After 1 million dollar renovation, the depressingly outdated 19 holes becomes the shining Compass Grill. Finally, I no longer feel embarrassed to bring my friends for an afternoon drink at our East Lake Woodlands country club. New outdoor patio, new menu, new drink lists, new staffs, new members, new weekly activities, Everything is brand new, except one thing, the flavor of the food that designated to cater the preference of senior’s taste buds persists. Still, this new facility attracts many East Lake residents to spend pleasant social time at the club house. House wine costs $ 3 during happy hours group the pretty ladies after a round of golf, and appetizers on both regular and Tavern menu make a good choice for a light bite. Thursday is the pasta night, and during Friday and Saturday, guests get chance to try the Chef’s Special. Cost of meal is «country-club-premium», for instance, a plate of well prepared ‘Chicken Parmesan’ paired with grilled asparagus and fresh linguine cost $ 15. Service charge is 20% and it is billed into your check. I suggest order appetizers for the first time guests. Both Brussels with Bacon from regular menu and Steak quesadilla from Tavern menu are excellent choices. Also, the business casual dress code is required, but blue jeans are allowed in the Compass Grill. Overall, it is a big plus for us, the East Lake Woodlands residents of having such nice facility to get together and maintain an upbeat community. Although, there are rooms for improvement, I have patient to see the exciting progresses taking place at the country club.

The compass grill is connected to east lake woodlands country club. I am not a member, but I was welcomed in and received decent service. We were there to visit a clinic at the driving range and decided to eat. Thursday night is pasta night and we had a good time. The pasta bar had many choices, it was a hit with my 7 year old. I was able to class mine up with artichokes, sundried tomatoes, garlic, and pesto. Not bad for $ 12 per adult $ 7 per kid. This isn’t a world class eatery, but a nice evening with the family. I would recommend trying out the compass grill for a change of pace from the surrounding restaurants.
