I would give it a 3 ½ stars. The food was good however they need to add garlic!!! Garlic would make it a 5! The scallops melted in my mouth the steak was a little overcooked.

I love how the little bowl of soup in the beginning is something other than the usual miso at Japanese restaurants. The chefs are fun & the servers are always so polite. My steak was tender, but the lobster wasn’t the best I’ve ever had. Be prepared to eat a ton of fried rice if you order it All in all everything was good!

My husband and I visited this establishment on 2−13−16. I was curious about the cuisine because from a far the outside looks descent and it being close to the mall. As I entered I started to have regrets. It was dated and not as nice as I had hoped. The hostess who lacked in customer service could tell I had reservations said, the food is good especially the fried rice and it isn’t expensive. That should have been a clue. My attire, handbags nor speech screamed I would have any concerns about the price. I stated money hasn’t anything to do with it. She irritated me. Lack of class and social norms. I work in a hospital and our patients/customers always deserve great customer service. I didn’t know the type of seating arrangement which is a grill with eight tightly placed chairs around it. I am an introvert and it was a little to close for comfort for me also, too intimate with strangers. My husband ordered Calamari that were sliced thick and were gooey. Not cooked well at all. My husband gagged and it almost came up. My husband told the waitress the situation and she stated in front of the other 14 tightly placed customer(two grill and customers next to one another) I don’t think I can take it off your bill. This is now the second reference to money, this time in front of others. I spoke and said, we did ask you to do that just take it away. My husband stated I have no problem paying for this item. She took it away and we paid for it. This was now the third incident of terrible customer service. I ordered shrimp, steak and fried rice. The rice hadn’t any flavor. Not good at all. The shrimp and steak were good. I was the only one two order shrimp and the cook decided it was ok to give two of my shrimp to two other guest. My meal cost $ 16 I would have appreciated my eight shrimp instead of six. The cook fumbled three of his grill tricks. By the end of the circus act I was done. We waited a while for the check but it was taking too long so we went to the rude hostess again and stated we wanted to pay as she was leaning on her area. She flicked her finger in the direction I had just left and stated I needed to pay my waitress. I said, well she isn’t present so would you mind finding her. I had to walk away and take a breath. I did not want to react to her rudeness. Needless to say I will never return. I’m sharing with others at work and on Unilocal my experience… Now you’ve been informed.

This is my favorite restaurant. I have come here way more times then I can count. The food is incredible, and chefs are very fun and courteous. The only snafu I’ve run into is some of the wait staff is a bit bored and not invested. I could literally drink the ginger sauce

We have eaten here twice and both times have had amazing service and the food is delicious and cooked in front of you. The second visit, the wait was long(45 mins) but so worth it and it was a Friday night and we did not have reservations. The chicken fried rice that you can substitute for white rice is delicious and so flavorful. The portions are bigger than any other hibachi restaurant I have been to.

This place exceeded my expectations. I went here with a group of co workers after work on evening and when we pulled up I didn’t know what to expect based off of the exterior and décor. However the food was amazing. Our cook BJ was very entertaining and he honestly made our experience. I can say without a doubt had he not been our chef I probably wouldn’t have had a positive experience. The alcoholic drinks are watered down. I ordered a sex on the beach and it tasted like straight orange juice. Also, 2 shots of Crown Royal were $ 17. Definitely not what I would have expected.

Food is great! All of the cooks are great. My only complaint is I spend so much money here(I go at least four times a month with friends) and just because we get there first we get sat in the corner. I realize you are trying to fill the table. But for someone who spends at least $ 300 a month there, we should get a good view for once. But hands down best shrimp I have ever had around here. Their sauce is amazing too!

It’s seen better days. The staff is great and nice, but the ownership could really invest a bit in updating this place. It definitely has an early 90s feel without the updates and renovations, while food is typical hibachi and Benihana-like, this restaurant just seems run down based on the bathrooms, tables and overall facilities. Food itself is similar, but just not as cared for and sorta sloppy. It’s good, just not great or memorable.

Hands down a terrible experience. The food was terrible, and we got charged an 18% gratuity for 4 adults and 3 babies. Since they charge by the chair… or high chair. When we asked to speak to a manager she walked away rolling her eyes. Terrible customer service. We have gone for every occasion you can think of and this time the food was terrible and so was the service. Never again.

The food was good and the service was good. We are in the middle of a heat wave and the restaurant was hotter inside than outside. It was 92 outside, and we felt bad for the workers. I would have left if we weren’t with friends. The fans over the grills could be left on, it was better when they were cooking. There’s no airflow without that so the rest of the time it was pretty miserable. I’m also wondering if they use a lot of msg because I woke up this morning feeling terrible. We’ve been to Fujiyama many times. I always think the food is good, it’s consistent. We had a great chef this time. Some are more fun than others

Best fried rice in town and it doesn’t get any fresher! Fun and delicious atmosphere and food. Why don’t we come here more often?

The food is delicious! The service is terrible. I made Valentine’s day reservations for 6:00PM almost a month in advance on January 17th. We were not seated until 6:30. Very annoying, but not the end of the world. This was my first time to Fujiyama, not a good first impression. When we were seated it was exciting seeing the chefs interacting with their tables and I couldn’t wait until our chef came to our table. Our waitress took a very long time bringing drinks to us. My husband and I each ordered a beer and a water. Our beers finally came, but no water. We waited so long for our chef that our drinks were nearly empty and still no water when he came. My stepdaughter and I each ordered the steak and shrimp combo, my husband ordered the New York Steak. It says on the menu that dinner comes with soup, salad, rice, a shrimp appetizer, and veggies. Nobody at our table received a shrimp appetizer. Very disappointing to not receive all that the menu says is included. We also each ordered a second beer and I asked again for water because water never made it to our table. 20 minutes later beer came with only one water and she said she would be back with my husband’s water. His water finally came when we were completely done eating. Our chef was ok, the food had wonderful flavor! But the chef was bland himself. His name was Bobby and he mumbled a lot and was hard to hear. We saw other chefs interacting more than ours and actually spent more time watching the excitement at other tables than watching our own chef. Others were having people catch food in their mouths and there were jokes and a lot of laughing. Everyone at our table looked unammused. When the chef left they asked who wanted desert, we had been there almost 2 hours and just wanted to go home so we declined. Our check was not brought to us until the others at our table were almost finished with their dessert, so we got to sit there and just watch… Our check was over $ 100, I will not go back to Fujiyama unless I was invited for a birthday or event. I will not initiate visiting there again.

I was really excited to try this place, but I never got to. We called 2 days in advance and made a reservation for 8. We showed up 5 mins early for our reserved time, and after watching group after group arrive after us and get seated before us, 45 mins later, we left! The host/hostess was severely lacking in customer service skills… no apologies, just excuses! We won’t be back!

My friends and I met up at Fujiyama for our regular get-together and I was must say that I was kind of excited because I had never been to Fujiyama before. I used the online reservations through the Unilocal app to reserve space prior to showing up. I called two days before to verify the reservation went through and promptly got a call back that the reservation was received. We arrived around 6pm on a Saturday and it wasn’t too crowded but it appeared that there was a high school dance or something because several young’ns were dressed in their finest attire waiting for their names to be called. We got to the table which you can see from the pics is basically chairs seated around the stove/grill area. The waiter got our drink order and then took our entrée order. He seemed kind of puzzled that I wanted just veggie fried rice, but then when I told him I am vegetarian it seemed to make sense. He probably thought, «Who comes to a steakhouse to get rice?» Anyway, there are several other meat free options on the menu, not a lot, but some. They start you off with a hot onion and mushroom soup to cleanse your palate. Nothing special about the soup, just broth and green onions and mushrooms. Just a thin starter soup. Then comes the salad coated in dressing. The salad kind of caught me off guard as it didn’t seem to fit with the Japanese theme, but it was also a general regular salad with some sort of special dressing which was like a mix between thousand island and mayo and something else sweet. There is so much movement around Fujiyama that it’s hard to know who is who. There were several birthdays so people came out from the back to do a somewhat boring version of «Happy Birthday» then retreat back to the kitchen. Then the wait staff hustle and bustle around clearing dishes and refilling drinks and the hostesses are seating people and there is fire going off all over the place due to the«show». Such a refined parade of people that just seems to work. Then our chef came out. He wasn’t too flashy and talked somewhat low, so you really didn’t know what he was saying but had to grin and nod as if the«tricks» he was doing was the cat’s meow. I will say I wasn’t impressed by the«show» and part of the way through I was over it. The meat that was cooked for my friend’s dishes looked to be over good to very good quality with not a lot of fat. The meat was juicy and not overly cooked and very reasonable portion sizes. My veggie rice was cooked separately and brought out in a huge white boat which was slightly overwhelming. Since I didn’t get meat, I guess they made up for that by the size of my rice boat. The food was really good and flavorful though without a lot of heavy seasoning. One thing I will say is that Fujiyama is not an intimate setting if you have a part more than three. It’s hard to talk to each other over the loud banging and sizzling of the chef, the other people talking around you, and the stove fans. We were seated on the«L» part of the table so it was hard to talk around a corner. We were basically yelling the entire time, all the while trying to give the appropriate attention to the chef. Also, just a note, it is appropriate to tip the chef for his time and skills and how impressed you were so have cash ready just in case. Overall, I’m teetering on 3.5−4 stars as it was a nice outing and the food was good. The«show» could have been a bit more in the energy department but I guess it could get tiring if you’re doing it all day.

I think overall the good was very good. I like the fact it was open earlier on a Sunday. Most of the Japanese Hibachi places in this area are only open Sunday evening. The service was kind of slow, but not bad. I think it was probably because the place was not busy. Walking in I thought that the place wasn’t going to be that good, but I was shocked that it was very good. I think for Hibachi it was very affordable. It wasn’t over priced and the grill chef was very entertaining.

Benihana is much better. The water tasted like chlorine, my glass tasted like dish soap. Iceberg lettuce on the yakisoba? Frozen vegetables, meat was chewy and under flavored, not marinaded at all and over done(asked for medium). This was on Fathers Day 2014, so things might be better now. Sorry can’t recommend.

I’ve only ever ordered anything labelled«Hibachi» on the menu here, and for good reason; those items are cooked right in front of you. You are seated around a grill, and a chef comes out and cooks fried rice, chicken, eggs, shrimp, onions, etc. on the grill and does tricks too! I won’t spoil the tricks, but some of them are very entertaining and surprising, and some require great amounts of hand-eye coordination from the chefs. Their displays are also very funny too! The price is quite high, and you can expect to pay $ 25-$ 35 per person, but you get what you pay for with a very funny and entertaining show and a large portion of delicious, hot, fresh food that is cooked right in front of you.

Went for for the first time last night and we enjoyed our time here! it was a little more pricey than what we normally do for dinner but we knew that ahead of time. they have their menus posted on the website. It seems like other reviewers have had problems with the wait staff, but we found everyone to be plesant and very on top of it. We had to wait a bit for our chef because one chef had called in sick at the last moment. they send us out free appitizers while we waited. and we must have been apologized to about the wait like a dozen times. Ordered 2 martinis from the bar and they were delicious. The show and dinner cooking is pretty standard for this type of resturaunt… which was good and pretty fun. It totally depends on who your chef is and who gets seated with you. the food was good, we loved the fried rice! our steak was cooked just how we wanted it. You will not leave here hungry!
