I really loved this place! For anyone who enjoys billiards, this is the place to go. It’s excellent for weekly league and tournaments. Plenty of places to sit, multiple types of tables and many tables to play on. The service is excellent! The staff was working some pretty long and odd hours while I was there for a tournament, and they were nothing but nice. I was surprised not to see a hint of anything barbecue on the menu; however, all the food I had was pretty good. I would recommend: corn dog bites, cheeseburger, fried mushrooms, grilled cheese with ham, french fries, philly cheese steak sandwich.

this place is the best pool hall in the Kansas city area, and the best within several hundred miles. The average player can join a league and get good competition and find fellow players who are happy to assist folks get better. I don’t think of this place as «divey».The room is laid out well, with many tables of different sizes. Bar tables, snooker, three-cushion billiard: what you need to play on, they got. Prices are very reasonable. The food is satisfactory. Nobody goes to a pool hall for the food, but I eat well there., The servers are uniformly cheery– no attitudes, no silliness. The owner is a decent chap, and has supported big money tournaments for years. The big names in professional pool show up here once or twice a year. This is a great place for pool and pool players. Real pool playing happens here often.

I play pool in a league at Shooters, which is a private club in Kansas.(That means smoking is available indoors.) It costs $ 10 for a year to join. Although it’s a bit«divey» there are some great reasons to like this place, too. The service ranges from fantastic to horrible, depending on who happens to be working. The owners are terrific about responding to customer concerns and most of the employees are very helpful and friendly. It’s generally clean, but the food is unremarkable most days. Occasionally they’ll whip up something like stroganoff, though, and a few of their menu items are tasty. The thing I like best about Shooters is that they’re very supportive of billiards events and bring a lot of tournaments and exhibitions to the area. For instance, I got to attend an exhibition with Mike Massey, the amazing trick shot artist who has been on ESPN many times and has won numerous world championship titles without having to pay an admission fee. I have also found such highly skilled players who have helped me improve my game that I’m now qualified for a regional tournament that could take me to national level competition.
