The Moving Crew claims on their website that they will give you a fixed price quote. Don’t fall for it!!! Phil came out to our house and looked at all the items, and gave us a quote capped at $ 1,150. He said he will charge by the hour, if it turns out less than the cap. However, the day of moving, the mover made it clear, that our estimate is only for 6.5 hours, and that we would have to pay an additional $ 180 per hour after our time is up. They gave us the option of leaving some stuff behind, or to pay extra to complete the move. At that point you really don’t have another choice than to pay up. Ours ended up being $ 340 over the estimate.
They also scratched my wood floor from moving the refrigerator, broke a table top, and broke a water shut-​off valve. I sent Phil an email asking for a refund of $ 500 for the overcharge and the repairs, and his only response was «Did you buy insurance?» I have not heard back from him since.
