Even though Puget Pantry is about twice the distance from my house as Don’s EZ Stop, I much prefer it. Let me tell you why… #1 Reason: The people who work there are MUCH friendlier. I’m not much of a socialite, and I don’t need to become best friends with the people I do transactions with, but what I expect is general friendliness. Puget Pantry delivers, whereas Don’s does NOT. At Don’s, I don’t know if it’s because I’m gender non-conforming, have green hair or look poor, but even though I go in there multiple times a week, they always eyed me like I was up to no good, avoided eye contact and other weird things. It made me feel weird and invalid when I went in there.(Exception: the son and grandmother who work there are awesome and nice.) #2 Reason: Later hours. They’re open ’til 11 on weekdays; Don’s only open ’til 10. #3 Reason: Cheaper pizza. I love pizza. Puget Pantry has Tony’s pizza for $ 5; Don’s cheapest pizza is $ 8. #4 Reason: They do cash back! Unlike you-know-who. Just a $ 1.50 fee w/o purchase. Okay, that’s all.

One of Olympia’s best-kept secrets: Go to the Puget Pantry on weekdays around lunchtime, and if you’re lucky you can grab teriyaki chicken shish kabobs freshly prepared. It’s the owner’s recipe and they are dee-lish. They also have the most competitive pricing on tobacco products in the downtown/eastside area and a good ice cream selection.

Cheap corner store. They have good prices on milk and candy.

Puts Don’s EZ stop to shame! Seriously, I live closer to the bakery and that cornerstore, but Puget Pantry is far better. Decent prices(it’s never a steal at ANY convenience store), totally great workers, nice hours(till 11:30!). Helps me avoid a beer run to the Thriftway(which is shameful, expensive, AND inconvenient).
