This place is kind of an unconventional set up but it actually is quite nice and peaceful! The door going into the Chai place has a sign on it and says that you need to go to the next door to get in which takes you into a beauty salon. There is a door that goes into the tea place so entrance is still pretty easy but they two places seem to be under the same business owner. I placed my order at the counter in the tea shop and then payed at the front desk at the the beauty salon. It’s all good though. Just different. Lol The Chai was actually excellent and my order was done quite swiftly and in a very friendly manner. Everyone in both the tea shop and the salon were.

Do yourself a favor and stop in for a chai. American hippies like to make their chai really spicy and cover up the subtle chai flavors with cinnamon and coves. The chai as this place is not super spicy, it’s a more honest spice level so you can actually taste the delicate chai.

The chai is delicious and hot. Served with a nice explanation too. The lassi is delicious and they say it’s made in the store. The location is inconvenient. I am certain they would do a brisk business a little closer into Lacey or Olympia.

Their Indian espresso is fantastic, and their mango lassis are good too. A little sweet and not as thick as I’m used to, but good nonetheless. It is a little out of the way(at the end of a strip mall complex), but prices are on par with pretty much any other coffeeshop in the area. They are closed on Mondays, and don’t open in the mornings until 8a, however. I would love to come here before work, but alas, I get to work before 8a.

If you love Curry Corner as I do, you’ll like this place. It’s run by the same family who runs Curry Corner for seven years now. Masaala is a small, fast food extension of Curry Corner with familiar items like their famous rice pudding, mango lassi, and grab-and-go curry containers. They added coffee and pastries to the list, too. The one problem is the location. They are out of the way for most people. As a place to hangout with a cup of coffee or chai tea, it’s a little inconvenient.
