Three stars may be generous but this is the newest motel in town. The ac is very noisy and the beds are soft. Breakfast is a joke, better to walk to the fast food place next door. The WiFi is almost impossible to connect to and extremely slow. Good thing the rooms don’t cost a lot or else I’d be really disappointed.

Room smelled very bad. AC would only operate 5 to 10 minutes and would trip the breaker.

I’ve grown up in Olney, so I know better than to expect much. So I wasn’t surprised that the room was fairly expensive, some of the furniture was stained, and the room reeked of stale smoke.(All non-smoking rooms were booked.) What I didn’t expect was the four BUGS in our bathroom — three dead, one twitching, the electricity going out for plugging in my phone charger, and the lack of room service. We got moved into a room that smelled worse, but the power worked. When we came into our room in night #2, the bed had been made but the bugs were still in the bathroom. We cleaned up the bugs ourselves, but the VERYNEXTNIGHT there was another bug in front of the Jacuzzi tub. Why do you even bother having a Jacuzzi tub in a hotel that could obviously use that money in other areas? We had saved our towels and reused them for two nights. We left then on the floor for housekeeping, made sure our personal stuff was out of the way. Yet when we came back the third night our bed hadn’t been made, the towels were still on the floor… and another bug had died. I didn’t even bother to mention the paint squares that show they did some electrical work recently and didn’t fix the paint. That was in both rooms(from when they moved us because of the electricity issue), so I’m guessing a good bit of the floor got redone… and apparently never fixed. If I find myself in the area again, I will probably be staying out of town, having exhausted the in-town options.

Ain’t nothing great. Positives include within walking distance to a bar and several restaurants. Really is worn out but there are no decent hotels in Olney.

Location, location, location. Meaning, if you are traveling along non interstate roads across America, finding places like this is a good thing. The absolute essentials are here: quiet, clean, with a reasonable mattress and good variety of pillows. Price was reasonable. There is little to do in this area attraction wise, and the food selection is far from ideal. However, there is not another hotel between here and Saint Louis.

I usually don’t like staying at Super 8s. I still don’t. Smokey, dirty, stains everywhere, and that’s for a freshly renovated hotel!

When we walked into this hotel, it reeked of smoke. Fortunately, our room did not. The room itself was OK, but the location of the hotel was at least a mile through town off the highway. Easy to find, but not especially convenient. There was nothing nearby open the following morning. AM staff was somewhat unprofessional in their dress and lack of hygiene. PM staff was good. Breakfast was one of the most anemic I’ve seen at a hotel. They had exactly 4 muffins, 3 hard boiled eggs, and a handfull of Hostess donettes. There was also Wal-Mart brand bread, 2 bananas, and maybe 3 apples. Hopefully they replenished it as the morning progressed — we were there at the start of breakfast hours. Unfortunately, there aren’t many(if any) other options in Olney, or even for an hour or so in either direction. It’s an OK place for a one-night stay, but try to find breakfast somewhere else.

I don’t go into places like a Super 8 with an expectation of much more than having a relatively clean room for me to sleep in for the night. However, when the sign outside advertises HBO and that channel(per the in-room guide) is actually some sort of QVC-esque commercial programming, I think its less than cool. The same goes for being quoted/charged one price and finding another, lower price listed in the room. Even if its a matter of a few bucks, its the principle of it. I also thought it was cool that the guy at the desk hassled me about my age(25, for what its worth) because you have to be 21+ to rent a room. Oh yeah, and they don’t advertise the ending time of the complimentary breakfast in hopes that you will sleep through it. You can enjoy your cereal, stale cookies and english muffins through 9am.
