If you don’t care about saving money this is not the place for you. If you have time to shop and time to go a little out of the way to get treated right, this is the place to go. This is not your average tire store. I called Jed’s because I was looking for a specific set of tires. Believe it or not, Wally World didn’t have them. I know, shocker. I’m talking about Goodyear tires. So when I called the number I found on Google, I spoke with a guy that was very friendly and went out of his way to explain things I didn’t understand about tire speed ratings on tires and helped me find the right ones. He had to order the tires but said they would be there by next afternoon. He kept his word. Getting to his shop off of 411 hwy was interesting and you may think that you are lost for a moment, but keep going forward. That’s what makes this place a gem in the rough. Before arriving at his house(shop is just behind) I encountered another motorist on the narrow road that I had to pull halfway off the road to allow him to pass by. I rolled up Jed’s driveway(literally) about 1pm. The tires were there and a group of good ol’ country boys came out of the shop and lifted up my car underneath the awning. Within ten minutes the wheels were off and the new tires were being mounted and balanced. While you wait you can sit outside and breathe in the fresh air on a wood picnic table or sit inside in the A/C if you please. We were told to make ourselves at home and I could tell they meant it. There are various animals there to keep you entertained as well. We played with a calico cat on the table and also saw goats(with a cute little kid) a turkey that was gobbling, and chickens and a rooster! Country music was on the radio and I kind of felt like I was hanging out at a friend of a friend’s house on the patio. By 1:30 tires were going back on my car. I was super excited. So I paid the agreed upon price and was out of there in less than 40 minutes. I hit HWY411 and immediately felt a vibration coming from the tires. I accelerated to 50 then 60 then 70. The vibration was horrible. The tires had not been balanced properly. I took the car back and explained the situation. Jed personally spoke to the guys that balanced the wheels. They didn’t make excuses about the work. They didn’t have bad attitudes. The guys quickly took my wheels back off and re-balanced them. Jed said he would make it right-and he did. I left hoping it was fixed. And it was. Bottom line is I will come back and I would recommend this place to my friends. It looked like they were training a new guy. As long as they make it right and are willing to do so is big in my book.
