Olympia Lighting Center

After using a big box store several years ago to source all our lighting need I went to this local business to get a specialty item. I was very surprised to learn that I could have purchased all the same lights from them for the same or even less. But the real bonus would have been the expertise and service and guidance I could have used from their knowledgeable staff to help me make better decisions and to have a better outcome for my lighting. Local business is better! Yet another lesson in how much of a difference shopping locally can make.

Love this store! Have bought several fixtures (recessed and wall mount) and LED light bulbs (awesome prices!), and OLC’s quality is excellent. Very reasonable prices and good customer service. Please forgo Home Depot and Lowes and support this local business. The selection and service are definitely worth the extra stop and more limited hours than the big box stores.

We were in search of a unique light fixture for our dining area. We’ve already been to Lowe’s, Home Depot and even drove to Seattle Lighting but our search always ended in vain either because of poor quality, generic design or too steep price. On our way to downtown Olympia, we drove past OLC. I told my husband that maybe we should make a stop on our way back which we did. It is a small store but packed with beautiful, one of a kind light fixtures that really got me excited. There was a sale going on that day and there were some people in the store buying all sorts of things. The prices were a little higher that what you’ll see in Lowe’s and Home Depot but if you’ve done your research about light fixtures, you’ll find that OLC carry the «name brands» which equal quality. I don’t mind mind paying extra $ 100 for something that is unique, beautiful and built to last. It didn’t take us long until we found something that we really liked. The owner Joe and another guy named Tim were very helpful and attentive. The other guys in the store were also helpful but these are the guys who attended to us. It didn’t matter if you’re buying a light bulb or a crystal chandelier, you’ll get the same quality of service and attention from them which my husband commended. We decided to purchase the one that we loved and picked it up a few hours later. Joe and Tim even helped us get the box in our car. Now that’s customer service at its best. I am yet to see how beautiful the new chandelier will be once its installed (which I’m sure it will be) but I’m telling you the service is excellent. I know we have one thing less to worry about the house but the chance trip there was indeed a blessing of sort. We’re already thinking of going back for the matching pair of sconces and the lamp that caught my fancy.

Olympia Lighting is the best lighting store I’ve been in. The selection is very good, but it’s the staff who really make it. They’ve always been very helpful and very nice. I bought about 15 light fixtures here for my new home in Olympia.
