Weiks Wild Bird Shop

This darling little shop has been here for decades. Judging my other conversations I overheard, it has a loyal fan base. And yet I’ve never been here and there are no Unilocal reviews!
I’ve lately started to notice and enjoy birds — they are so sweet and cute! I tried to jerry-​rig my own bird feeder but quickly realized I needed professional help. Did a search and found this place.
This store is half bird feeding and half floral. The bird feeding side has so much packed into a tiny space, from floor to hanging from the ceiling! Tons of different humming bird feeders (including Hummzinger) and regular bird feeders, as well as tons of accessories like stands, catch trays, and things to keep the squirrels off. They have a wide variety of bird seed and suet blocks, including in bird seed in bulk and stalks of millet or whole cobs of corn. They also have squirrel feed! Strange to me, but true.
The floral side was strange to me — expensive (but beautiful) houseplants, gorgeous artistic glass vases, little figurines, stuffed animals, mugs, greeting cards, handmade-​looking glazed clay pots, candles, etc. But it was very lush feeling, kind of like stepping into a jungle. The atmosphere was very restful and relaxing.
The people who work here were VERY nice and very knowledgable. They were able to answer my million questions, and made sure to tell me things I needed to know but didn’t know to ask.
