I go to Winfield’s about once every year and can say that they have had a few issues here and there, but my last visit and this visit have made me realize they are now going downhill. I only came here for breakfast this time and for the price I was paying and the quality I was expecting, I was hoping that the comparison would be just about above average. I can say that they went way below my standards and are just not good anymore. I have gotten the same waiter and front desk lady every year and can say they are very nice. What I think could care less and/or keeps changing are the cooks. None of the food ever turns out good anymore, except for a fresh omelet believe it or not! Their furniture, although it has a formal style, is dirty and needs to be replaced. I really hope this restaurant can turn themselves around, because they used to be very good.

Only one meal here, dinner, but it was quite good – reasonable prices for a hotel(slightly higher than average, iow), not the best value but pretty good. Extra points for the absolutely gorgeous location, in the atrium of the spectacular Hyatt Old Greenwich. Love this hotel and really liked the restaurant. Would go back. Wanted to try breakfast but $ 25/pp was too steep, found a deli up the street and had a great egg sandwich for 1⁄5 the price. No knock on this place, though, it’s perfectly acceptable food and stellar ambiance.

The environment alone gets 5 stars. It’s simply delightful to brunch here. It’s really exciting to see all the different manned stations(pasta, meat, crêpe/pancake, egg/omelette) the first time you go. But the reality is that the food isn’t outstanding. The eggs Benedict don’t always taste fresh. It can’t. they put a whole bunch together in a chafer for the buffet. There are DIY mimosa and bloody mary stations. But something about the food/drink doesn’t feel like it’s worth $ 79 per person. You’re really paying for the atmosphere.

Gorgeous Winfield’s at Greenwich Hyatt Regency is the ultimate Brunch dining experience with a pasta station, carving station, sushi and shellfish stations, fresh salads, traditional breakfast with eggs Benedict, scrambled, bacon and sausage, potatoes and made to order pancakes and much, much more! Don’t forget to end a fabulous meal with their chocolate fountain, pastry selections, fresh fruit, marshmallows and pretzels for dipping, mini fruit tarts, cheesecakes, fudge mini cakes and a small mouse mousse chocolate sculpture was heavenly! Pare this with all you can imbibe mimosas, champagne or bloody Mary’s for only $ 60 per adult, you have heaven on earth brunch time! Just a few tweeks to make this a 5 star experience. First, my coffee was very bitter. The sauces of Alfredo and marinara at the pasta stations could have been way better. Maybe change the heavy(jar tasting) marinara to a light sauté of fresh tomatoes and basil over pasta. The Alfredo just did not work. Maybe a nice light pesto or just a garlicky virgin oil with the Romano cheese stirred in. The pork at the carving station was very dry, I would maybe change to ham or turkey. The roast beef was excellent. I am a huge breakfast fan and love my eggs Benedict, bacon, potatoes, sausage etc. I was very dismayed that my egg on the eggs Benedict was over cooked, I longed for the yolk ooze to mingle with the nice hollandaise sauce! Plus cutting it was impossible due to rubbery Canadian bacon and a barely toasted English muffin. The bacon, sausage and potatoes were done well. I also think a small«child friendly» station would be well received with things like mini pancakes, pizza bagels, chicken fingers and Mac and cheese. Plus, music played was not appropriate to the ambiance. Service was impeccable by our server Manny, Rose at the pasta station, and Gienel(?) at the omelette station who has been with Hyatt for 23 years! All in all a nice afternoon.

I came here for a party and I was very impressed with the Sunday brunch. They had a huge selection of breakfast food and also pasta any way you like, roast beef, etc. I enjoyed the pancakes at the pancake station. They will make them any way you ask and have plenty of toppings. It’s really all you can eat, so bring your appetite. They even have a dessert station that has so many delicious treats. All different kinds of cakes and chocolate covered strawberries. The staff is friendly and they kept filling our mimosa’s, which was a real plus! I also should say that the ambiance is a really pretty since it’s in an atrium with live trees and a brook. A very nice touch!

Great atmosphere. Good food. The atrium gives the hotel a nice feel. Can’t wait to go back for another layover. Be expected to shell out some money. Food is pricy but quality.
