First, let me start with this. I have been a huge Gymboree fan for at least 12 years. My oldest son and daughter wore pretty much all Gymboree. However, when my youngest daughter was born in 2010 I noticed that the material was getting cheaper and cheaper. I still love the designs, uniqueness, and the fact that the clothes are made for little girls not teens. However, with that being said, I have started shopping elsewhere as the clothes are still expensive but made much more cheaply. The clothes stretch out, pill, and look worn after just a handful of washings. I can get kids clothes much cheaper at other stores and they are actually starting to last longer. This store in particular. It is small and is often picked over and like most Gymborees they do not provide changing rooms, and it is always SOHOT in this store. I love the manager and she always remembers my name is very sweet and knowledgable. Here are my gripes. They used to have two little chairs your children could sit in to watch childrens programming but they took them out. I asked why since my kids loved sitting there and I could do my shopping while they chilled out. I was told that«the bigger kids were hitting little kids with them». UMMMWHAT? Seriously? So a few kids act like spoiled undisciplined brats and you remove them for the other well behaved children? Seriously? Then the other day I was in the store getting check out when another shopper came in and asked about a problem she had. She said she had bought a shirt that had been washed and dried one time and it shrunk up and fit weirdly. I told her I had the same problem a time or two. The saleslady then suggested to us that we LINEDRY all of our kids clothes to avoid the problem. The other lady and I looked at each other astonished and mentioned that we did not have time to line dry the clothes. Seriously? You shouldnt have to line dry clothes to prevent radical shrinking. I understand delicates but every piece of childrens clothing? Really? We live in Washington first off and secondly, who has time for this or wants to do this? I dunno, I will continue to buy stuff on sale but I definitely am not a Gymboree only shopper any more.
