Pleasant Glade Elementary

GENERAL
Pleasant Glade Elementary is such a great school. All of the teachers I have interacted with are friendly and professional. The principal Bruce Walton always greets visitors and parents warmly. The folks in the office are very helpful and do their best to answer questions.
The school is better than I remember it being back in the late 80’s and early 90’s when I attended. Even my former Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Loring, is sometimes there and helps with testing.
SPECIFICS
My daughter has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) due to a speech delay. She works with a Special Education teacher and a Speech Therapist in addition to having a regular Kindergarten teacher. They work together in order to help my daughter reach her goals. They make me feel like a member of the team. During her IEP meeting we discussed her goals and improvement together. They asked for my input and provided me activities to do with my daughter at home when I asked how I could help improve her speech.
In addition, Pleasant Glade is a culturally diverse school. It is open and friendly. On my daughter’s first day the teacher sent home a form asking about our family’s culture with a note saying the school would do it’s best to respect it. This is very important for me to know as a parent.
