The best prices are reasonable and customer service is second to none I wouldn’t shop anywhere else for groceries

Shaker’s grocery store is quaint and like taking a step back in time. It is a hometown, locally family operated and run grocery store. Their prices are more than big box retailers, but they often have sales so look out for those. They don’t have s D much of a variety when it comes to low-fat products. They help you to your car with groceries and you are not supposed to tip. They also have someone who grilles on summer weekends and the food is awesome.

Selling very small, dry, tasteless roast chickens at $ 5.99 is outrageous. One should expect to trade higher prices for the convenience of a neighborhood store, but… The staff is accommodating, but what’s up with those in/out only doors? Very inconvenient.

We have lived a few miles from here for 10 years. We have patronized all the local retails including the big box stores like walmart, costco, target etc. This is the only place that I would go willingly. It’s compact, staff is very friendly and has most things that the other retailers have and the price is only marginally higher. I can zip in and out of the store with only what I really need in 5 mins. Try that at any other store. I don’t feel like I need a nap after I’m done shopping here from all the walking. Most of the bigger retailers are too big to do your regular shopping in. I am leaving the area after 10 years and I must say that IGA is one place I’ll miss. I do not agree with the review about the meat and produce. They get some of the seasonal produce locally. The only beef they sell is angus. I find that the meat is freshly cut and packed on site. If you pick up a roast and it looks red on the outside, you can be sure that’s what it’ll look on the inside too. It is routine that a red or pink cut of meat at the other places will have a sickly grey tinge inside. Try getting the same quality of meat at their prices. The only gig in town that can beat the quality of their meat is Gibbs and that’s 2.5 X more in price. The other retailers don’t even come close. Last week, I spent ½ a day at walmart with my wife picking up back to school stuff, walked and fretted a lot. Did not get everything. I had forgotten to pick up something and stopped by IGA. Their back to school had most of the things and all I would have had to do was stand still and stretch my hands. You get to see the bag boys and kids at the check outs grow over the years and move on. It has been fun watching the circle. There are the older staff who supervise them and you also watch yourself grey with them. Thanks Phil and team. I’ll miss you guys and the old small town charm that you maintain.

Worst grocery store I’ve ever visited. They don’t have half of what the average grocery store would have, even though their space is large. Instead they fill their shelves with junk. The produce is often moldy and dairy past due date. The store itself is filthy and the organization doesn’t make sense. Not to mention that they are just as expensive as Giant Eagle. The only reason I can think of that it is still open is because there isn’t another grocery within 15 minutes for Olmsted TWP residents to frequent. Most of the time it is better to go to the CVS next door.

I would imagine this is what a grocery store from 30 years ago would have felt like… it is a small town atmosphere that is very friendly and welcoming. The prices are reasonable and it is closer than Giant Eagle. Their fresh pepperoni bread is amazing and the meat is freshly cut almost every day. The manager Phil is always there fraternizing with the customers and the even have bag boys who take your groceries out to your car and put them in your car at no charge. Keep it up IGA… You have a customer for life here!
