A excellent lunch and great experience. The food was top notch and the service impeccable as well as a beautiful atmosphere and décor. The waitress was extremely nice and considerate and furthermore lunch was quickly served. This diner was the most excellent experience and this place earns a 5⁄5 rating and is highly recommended!

This is by far the BEST New Jersey diner! Having being the diner Capital of the country, I had no doubt this NJ diner would be the bomb. I stop here every time I’m in Jersey. Their French onion soup is delicious.

I see other people have not been happy with their experience here but either they were there at a bad time or I’ve been luck every time I’ve been there. In fact we’re going there tonight(which probably means I’m jinxing myself.) Never had a problem with an order or service. Had the beef brisket, mashed potatoes, gravy and mixed veggies. Came with soup(had the chicken orzo), salad bar and desert(chocolate mousse cheesecake.) As usual, food and service were just fine.

My girlfriend ordered an omelette with cheddar cheese and she received American cheese. When the omelette was returned, they insisted that she was wrong. She then ordered eggs over medium and was served eggs with runny yolks. She spoke to the manager who explained to her that she ordered her eggs incorrectly. We have been here before, and up till now have had no issues. I am more upset at the manager’s dismissive attitude.

definitely not a diner i’d come back to even if i was literally starving to death. owner wandered around with us following us to a table he finally decided it was ok for us to sit at. the waitress took 10 mins after we sat down to even ask what we wanted to drink. even after that, we didnt get our drinks until after we got our french onion soup. i’ll admit, the broth was good! but the cheese was just melted… no crusty layer of cheese as there should be! the meals itself took really long considering the place was not busy and we ordered pretty standard food… i ordered a grilled cheese on sour dough bread(the outerbridge) with sweet potato fries and my bf ordered a fajita wrap. his«fajita» wrap had bacon… huh? and my fries were burnt(see picture). would you even bring that out to a customer??? and the waitress? horrible. unattentive. and slow. quite annoyed. never again. oh. and the owner was heard and seen yelling across to the kitchen for someone to answer the phone. and i overheard a customer telling the owner that«they» messed up her wrap 3x.

This diner has no idea what they are doing. I had ordered there tonight for the first and last time. I have been in search of a good diner near my new home and had very high hopes for this place. We ordered potato skins a chicken souvlaki pita which came with a Greek salad and a tuna melt, very standard diner food. Unfortunately it is not standard for this diner to put lids on dressing give an adequate amount of potato skins or even melt the cheese on their tuna MELT. When i tried to call and speak to the manager he quickly pushed my call over to the waitress who gave a monotone unapologetic apology about the oil and vinegar that are now all over my car. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this horrible place!

They don’t have jalapeño poppers. The waitress also didn’t know if they had tea, melon, or cottage cheese, despite the fact that all of those items were listed on the menu. The food was bland, the surfaces were dirty, and the waitress took our ketchup bottle for another table because they didn’t have enough. Then, at like 10:45 on a Friday night, the glowering manager came over to our table and said we had to leave because«everybody wants to go home.» Worst diner.

My husband and I have been eating at Bridgeway for years now. I can say that we have never had a bad meal! Their prices are good for the portions you receive especially the dinner specials.

I would like to give this place ZERO stars. My nieces have severe peanut allergies and when my sister asked questions about whether the food contained or was processed with nuts, they weren’t understanding that they can’t be processed with nuts either. My sister asked to see the package of ingredients to make sure and keep her children safe. The manager in response said: «This is ridiculous.» I’ve never written such a bad review for a place but the lack of concern for the safety of children is appalling. Parents who have children with allergies be warned!

Like most people in NJ, you search and find a go-to diner for a quick, convenient, decent meal anytime of the day or night. And if they make a good cheeseburger deluxe, you’re golden. Unfortunately, the Bridgeway Diner & Restaurant is not that place for me. The service here can be really good or really bad. This depends on the particular person who happens to be your server. This quality is ultimately due to ineffective management and a lack of consistent training. Entrees are generally good and an excellent value. Kids meals are generous and come with ice cream as dessert(Daddy tax!). Sandwiches-eh not so much. The most glaring negative is the wait time for food. Even when not busy, the wait time has averaged 20 minutes for meals or sandwiches that shouldn’t take 10. When the meals arrive, the plates are hot and sandwiches can be dried out due to sitting under the heat lamps. Again, a failure from the management side. Overall, this is an ok diner with nothing that makes it stand out amongst other choices. It is definitely NOT a go-to spot.

My wife and I have been here several times and frankly I’m surprised by the one star ratings. I don’t think we’ve ever been disappointed or experienced poor service. The two previous times I had the chicken pot pie special. I forgot that I had had it the first time or else i would have tried something different. Not that there was anything wrong with it… quite the opposite. I just might have liked to discover another good meal. They’re served in a bread bowl along with a bowl(not cup) of soup, salad bar and desert. while the salad bar doesn’t take up that much room, I thought there was a nice selection. Our most recent trip this past Saturday(and reason I decided to write) was just as good. This time I made it a point to remember to try something else besides the pot pie(but it wasn’t on the menu.) I had the Chicken Chipotle over rice. It was very tasty and I server Jeniffer was excellent. Again, I’m surprised by the poor reviews.

I went to your Saturday morning by myself. I had an omelette with tomato mushroom cheese bacon in it. I had an English muffin and no home fries. When I got the bill she charge me $ 16 for an omelette. I went to call the waitress over and she was this biker chick attitude she’s like you’ll have to wait I’m busy. So I got up and went to the manager and showed him that she charge me individually for each item instead of charging me for everything which was $ 8.00 . The manager was not very helpful he said to me well you should’ve looked at the menu. When you go here watch your bill. I think the waitress tried to charge me extra so she would get off a bigger tip being that I was one person. I would not go back here again and do not recommend it the food is not even that good. Annoyed

We go here because it’s close to home, with convenient hours and really good food. Quality and fresh ingredients, generous portions. You can tell everything is made to order. Décor is good, not too themey or dated like some diners can get and it’s clean. Don’t get dessert from the display, ordered a slice of cake and it was stale. Biggest issue is service is hit or miss. Some waiters are normal, others are awkward and/or rude. They also have glass bottles for ketchup, ugh.

We were there last Sunday and left disappointed after our brunch. Waitress brought orange juice when I had asked for Apple and my husband’s pineapple juice was warm. Not impressed with the banana chocolate chip roll up pancakes… they were so dry. My husband wasn’t into the gyro either. We won’t be returning there.

Not worth even trying. I have given this dinner a few chances and each time I was greatly disappointed. The attitude of the service staff alone is enough to keep you from ever coming back. Eggs are horrible, breakfast potatos are sad and taste old. They do make an excellent pancake with a bunch of topping choices and a very nice matzo ball soup. The wait staff is down right rude.

The place is very nice inside and the waitress was pleasant but the breakfast that was served wasn’t tasty. The cheddar cheese omelet was bland, the toast was cold and the potatoes were bland too. They need to add fried onions to give some favor or find some ingredients that create taste to liven my taste buds. The tea was hot which I enjoyed. The place was pretty. They need nicer silverware. All in all not bad but not great either. Price was pretty good. Seating was fast. Served pretty fast too. Will try again to see if it gets better.

This is a pretty standard diner with standard diner prices. Great variety of food, and very attentive wait staff. While here I had the french dip sandwich with french fries. I am always hesitant to order french dip at a diner, but the one here is pretty good! It is a generous helping of sliced roast beef and their dipping sauce is great. French fries are also tasty. Boyfriend ordered the salad which was a generous portion and looked delicious(he agrees that it was delicious). So-if you happen to be in this tiny Jersey town, definitely hit this place up! Great service, and great food.

Worst ever! My husband and I were going at least once a week. Food wasn’t to bad? But last 2 times BAD! Steak was all grizzle so I complained. The owner was mad that I complained so I told him to try and cut through it? Was all fat! And they have frozen burgers? Why? It seems all the nj dinners do? We’re noted for our diners yet I can’t give one I like???

I’ve given this place three tries. The home fries are dry. The pancakes came out dry. The prices are ridiculously overpriced. I can easily go to Perkins and get a full breakfast with eggs and pancakes for $ 5!!! They don’t even butter your toast. Just felt like a generic, sub-par eating experience. Won’t be returning…
