Friendly staff, well organized store, great prices!

This place was just OK. I felt claustrophobic and the store seemed cluttered, with plastic sleds strewn down some aisles. I had to avoid tripping over them, which was hard to do in the tight aisles, but I managed. The items they had in their ad were picked through. There were only really small sizes or really huge sizes. I know that those are the most common sizes, but seriously they need to stock more often. I’m not a huge fan of Big 5 for buying high quality sporting good equipment, but their shoes and clothes are really good! If you need some equipment to hold you over, then I’d suggest picking it up here. Otherwise, go somewhere else to get higher quality (but not necessarily more expensive) stuff.

Clean store, helpful staff. Don’t buy anything here that’s not on sale if you can wait– it seems like there is a new circular out every other day and chances are that when the product IS on sale it’ll be a significant markdown.

Great prices on court shoes & athletic shorts. We were well taken care of by staff. The person helping us offered the sale price on a non-​sale shoe (since they were out of the one on sale). The person at the register was careful to notice that the size IN the box didn’t match the size ON the box.
Great experience.

I will disagree with Mr. XX «Grumpy Pants» X. I got great customer service from Phil. He ran all over the store fetching shoes and checking prices for me, until I found what I wanted. Then he opened a till so I wouldn’t have to wait in line too long. Go Phil!
Contrast this to the Lacey location, where a bored-​looking girl let me wander all over the store and offered no help.
The prices are okay on sale and clearance items but regular prices are not good compared to Sports Authority or other warehouse stores, and the selection is more limited.

Saw a good deal on a pair of New Balance shoes. They didn’t have my size and the bored blonde was put out when I asked for a rain check. Then I was told that it would take 4 – 6 weeks to transfer the stock in (really?) all while the uncaring manage stood idly by. Avoid at all costs if you appreciate customer service.
