Sylvester Park is a decent Olympia institution. It has a wonderful set of fauna. There is a statue of a governor as the park meanwhile sits near the capitol grounds of Washington. Plenty of benches dot the pasture. For multiple times, I have graced this place. It forms an interesting center near lots of shopping. I have encountered the mentally ill here, but the park is still worth a visit. There also is no drinking fountain. Going here around a visit to the capitol might be nice.

This used to be a great place to come and relax. For the last couple of years, it’s been getting more difficult to enjoy the park. It’s become an encampment for tweakers. Olympia’s homeless problem should bother the conscience of our otherwise fine state. These people need homes and meaningful work. They have neither, so many use crank to amuse themselves. Meth will destroy even the most stable of minds. These park dwellers are frequently violent. Even while not violent, watching them rage against hallucinatory visions is disturbing to say the least. The trash that piles up in their wake further eroded the enjoyability of this place. It’s only a block down from the Capitol Dome. I wonder why these people are so invisible to our lawmakers.
