These guys are awesome! Travis squeezed me in the same day I called about a rogue check engine light. He and his crew quickly diagnosed and fixed a problem stemming from something the dealer «repaired» earlier this year. When I picked the car up they fully explained everything that happened and the fix — my GTI now runs better than ever. Very reasonable rates, excellent service, expert knowledge and super friendly! Totally recommend.

Ok, it’s the honeymoon phase, so let’s not get too crazy here. Let’s say that I received, from a prior visit to a dealership, some news about my A6’s powertrain and suspension that I wasn’t too keen on; I wanted a second opinion. Glad I did. There is in fact work to be done, but only a small fraction of what the dealership was willing to literally bank on. I am a guy who likes his car to be in top notch condition, so I’m not just going for saving a few bucks.
Here is what I liked best: They showed me the stuff when the car was on the rack. (hopefully that won’t get them in trouble with their insurance people) I’ve turned a good bit of wrenches in my day, and it’s nice to see what’s going on exactly.
If I say more, it will just sound like I’m sucking up, so I’ll leave it at that — for now.

Dropped my 911 off for a coolant issue.
Travis and his crew isolated the issue and fixed my waterpump at a cheaper price than any other indy german shop in the area!
Will definitely be back

New to the area, looking for an independent shop to look after our cars. Great Unilocal reviews, drove over, walked in, greeted by Travis. He took time to show me around the work area, storage area, the cars awaiting service. Introduced me to Nate (owner), shared some stories and chit chat. These guys are definite «car guys»…from the cars that I saw around the place and their stories. I’m sold, bringing all our cars to Olymplia Autohaus. More reviews after my first visit? Possibly. Expectations are set high and I doubt if these guys will fail to perform. Keep up the great work!

The did the 100k service on my BMW, and did a great job. Very professional, and the rates are excellent.
The only criticism I have is the took longer than expected and had my car an extra day. That was a bit of a hassle, but I think they were just being thorough.
I would recommend this place to anyone who owns a European car.

This place is awesome! As a woman, I’ve had one too many mechanics talk down to me, but these people are so great! They explain things in plain english and don’t just try to rack up the charges. I won’t be taking either of my two cars to anyone else!

I have been taking my precious VW golf to these lovely folks since I purchased the car 5 years ago. At the time the were working out of their home in their garage. I was so excited when they finally got a shop! The shop is clean! Beautiful even! I trust my car to NO ONE else and I mean it. They always make sure to fit me in even if it’s something silly-​just because they know how neurotic I am! I am always given the truth about what is going on and given options. They are always honest with me. They will say this needs done now and this can wait if you’re strapped for cash. I hear people complain about prices sometimes when talking about automotive and I understand sometimes money is tight-​but I also know when I bought a VW I wasn’t looking at cheap fixes. I chose to purchase a car of high quality that demands high quality parts and labor. They are happy to help me whenever money is an issue, but I take no issue with the rates they charge. You get what you pay for and I am always happy to pay these amazing mechanics for all their hard work.

I have been going to MJ, one of the main mechanics, for many years before he opened this place with his partners Nate and Kate. A mechanic you trust is worth their weight in gold… that is MJ! He is phenomenal at telling me when it is a necessary repair, when there is a less expensive work around, and when it is merely cosmetic/​unnecessary. I completely trust him, and have NEVER had any problems with his work. MJ, Nate and Kate are all very honest, sweet, caring people who know what they are doing. Hands down, best mechanic shop I have ever been to in my entire life.

I love these guys!!! Seriously, I don’t know where I’d be without them. Probably stranded on the side of the road in middle america.
Everybody that works there is super sweet and trustworthy and knowledgeable. When you are some variety of Olympia Wierdo Lady who knows very little about cars it can be difficult to find people that are respectful and wont talk down to you or sleaze on you or tell you to fix things that really dont need to be fixed or that your awesome import ride from the 80’s is a lost cause.
They will never lack for customers with the service they provide. When they finally opened a garage downtown I was so relieved so that I didnt have to wait my turn to drop my car off at their house!!!
If you are looking for folks that will tell you what to fix now and what to fix later, and will help that sweet German car of yours last a billion years… these are your folks.
I was taking my Volvo Wagon (1990 250k miles) and now my Diesel Mercedes
(1982, 220k miles and going so strong) to Kate and Nate ever since I found out about them, from my dear friend Polly, and have never had any complaints. So nice. Sometimes we bring them snacks or a sixpack. Because they are that cool.

My friend had Autohaus do some signficiant work on his VW diesel Passat wagon earlier this summer. It was totally successful so I checked them out when the clutch in my VW Golf was going out recently.
One of the first things I noticed was how much they were willing to engage with me. They asked helpful questions, gave informed answer to my questions, and made detailed cost predictions that all made it helpful for me to understand what was happening and what my best choices were.
The garage and office was well organized and clean with a full mix of newer model to truly old VW’s. These guys obviously know a TON about VW.
When it came to them actually working on my car, it was totally in and out: it was amazing and super helpful.
They were communicative through the entire process, explained their reasoning behind different choices for parts and workmanship and such. Also, they were super fast for me and super pleasant. Good people.
I doubt there’s any better VW garage around. They’re certianly better than were I’ve been going up in Tacoma and I’m happy they’ve opened shop in Olympia.
