempted to blatantly pass off a crappy iceberg salad as mixed greens and mixed greens as Caesar. They remade my mixed greens and my friend advised a desert instead of a salad was an ok substitute. Then the meals came. WTF. My friend’s medium was medium rare and mine was rare. Both were so overly salted that it burned my mouth. The char was like crunchy bbq grill chunks and burned seasoning and my 8 oz steak was clearly the same size as her 6oz steak. The fries were greasy and so overly salted that I didn’t even eat half of them. I choked them down because we were starving and already balls deep in this nightmare. Also, my friend’s loaded baked potato… a dollop of sour cream and, seriously, like five little bacon bits. No cheese, not enough bacon bits and no other toppings. The waitress was clearly either having a bad night or not fit for face to face service. It was actually uncomfortable every time she came to the table, whenever that may have been. I advised my friend we’d just chalk this up as a bad experience and never come back. We tipped slightly because some concessions were made, but the meal was an epic fail. I agree with another poster that Texas Roadhouse has better steak and better service and lower prices. I also want to add it’s sad that my best experience in KC has been from Five Guys burger joint. Every single experience has been great, food is always quick and delicious and they are the most customer focused business I’ve ever visited. As far as Longhorn’s…never again. Bad new travels fast people. I’m sure your corporate office already knows your issues. If they don’t, oh well, but you won’t get my money again and hopefully at least a few people will choose another business based on my review.

We called ahead at 4:30 for a 6:00 meal and were told there wasn’t a wait but they could take our name anyway(I was willing to call back a little later if we needed to). When we got there at 6:00 we waited over 30 minutes at the reseraunt while they seated many parties that were the same size or bigger than ours. The manager was completely unhelpful(quite frankly he was a jerk) and not willing to acknowledge their mistake. Needless to say we ended up leaving without being seated. Go to Texas Road House and avoid these pricks like the plague.

This is the 2nd time we have been to the Longhorn in Olathe in the past month or so and again we were very pleased with everything! We were there for a late lunch on Saturday so it was not too busy. But the staff was still very attentive and helpful. When we walked in the host immediately came over and greeted us. We sat in the bar area as it was very accessible. The bartender was our server and she promptly greeted us, getting our drink orders. We both had soup and sandwiches – the baked potato soup was very good. And my black-and-bleu burger w/out the bleu was perfect! My husband’s prime rib sandwich was very good – it must have been as he gobbled up the entire sandwich. We finished it off with key lime pie and it too was excellent. Throughout all of this, our server was very personable and helpful. All in all, it was a very good experience and we will definitely be back!

Just another corporate cookie cutter restaurant. 35 minute wait on a Thursday… only stayed because DW insisted. Greeter never greeted, just handed us a buzzer – a robot would have been better, or some kind of vending machine. Bar is out of Sam Adams, it took almost 20 minutes for the bartender to convey this… the other draft options are cider and wheat beers… time has taken on a new dimension here, it seems to not move at all… finally we are seated, and the ribeye is one of the best steaks I’ve ever had! Worth the wait.

We normally don’t choose Longhorn for a steak dinner, but due to location we tried it again. Call ahead seating with a request for wheelchair accessibility was extremely helpful. The food(filet, potato, salad and bread) was all extremely good! However, we were disappointed with the pace of the meal, which was much too fast. Our salads came before we finished our appetizer. And before we finished the salads our meals came. Consider for a moment how many dishes on the table this would be for four people! It was crazy. Spending $ 130.00, one would desire a more leisurely dinner.

Although they had a Gluten Free menu, it was only a single photo copied page. They did have several choices in each of their categories. I chose the bacon wrapped filet with a salad(no croutons) and mashed potatoes. I’m really sad to say that the filet was more like a ribeye(and if you like your steaks, you’ll understand what I mean). My husband got the full slab of ribs with fries and he could only eat half of them. They were large and meaty. The fries on the other hand were way over salted(he said). I wouldn’t even try them as they fry them with all other foods in the kitchen. It was a decent meal, nothing spectacular(especially for the price). But at least I know I can get something that is Gluten Free.

The steaks were slathered in seasoning and salt. We were told it was prairie dust. We asked to see the manager twice to express our concerns. Never showed. Told the waitress the steaks were unedible with the amount of seasoning. Her solution was to ask for them not to slather them in seasoning the«next time» we came Never asked to replace steaks. Never asked if the could comp part of the check. THEWORSTSTEAKHOUSE I have ever experienced, the staff was unattentive and the food and service were horrible. Better steaks at the Golden Corral.

I received a gift card for Christmas for Longhorn. I am single and so decided to place a to-go order. I definitely wasn’t going to order a steak for carryout but am thinking maybe I should have, because what I did order was delicious. I called in and a very pleasant employee took my order for an appetizer(onion petals that I can’t remember the name of LOL) and the chopped steak with onion strings/mushroom gravy and fries. 20 mins later I picked up my order at the bar and was on my way. When I arrived home I opened the sack and pulled out an extremely organized and packaged dinner. The fried onion petals came with the hot horseradish dip, hot and yummy. The chopped steak was out of this world with that wonderful gravy. Even the little salad was awesome. They even included that fab bread and butter. I was just really surprised at how everything was packaged for optimum freshness and it was all so dang good that I will be ordering again for take out very soon. and maybe get a steak next time, it was that good. Color me surprised basically as I really wasn’t expecting carryout to be this good! Way to go guys!

Delicious. Had the starter salad. Warm honey wheat bread that was fresh with a crispy crust and soft center. Ordered the prime rib, medium with French fries. Meat was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Au jus was also tasty. Had cheesecake for dessert which was a large portion and deliciously creamy. Server was efficient and nice. Ambiance was western themed and clean. Manager greeted us and was visible during and after the meal. Overall, I would definitely go back happily. Btw: when checking in and signing up for their email updates, got a free appetizer email to use next time. I like incentives!

It’d been awhile since my last visit here, so my husband and I thought we’d venture back. Yes this is a chain restaurant. However it’s not a bad choice if you’re looking for a steak in Olathe. The dining area is not huge, so expect a wait… even on a Monday night. They have a pretty typical steakhouse menu. They serve fresh bread loaves to each table. My husband really enjoyed his steak. It was cooked as he ordered, juicy and flavorful. I had the salmon and it was delicious. If you aren’t a big fan of garlic butter, order your veggies steamed and get the butter on the side. It was overwhelming to me. The server was kind and brought me steamed veggies. I also really enjoyed by baked sweet potato with cinnamon and sugar, yum! The service was friendly. For our server that evening, it was his first day. He did a great job and we were impressed with his knowledge and service. Overall this was a great dining experience, even though we had to wait 30+ mins at almost 8pm on a Monday.(That’s rare in suburbia)

This is a particularly nice LongHorn Steakhouse. Due to my stepmom’s dietary restrictions it’s a go-to place for my family. They’re very accommodating to everybody’s needs. We went here on a Saturday around noon. First thing I noticed was how excellent their lunch menu is. They have tons of salads, sandwiches, soups and nice combos(soup/salad, soup/sandwich, salad/sandwich) making it a perfect place if you don’t want a gigantic lunch. We wanted to watch the K State game so we sat at a booth in the bar area. They quickly changed the channel for us so we could enjoy watching the score while we dined. Since the waitress was busy at the time the hostess took our drink order right away. It was thoughtful and a sign of a well-run restaurant. Apparently the waitress knows my dad and step-mom because they come to eat at this place a lot. She was friendly and remembered what kind of dressing my dad wanted and my step mom’s dietary restrictions. I ordered the BBQ sandwich with mashed potatoes as a side. Everybody else ordered similar or lighter meals. The food came out about 20 minutes after we ordered. Everybody seemed to enjoy their meals — I ate the whole thing and left feeling pretty full. The sound level at this restaurant is nice as well — not too loud but not dead either. The only actual complaint I have is minor — in the bathroom stall they have this huge stopper on the side of the stall. I didn’t notice it and banged my arm smack into it. I now have a bruise. It seemed like a bad place for the stopper but that’s life, haha. I’d eat here a lot with my family if I still lived in town. Oh, and I almost forgot, the bread! The bread is just as good as the last time I ate at a Longhorn. We gobbled that up fast!
