Varsity Espresso

I love this coffee stand, for starters they serve white coffee for those like me who need caffeine but hate the taste of coffee. They have unique flavors of the day and are always super pleasant!

I’ve decided that I have had enough of Starbucks (I hear gasps from Washington-​ians. lol) and decided to check out the local coffee shops around town.
I took to Unilocal!, as usual, and found Coffee by the Pound. Even with directions from my ever dependable navigator though, I STILL miss and pass by this place. So…
TIP: They are located in the parking lot of Animal Services which is a lot easier to spot than CBTP.
Ignorant as I was that this place is only drive thru, I parked my car and walked up to the window. Sydney, the young lady that took my order, was kind enough to let me know walk-​up is also as good as drive-​up but since she was helping the guy in the other window, I have to wait a couple of minutes.
I did not wait long though and I ordered my White Mocha Blended — equivalent of what’s-the-name’s «frapuccino.» Sydney made my order swift and it was TASTY! Tasty as in the sweetness of the blended coffee is very well balanced with the coffee itself that it was not ovewhelmingly sweet like they do in the «mermaid» franchise. It definitely HIT THE SPOT.
I gave this place a five-​star not because of the free wi-​fi (I don’t think they have any) or the «hipster» ambiance/​décor or their «central» location. I gave this place a 5-​star rating because I wanted a QUICK (read: would not take me 10 minutes to get from when I placed my order), no-​fuss (not a gazzilion choices between soy, 2% or no fat milk) iced frapuccino that is inexpensive and HONESTLY tastes good. THAT is what I got and I felt good supporting a local business in the process. Can’t get any better than that.
