Sicilian tuna sandwich was so flavorful! Capers and lemon, a little cheddar cheese on lightly herbed artisan bread made me not want to stop eating!

Great little sandwich shop in Olympia! Located next to a organic produce shop for additional snacks. Best sandwich and produce I’ve ever had while driving the 101 to Astoria. Thank you!

Found this place on Unilocal traveling from Portland to Seattle. Definitely worth the stop. My group had the lunchbox caprese, roast beef and cheddar, and the turkey truffle, and we would highly recommend all of them. The Lucky Lunchbox also has a welcoming, causal ambiance. Perfect place to stop and get a good bite to eat!

Hubs and I split the Ham & Pear and the Brisket & Onion sandwiches. The ham & pear was disappointing, maybe because I had high expectations for it. It lacked flavor; I couldn’t get past the spicy mustard. The brisket sandwich, however, was delicious! We ate here around noon on a Saturday. Parking was great. Seating was great. Food was served quickly, hot and fresh. No fountain drinks but decent selection and prices on bottled drinks. No high chairs. Clean bathrooms with changing table.

I ordered a roast beef and cheddar sandwich because they did not have the beef brisket. Though good, it was a small sandwich and to me not worth the $ 9

Are you tired of Meconi’s? Try this place! I work nearby and decided to try this place, I ordered to go ahead of time. I ordered the roast beef & cheddar, I got my sandwich and left. Got back to work to find out that I wasn’t made that sandwich. Instead I was given the brisket on a roll… I was so hungry and didn’t have a lot of time– so I kept it, and ate it. It was very flavorful. The only disappointment was that they weren’t busy and it was only 1 simple order and it was incorrect. Good thing their mistake was still a good one! I enjoyed it, and I’ll be back. But I will make sure I get the right sandwich before I leave next time. It was also a little expensive for a sandwich $ 9.79 with tax and it wasn’t as large as a Meconi’s sandwich… It was much smaller.

Perfect spot for a quick #lunch or take it to go. Easy on and off the freeway. Sandwiches are fresh and yummy with lots of choices. All the #sandwiches are also available as #salads where the bread is replaced with a bed of baby lettuces.

Had a tasty«boar» cuban the other day. Simple sandwich with great flavors. My perfect cuban would have a bit more meat, but this was pretty good. Wasn’t as much a fan of getting a macaroon as one of the sides. It was just a single coconut macaroon — for the price I was expecting an actual French macaroon, or at least getting a few.

Small shop but great sandwiches, my favorite part is the risks they took with some of their creations. Last time I got the«HAM&PEAR» which has oven roasted ham with slices of poached pear, spiced walnuts, sharp cheddar and a spicy mustard spread on our artisan roll. It was so good!

Was really disappointed in this place. I walked in and the guy looked absolutely pissed that I had entered the building. I’ve never been there before and had mentioned that, he looked even more annoyed and just blurted out, you ready? They are open from 10 – 4, I walked in at 1:30pm, so I’m not sure what this guys problem was. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich. It was so tiny! 9 $ for a measly little sandwich. It was listed as having camelized onions, gorgonzola cheese and a garlic ailoi spread, could not taste anything but the brisket, which was pretty dried out. The bread was tasty but super greasy. Will not be back.

You can’t go wrong with any of these fantastic sandwiches. The caprese and the beef brisket are particularly good.

What a nice place! It is virtually a lunch box in itself. There is a counter/order area and a few tables. But oh what they do in such a small space! I was impressed with the freshness of the sandwiches(made to order). And the cleanliness of the store. This is a quality café. Not like a local place that peddles bread(cough cough). Another visit or two trying a few more lunch choices will probably get that extra star from me.

We have eaten here 3 times. I fly to SEA often, but find myself wanting to drive these days. You guessed it. Every time I drive through Oly, I exit the freeway and hit the Lucky Lunchbox! The food is out of this world… Try anything on the list. I am always amazed at the flavors! and…grab a macroon or 3 before you leave… Trust me!

The shredded beef sandwich with carmelized onions was very tasty, the vegetarian sandwiches I’ve tried were okay but I won’t order them again. The salads are good and the soups I’ve had are excellent.

This was my first time in, and I love the menu. There are several things I’d like to try. I had the hot brisket sandwich, which had incredible flavor, but was very greasy, which gave it a bit of a yuck-factor. I also had a side order of couscous salad. This was very disappointing. I love traditional couscous salad, with feta, olives, tomato, mint, lemon… etc. This was lemony, and had tomato, but it was super mushy. I like mine crumbly. The taste was okay, but not great. The texture was inedible to me. I threw it away. I would have loved to give them a better review, and will try again, since they have so many great sandwich combos on their menu. The woman who made my lunch was very nice.

What a great little sandwich spot. The inside is cozy and the service is excellent– When we arrived the two ladies behind the counter were both very friendly and attentive to our orders. I went ahead and got the Sicilian tuna but switched the rye bread for a roll. The other items on the menu looked good too– I would have loved to try a few more of the sandwiches. The tuna was flavorful and I certainly enjoyed it. It was slightly dry-I think I would have possibly enjoyed an accompanying dipping sauce, but that could just be my preference. Overall I’d certainly return to this friendly atmosphere to have a bite to eat! p. s. use the restrooms because they smell excellent due to the coffee shop next door! :)

I absolutely love this place. The only thing I’m sad about is, I live right around the corner from here and it took me a year to finally try their food. I’m attempting to make up for lost time. I ate there 4 times last week and had quite a few tasty sandwiches. The Beef Brisket is by far my favorite. I had another called the Hammy Wammy which had ham, cheese, roasted red peppers, tomatoes, and tomato bisque soup was drizzled on and baked into the ham. The turkey truffle was a nice basic cold turkey sand. I also had the Smokey Chicken sandwich which was quite nice. I also love going there because the staff are all very friendly and seem happy to be working there. That makes a huge difference to me.

consistency is key it’s a bit disappointing that after my last experience at the lucky lunchbox, where i had such a wonderful sandwich and soup, to be so let down. though their customer service is still spot on, their sandwiches are seriously lacking. For one, the caprese sandwich was very disappointing. Who puts lemon juice as an ingredient for a caprese sandwich? It should be more pesto, basil, pinenut, walnuts(if they want to go a little more fancy) and garlic, not lemon. If people really like the lemon taste, maybe offer a lemon wedge as a side? It was major taste confusion. and the mozarella should not be melted. it takes all the flavor out and leaves the bread soggy. They must have changed their recipe for the mushroom soup because it was WAY too creamy, heavy and the balance was really off. i mean, if you can see a veneer of oil at the top that doesn’t go away with stirring, there’s something wrong. My husband’s turkey sandwich was filled with dried turkey and not enough condiments or sauce to really give it any depth. the bread was borderline stale. I’m looking forward to the lucky lunchbox providing consistent service delivery, and until then… i’m going to have to just stick with their chicken salad.

My first visit here at the Lucky Lunchbox put me in the winner’s circle with a ½ cold sandwich, Chickpea Salad on Rye, and ½ salad of portobello mushrooms & pasta. Both created a tasty yet light summer late lunch on a sunny warm day. Just ask for the password for the secure wifi which is taped to the wall. This first time warrants a second visit.
