In contrast to the school’s often empty and futile school culture, The Evergreen State College’s Greenery usually had something tasty and substantial to offer. My personal favorites included the cheeseburgers, curly fries, chicken curry soup, black bean and cheese patties, tacos, and lion’s head meatballs. Bön appetite!

I’ve had better, but all you can eat mediocre food isn’t bad when you’re pregnant and hungry all the time. The food is hit or miss. The salad bar isn’t too bad. There is always something okay to eat. My favorite time of the day to go is breakfast. The food is a little cheaper depending on the meal plan you get. I wish they were open earlier during the weekend.

Some days are a hit and I am impressed– some curries and I had a great chicken marinara today, and some days are absolutely miserable and I have completely wasted 7 $ for a horrible buffet. All the coffee mugs are stained, I can scrape residue off with my finger nails– has anyone heard of scrubbing or a SPONGE? Also, the salad in the salad bar is mainly wilted. Some workers are extremely friendly, while others are not at all. They cannot make good pasta, the pizza went uphill and is now downhill, and they do not, for the lives of them, know how to cook vegetables.

All-you-care-to-eat dining at The Evergreen State College. Generally a good selection of local organic options, and they have a selection of options for those that have gluten free and/or vegan diets. Most importantly, you can request any dish made vegan and the staff is actually really nice about making it for you. I love the bread pudding and the tikka masala; the salad bar is almost always stocked with spinach and arugula too! Perfect example of an A-OK spot.
