I reserved a trailer. When I went to pick it up, it was still snowed in from a storm the week before. When I asked what I was supposed to do for a trailer, I was told that I could dig it out. I wound up buying a cheap trailer and no longer need these people and their attitudes.

I don’t know much about the storage units or their prices because I was just a driver for my friend, but as for the rental trucks and the actual store front, I was very pleased. I came here the other day to help a friend move and everything from beginning to end seemed to be quick and painless. Both picking up the truck and dropping it off took 5 minutes tops. Best of all, their storefront had every moving supply you could think of. A million different box sizes, kerosene tanks, tow hitches, furniture covers and everything in between. I didn’t really check out the prices, but they had one of the best selections of moving supplies that I’ve ever seen. They even have a clearance section. As for the trucks, they are relatively new, have air conditioning, automatic transmissions, and are very clean. My only complaint is that there’s only customer parking for like 5 cars in the front.

My first time experience with U Haul and it will be my last. They sent me a reservation for Old Bridge and I called to confirm. Two days later they tell me I have to pick up the rental in Plainfield. I spoke to female in Old Bridge who had no personality at all. She gave me the 800 number and the male person I spoke with could care less. I asked to speak to his manager and he said he was the manager. What a joke! I would advise you to find a more reliable company to rent from. My plans for my weekend move are ruined. Thank you U Haul you really shouldn’t get a star but I had no choice.

This place is terrible! Their own ratings on the uhaul site are awful. The only reason they don’t have 1 star on there is that they have a bunch of people who have left 5 star reviews with no comments. How convenient. The people who have left comments have had similar experiences to mine. First of all, the facility itself is a mess. It’s all outdoors but they charge the same rates as indoor, climate-controlled facilities. They have a security gate that you have to swipe a card to get into but it’s never closed, not even when the office is closed. Anyone can get in at any time. No attempts were made to get rid of snow and ice. My storage door was frozen and I had to dig it out. Huge puddles had turned to ice and no salt was even put down. I fell twice before I even got the door open. I only had the place for 5 weeks. The first month was free because I rented a uhaul truck to move my stuff. I paid for the 2nd month(2÷10−3÷10) but moved out 2⁄17 because it was just a waste of my money and my things were not safe. They refused to refund me for the 3 weeks. The manager herself even told me when I rented that they were only at about 10% capacity and most units were empty. That should have tipped me off as to their practices right there. They’re empty because no one will rent from them. I was new to the area so I didn’t have friends to ask but I’m sure that the local word-of-mouth is the reason the place is empty. Do your research. Uhaul doesn’t even have the best rates for trucks in the area. I only went with them because I thought the free month of storage made the extra truck rental money worth it. I was dead wrong.
