If this review was solely based on Nicole, the store manager, she would’ve gotten 5 stars. However, my experience began with Irma in alterations and she was rude, demeaning and made me feel embarrassed because my bridesmaid dress did not fit and she suggested that it was because I had gained weight since the time I purchased it. I have not, and even if I had, I do not feel it is her place to say this. She started off my experience negatively, but she brought over Nicole who was amazing. She went out of her way to find me the right size and make sure that it would fit properly, and she brought over another alterations specialist who I believe was named Colleen who was much nicer than Irma. Nicole was friendly, apologetic and overall awesome and really turned around the experience that started as off as sour with Irma. I can’t say enough good things about Nicole. She is exactly what good customer service should be! Thank you, Nicole!

Horrifying behavior by a sales girl, Christina here. She was pushy, rude and so inappropriate we were all in shock. She was forcing dresses on the bride after we were insistent of the style she wanted. I am the sister of the Bride and this young lady basically tried to throw me out of the dressing room, because she thought I was TOO insistent. My sister was so uncomfortable from the get go that I knew this girl needed to get out of the dressing room asap. I told her I had it under control and told her I would help my sister. At which point she looked at me and said «have you been drinking»? What!!! My sister immediately stepped in to stop this sales girl/woman’s bizarre behavior. Needless to say it was awkward, strange and uncomfortable for the bride. The manager asked to speak with us about it because it was not the first time this young lady had an issue. Time to let her go!

All if the ladies here were super helpful! They got my event set up so that my bridesmaids from out of state could easily order their dresses without hassel. They helped look up all the styles and colors that would be available before my event date.

Wanted to feel good in something for graduation regardless of the weight gained from my knee injury (I’m a competitive rower). I was body shamed at David’s Bridal. I’ve gone from a size 10 to a 14 since my injury six months ago and I was only handed size 18 dresses. Then I was ignored. Couldn’t zip them up by myself. I know they heard me crying in the dressing room but not once was I checked on in the 30 minutes I was in there with 4 dresses. I only tried on 2. How is someone supposed to love the way they look when they are constantly treated like shit for being fat. Thanks for destroying what confidence was left before my big day.

Well I’ll fault myself for not dressing to impress, but my fiancé and I were just stopping in because we are getting married within the next two months and still haven’t found a dress. Upon arrival we were prompted to sign in and wait for an associate to help us look for a dress. We want something simple, but beautiful, and we had found it before the associate found us. Before we could explain that we had found our dress the sales associate whisked is away to look at other, less impressive and more expensive dresses, not taking to heart what we had explained, what we were looking for, and had already found. 6 lesser quality dress suggestions later my soon to be wife was finally shown to the dressing rooms where we were left to sit and discuss our ideas about alterations to the dress without the professional input of the sales associate we were «assigned». In fact she couldn’t be found in the nearly abandoned store! I took on her job though, fetching different sizes and suggesting alterations. After a half our of this we were anxious to talk to our associate about what could be done with the dress, approximate cost, and pick up date. Unfortunately she could still not be located. It seemed we weren’t important enough to service, so I guess I’ll keep all my Benjamin’s in my wallet for this trip and find a place that will actually work for their sale and actually help with our questions and suggestions.

What a great location! A friend of mine was getting married and had asked me to be one of her bridesmaids. I couldn’t commit just yet because I wasn’t sure if I would be able to get the time off work to go to the wedding since I just started the job. I eventually got the time off and told her I could go, but I was only able to get a couple days off. So i’d be flying in a few days before her big day. I regretfully told her I shouldn’t be a bridesmaid due to the limited time and the dress factor. All the other gals had gotten their dresses tried on and altered weeks in advance. When I flew in, my friend was insistent on finding a way to have me in the wedding. I wasn’t so sure, but I reluctantly went with her to David’s Bridal. To our surprise, they had the dress than the other gals had, in my size! A few minor adjustments were needed and they assured her they could be done by the following day. what?! That is exactly what happened! We got all the accessories and shoes. and it’s like I had tried it on months ago. So happy that David’s Bridal was able to make this happen for us!

I had a wonderful experience here! I loved the staff and everything was great. Until I started having second thoughts about my dress. I was wondering if anyone knew if they did exchanges? I would even pay the difference of the dress, also would need to return a vail and head piece. Any info would be great!

I’m from San Francisco and was visiting my sister in Olympia so we decided to take advantage of the fact that we were all together (mom, sister and me). We went to David’s Bridal which I was not that thrilled about. I usually prefer locally owned stores to give my business to. I was also skeptical because when you make an appt for a fitting you only get 1 hr. I thought no way will I find a dress in 1 hr! I let go of all expectations and thought if nothing else, it will be fun to try on dresses with my mom and sister. Which it was! And, I found the dress!
We worked with a woman named Mickey. She was great. She picked out many dresses for me to try on based on what I said I liked and thought might look good on me. I also picked out one myself based on the interesting fabric. I put it at the bottom of the pile to try on if there was time.
Dress after dress, mickey was so helpful in getting me into them, pinning them just so but non of them were working. We were at the end of our time. If fact I think at this point we were over our appt time. Mickey asked if I still wanted to try on the dress that I picked out of the rows of dresses. I said sure. Well, I came out of that dressing room and my sister went wild! I looked in the mirror and that was it. I knew I had found my dress!
Mickey then spent probably another hour with us talking about sizing, alterations and how the dress would look bustled, she brought out veils for me to try on and then she brought over the most amazing rhinestone head piece and put it on me. Again, she just knew the right thing! I never would have thought to pick that out. It really brings in the vintage flare I told her about and completes the look. And to top it off the dress was on sale!
I am so thankful to Mickey for helping to create a positive experience for me and my family. She was attentive, knew what she was doing, was so patient and did not rush us. I don’t know if you can chose a fitter to work with but if you can I’d totally recommend working with Mickey.

I am not a mainstream, super store kind of person! Give me the funky little independently owned boutique any day! That said, my mom MADE me go here to check out wedding dresses and I actually found a lovely dress that was super affordable because it had an itsy bitsy teeny tiny little flaw that was hard to notice. I wasn’t settling for this dress, I LOVED this dress. They also had a lot of nice non-​bride dresses, that would actually be great for a dress up event. Definitely avoid the extra stuff they try to get you to sign up for. They had no shoes to speak of. The service is hit or miss. Luckily, I got somebody really nice when I went in the first time. If you don’t like who is serving you, find somebody else in the store, or go back another time (preferably when no one else is there!). All the dresses look the same on the rack, so it helps to have somebody who knows the store and is willing to make an effort to help you, but you can do it on your own too.

4 bridal parties in the salon at 11:00 am. All had an appointment. There were about 10 women in total working (that we could see) and yet we seemed to only be put in a room with one dress at a time to try on. There was a bride, the flower girl and three bridesmaids to try on dresses and yet… one at a time we were handed one dress and in the dressing room we went… We zipped on another up and clipped ourselves in. it wasn’t until the end (purchase time) that we got some real genuine help. of course… that’s when the wallet comes out. The young lady behind the counter was delightful. Overall, I got my dress bought and paid for and that makes the bride a happy girl! ~ Bridesmaid

I’m from Boston, but while visiting a friend in the PNW last week we decided to take advantage of being on the same coast to try on some dresses for the wedding we’ll both be in this fall. Neither my friend or I are model-​sized, and we’ve repeatedly encountered the frustration that comes from wanting to try on dresses (and being prepared to spend a couple hundred bucks on the right dress) and having salons only carry sample sizes, even if you can order the gowns in any size you want. As if you can get a real picture of what the dress will look like on you by holding it up to your chest! But DB is great for this– they carry samples of each dress in every size, so whether you’re a 4, a 14, or a 24, you can still try on the dresses you’re interested in.
Obviously DB caters just as much to the high school prom market as they do to grown women looking for bridesmaids dresses, so it’s about a 50 – 50 split between puffy floaty super-​short dresses, and stuff a 30 year old woman would feel good about wearing. With that said, after having been to a couple of their stores, I will state that the key to a good DB experience is having the right consultant, and boy, did we ever. My friend had been to the DB in Eugene, OR (where she lives) and had a terrible experience, but our consultant Cathy was just a delight in every way. She was excited for us, helped us find shoes and coverups to try with the dresses, and gave honest feedback about the dresses we tried on– no sycophantic «Everything looks amazing!» from her. She gave us space to chat about what we had on, let us take tons of photos, and checked in periodically so we didn’t feel like we were being ignored. It probably helped that we were there at 4:00 on a Wednesday, when we were basically the only ones in the shop, but still– we appreciated every minute of her time.
Neither my friend or I are sure we’ll get our dresses from DB (as thankfully we have a bit of leeway to choose our dresses) but we definitely left this place with smiles on our faces and some solid options for what we’ll be wearing when we escort our friends down the aisle in October. If you’re in the Olympia area and wondering which DB to go to, definitely give this one a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

I didn’t have a good experience here. I was on the search for a prom dress with my friend and we went in, they seemed nice enough. There was a particular dress I saw on their website and I wanted to try it on; they didn’t have it in the store (the employee didn’t seem familiar with the dress), and they said that they couldn’t even look it up on their website. That’s a ridiculous policy.
So then, I told her I was looking for a full length dress for $ 100 or less. She ended up bringing me short dresses or dresses that were more expensive than that. She kept bringing me dresses in designs that I already said I didn’t like. I ended up not getting anything and I am hesitant to go there again because of this experience.

I spent almost 20 minutes today in the store without so much as one of the three women that were working checking on me, even with only one other customer in the store. I felt like I was an inconvenience after the large short haired woman stopped me while I was trying to describe what i was looking for an told me to look around. I guess they don’t make commission. I just wanted to drop a quick $ 300 on a simple evening gown, but I will go elsewhere and most likely find something much nicer. ¹⁄₂₈ was not a good day for this store, and after this first time experience, I won’t be back :(

Received the best service for bridesmaid dresses from Stephanie. She was very attentive and helpful and also wrote down everything we liked. She was very friendly and made our experience AMAZING! So glad we got our dresses here versus some lame boutiques in Olympia. Thanks Stephanie!

The staff were all super nice and helpful, but this cannot overcome the fact that they have the most hideous wedding dresses on the market. Well, they at least give Jessica McClintock a run for their money in that category.
AND they will sell your info to telemarketers trying to sell you all sorts of wedding crap. Avoid.

I have kind of an unusual story, my best friend is getting married and although all of the other bridesmaid are wearing dresses I was given permission to wear a long sleeve shirt with matching vest (I am the über tomboy of the group), as a surprise to her I decided to wear a dress. So with the help of some other bridesmaids I found out the dress style, #, etc and called my local (colma, ca) davids bridal to see if I could order the dress (I already knew what size). Needless to say the davids bridal in Colma was absolutely horrible, they had no customer service and they were not willing to help me order the dress, or even give me other options to get the dress. Well after digging deeper I found that was ONE dress left in Olympia, Washington, so I called right away and just as soon as I called it was ordered for me. The woman (I forget her name) was super helpful and showed she actually gave a damn about my situation, she even helped with my «secret» status by creating a new event in the computer for me so even if the bride went back and looked something up I wouldn’t be in there. In my eyes the woman who helped me went the extra mile and not only made it easy to get what I wanted but also made me feel like my purchase mattered. I got the dress a week after I ordered it, and I’m sure the bride will love it! Thank you Davids Bridal in Olympia, WA… just another reason why I want to move up there from down here in Cali :)

I didn’t buy my bridal gown from DB, but I did go there for my bridesmaid’s dresses. I’ve never had to make an appointment to go in and the girls there have always been super friendly and quick to help. Most everyone’s dresses arrived on-​time, if not sooner. Great customer service!

I was very impressed with this store and David’s Bridal as a company. I bought my bridesmaids dress several months ago. I ordered the dress that fit when I tried it on however the dress I purchased was too small. For months I have been trying to exercise and try my best to close the gap thinking I would have to pay for a new dress. I called the Tacoma, WA store and they said they would exchange it if it was in good condition and that the Olympia store had my new size. The store manager here was so sweet and nice since I had to bring my infant son with me. I was so impressed and I was in and out in less than five minutes, no questions. I was thrilled. It is three weeks before the wedding and now I can relax and enjoy it!

I have been to 3 different David’s Bridal’s in Washington State and have spent more than $ 1700 with this chain between my wedding gown and my bridesmaid’s dresses. The people at Lynwood and Tacoma are rude and unhelpful. The people at Olympia have been nothing but a breath of fresh air. I was so greatful to go into this store yesterday and actually have one of the consultants there to help us! She was FANTASTIC! Even though I live in Seattle, I am considering having my dress alterations done at the David’s Bridal in Olympia simply because I already know that I will be treated well!
