Island View Motel

We stayed here for a three night getaway and honestly it is like most motels in Old Orchard Beach — outdated.
Positives:
Within walking distance of the Pier (about 15 min)
Beach access across the street
Nice pool
Owner is extremely friendly
Bandit the resident pup is very cute
Small kitchenette with refrigerator, cook top, utensils
Free wifi
Outdoor patio
Very affordable and lots of mid week specials
Negatives:
Outdated
Only double beds in rooms
Our comforter had a cigarette burn hole in it that I thought would be switched out once the sheets were changed but was not
Walls are paper thin, you can hear the TV in the next room over
Everything felt cheap — comforter, décor, toilet paper (sandpaper), soap etc.

Maybe it was because I was looking forward to a romantic getaway at the beach and a relaxing place to sleep at night but I was pretty disappointed once we walked into our room. From the outside this motel is beautiful, from the inside it is liveable. If you are looking for a place to lay your head at night while at the beach with friends this place does the trick. If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay I would say look elsewhere.
