I always enjoy stopping in to The Kessing Haus Café when I’m in town. It’s located in Oldenburg, just a quick 2 mile drive from Batesville, IN. I enjoy smaller, independent coffee shops, such as this, over franchise coffee shops. The Kessing Haus Café not only has the best coffee that you can get in the Batesville/​Oldenburg area, but it also offers a quiet, charming atmosphere. I would definitely recommend The Kessing Haus Café to anyone in the area looking for a great coffee shop.

This tiny café is absolutely worth stopping in. It’s a must-​go in Oldenburg. It sits across the street from the Beautiful convent of the Sisters of St. Francis. The unassuming brick building it is tucked into does not begin to hint at the incredible charm and warmth inside. The café has been decorated with whimsical care. It is welcoming and adorable with tables, arm chairs, and a little bar. The coffee and espresso are as good as it gets in Southern Indiana, and the scones are to die for.
You will not be disappointed. In fact, I would say that this café has all the quaint charm to make Oldenburg an unmissable day trip for out of town visiters.
