One star for the drinks & friendly waitress. Great atmosphere & drinks. The food… AWEFUL! Nothing was fresh, all previously frozen and tasted nasty. Such a nice place it’s a shame the kitchen Dept doesn’t have a clue how to cook!

The only thing that brings me back is their amazing food… If only their service could match the ability of their amazing kitchen! If you’re patient and can handle subpar service — the food is totally worth it!

Lisa and Scott do everything right at this out of the way best kept secret in town. The bar and restaurant side are both comfortably decorated and perfect for a quick bite or a large gathering. My favorites are the petite filet, the meatball flatbread, and the wings.(I don’t eat seafood). My husband loves their seafood specials, the salmon, calamari and their burgers! The wine selection is top notch and they always have a great selection of local beer on tap. You have to check out their week night prefix menu too! A bottle of wine, two dinners and soup or salad for around $ 40. The price and meal can’t be beat!

I’ve been on a quest for the world’s best fish taco, from Hawaii to Maine, and have yet to beat those from Otter Cove. They’re pretty much perfect! Great atmosphere and service, nice outdoor seating in the summer.

Had a fabulous Mother/daughter get-away dinner here! Started with the Rhode Island oysters and clam chowder, and finished with the Asian nachos. Mom had fish and chips. All delicious! Service was great, even on a busy night. Wonderful experience.

«Average fine dining restaurant.» This was a packed, crowded restaurant, often known as an indicator, that it is a popular restaurant. On our particular visit, we had a long wait for the food after we ordered. I ordered a medium rare steak on the rare side and it was medium. Another person at our table also ordered a steak that was overcooked. Our server was new and it affected our meal. Visited September 2015

I’ll start with the fact that they were very busy, but… Service was slow, oysters tiny, Food was cold, and the mashed potatoes were from a box. I gave it 3 stars as we have been there many times before and usually it’s much better overall

Nothing in the menu to go wrong in choosing… But indeed– firecracker calamari is awesome!

One of my go to fav’s in Saybrook. This is a great semi-casual place to bring family and friends. Good food — not too pricy — but consistently good and a nice variety of cocktails and menu options. I love the tuna and fried wanton apps, the clams and linguini and of course the oysters and cocktails — they make a mighty fine dirty martini. Enjoy!

There two stars are for the service and the atmosphere. Our waitress was helpful and very kind. The interior is nicely decorated and the booths are large, comfortable and private. I ordered two espresso martinis which were good. We started with the wings and the firecracker calamari. Wings were mediocre, calamari was tasty– we enjoyed it. Our entrees, the chicken saltimbocca, butternut squash ravioli and chicken & risotto were all very disappointing and in the case of the ravioli and the chicken & risotto, not what we expected out of the plate. Everything seemed previously frozen and each item had a very one demential taste. The menu is a strange mix of American, Italian and Asian dishes– nothing pairs well. Large wine list, though. If I ever came back I would just sit in the bar area for appetizers.
