horrible bad service and no personality. That is ct dmv 25 million for a program that failed paid by ct tax payers really more investigation needs to go into that the state of ct residents paid for a system that failed I hope that company was not paid.

Nice people but cronicly slow. Even after calling and talking to someone about what I needed moving here from another state they did not tell me everything. Been doing this since 10 am and it’s now 4 pm. One license and 3 cars

Sitting here on a Friday afternoon attempting to register a rubber raft. The number system is at 682. My number is 724. Only three windows are manned. People are here to register cars from dealerships. What a complete waste of a day and payroll for all these people! What an inefficient system and who is responsible? I will be spending most of my day off here. There has to be a better way to manage this… :(

Coming from California, we complain constantly about the hell we experience while waiting at the DMV. That said, I had no idea what the pain really was until we moved to Connecticut and experienced real DMV agony to end all dispair. Back in Cali, it took me literally a one hour wait at my local branch to get my CDL updated with my new name when I got married, and for it to be updated with a new picture. Of course I hemmed and hawed at the audacity of making me wait that long, and took myself out for a celebratory cookie afterwords as a consolation for the discomfort. Here in Connecticut, my husband had to update his registration and we tried three times the 45 minute drive to see someone at the nearest branch to no avail. Once we did hit the jackpot and secure a place in the cue, the wait was THREEAND A HALFHOURS. That only got him the paper temporary plates! He then had to go to a smog shop to prove that the car had the correct VIN, something I have never heard of and we absolutely don’t do in California. Once he had this task accomplished, it was back to the DMV for another FOURHOURWAIT! Luckily this time he left with plates in hand, but was exhausted, annoyed, and successfully wasted over 7 hours just to do something they could have done in 10 minutes. Parking in the lot to garner the opportunity to waste this much of your life is pretty impossible too, with people double parking and parking illegally on curbs, sidewalks, and where it clearly states«NOPARKING.» When we spoke with our fellow prisoners of this DMV, we heard similar horror stories from them including the branch having so many customers that they actually closed for the day to the public. I was surprised at how slow these people work, and how archaic their systems are including literal ink stamps. I don’t understand how this has continued to be the way it is, and if I could give it less than one star, I would.

It’s Saturday morning, it’s DMV — what more is there to say? It’s a ridiculous system, isn’t it? Why can’t I do all this online? Anyway, after waiting to renew my license my number was called(finally) but they had given me a wrong number because that window couldn’t process renewals. So wait some more. This screams to be privatized.
