I would highly recommend the Stuffed white pizza. I ordered the white along with the red pizza. While both pizzas were gone in no time at all, the white pizza definitely went the fastest. Yum-o!

NOREFILLS! NOLOCKSONMEN‘s BATHROOMDOOR! several times our appetizers were given sametime as our meals! Servers are known to skip over customers which been sitting and waiting while people just seated are waited on first. finally, the owner should take a look at his window sills, their filthy, dirty, and that all falls onto your food. again the NOLOCKS on mens bathroom door is defentily a healthcode violation especially if a child is in there and a man walks in especially when that man is likely drunk seeing bar and resteraunt share same bathroom.

Don’t go here if you expect to eat. 7 people in the restaurant took 30 min to get clams. Two entrees never made it to the table. Absolutely insane.

The white pizza is best on the planet. The service however is horrible. Calling the number on line to order for pick up either gets you told to call another number or they drop the phone on the bar for God knows how long until someone huffs what do you want. I’ve never called a restaurant that seemed more bothered by me trying to spend my money there. I wish the owners would call their own number and try to place an order. I pray they do. Staff needs service lessons.

solid pizza. not to die for, but solid(and so you will be too if you eat too much). It was open on a sunday. I would have gone to Elios(now Lou’s). But, they did not pick up the phone. Happy with the alternative. You do get the eye as you walk in from the locals, but they folks at the bar helped with our pick up and carry out. they don’t have take away drinks, but can provide ice and napkins to help eat on the road, if you are, for example, going to state college. Would definately go back. ask for a tray(not a pizza, you non-local), 12 slices per tray. it was $ 16.50. would feed 3 – 4. we liked it, so would feed three. realized that i have eaten in twice, I think. solid. bar-like, not fancy, but good food.

Food good at times. Service slooooow. Windowsill filthy dirty which can easily fall into your food. Mens bathroom not appropriate for a child by himself NOLOCKSONDOOR, NODOORONSTAUL, JUSTCHEEPDIVIDER&MIRRORANGLEDTOSEETOILET! !!! This was asked to be fixed several times, a simple latch inside of door and owners ignore request. If u bring your son here make sure noones in bathroom and stand by door guarding it not let anybody incase of Sickos and drunks!

Their pizza is to die for! Very reasonably priced, awesome crust and generous toppings. I’ve had other meals here, but trust me, choose pizza.

It’s pretty much half bar and half restaurant type area. My boyfriend and I entered from the bar side for lunch around 12:30 and it was SO dark. At first I thought it was just a bar but there was a restaurant area which was more lit in the back. When we got there there was no one in the restaurant area which seemed a little concerning. We order onion rings and 3 cuts of red pizza. The onion rings were very good. The pizza was okay. It’s apparently a specific type of pizza for the area so I wasn’t sure if I just didn’t like the type or that specific one. It was pretty cheap though so there wasn’t too much to complain about.

slow made me sick and had so much garlic that every vampire in the US would stay awaw from me for a week. The kids loved the honey dipped chicken

Great pizza and potato pancakes. My husbands family take us here whenever we are in town. They have the best stick to the roof of your mouth kind of cheese on their pizzas.

I loved the Old Forge style pizza. The white pizza was especially good. I thought overall it was a great value and worth the drive

While I appreciate the pride that locals take in their idiosyncratic cuisine, the appeal of Old Forge style pizza is lost on me. The main distinction of «Old Forge style» is the chewy, unnatural cheese, the sort of thing usually found topping frozen supermarket pizza.(«Nardone Bros.» frozen pizza is another local«delicacy» much extolled for reasons of nostalgia more than actual merit.) The pizza dough is bready and drier than most. The pizza at Salerno’s is as good as any in Old Forge, it is not awful by any means. But it is an acquired taste that might be difficult to acquire. The place is quite busy and the prices are reasonable. Aside from pizza, the rest of the menu is run-of-the-mill Italian-esque. Worth a trip for the curious.

The red pizza was good. My sons pasta was overcooked as well as my fried shrimp. It was burnt and they still had the audacity to serve it. I asked for a refill for my unsweetened ice tea and they charged me for it.

Two tourists walk into the bar area on a Saturday evening. A lot of stares. I think the music may have stopped. It felt like we were ignored in the vicinity of the sign that said«please wait to be seated». We eventually were seated. It was all uphill from there. The waitress was very pleasant and helpful. We had never had old forge pizza before, we ordered the tomato/basil option and a house salad as an app. The pizza was fantastic! wow… the pizza crust was a godsend. i think they use american cheese… wow… highly recommended! Value was great, pizza was fantastic. «Yay! I’m a fan.»

First, why doesn’t Unilocal show menus? Second, they should work a deal to cross reference Jane and Michael Sterns Road Food destinations. Now for the old Forge Style Pizza: it’s great ! Try Tomato/Garlic!

Your typical upstate, local, bar/restaurant … except this is the one with the best old-forge style pizza. Both the red tray and the white stuffed trays are excellent. The white is my all time favorite of the area. Since i’m not local, i’m always making trips home with at least $ 75 worth of food. If I visit and dont bring my father home two orders of tripe, i’m in trouble. Although i dont eat tripe, i’m told theirs is the best. Always found the staff to be helpful and polite.

Saw an employee cooking and smoking at the same time in the kitchen and have not been back since. As far as Old Forge pizza is concerned, it’s below average, but not the worst.

This is the best«Old Forge» style pizza around. Seriously. I tried quiet a few other places during my years at a nearby college, but nothing ever came equal this. I can’t judge their other foods, just the pizza. It has a crispy bottom, fluffy dough, perfect sauce and a wonderful combo of cheeses that makes it unbeatable. Also a plus, it’s not very greasy like many other pizzas. I’ve moved from the area recently, and whenever we are visiting friends we always make it a point to go there.(It’s secretly the highlight of visiting people that live nearby lol!) Edit: According to wikipedia the definition of «Old Forge Pizza» is: «This pizza is typically rectangular in shape with a balanced tangy sauce, and topped with a creamier cheese, similar to fontina or white American, on a crispy thicker crust. «Which is exactly what the review below didn’t like, but the same thing that is served(and loved) by much of Northeast PA.
