AMC Oakview Plaza 24

I saw The Revenant here with my family on a Sunday. The movie was great. There was just one very large problem — a gigantic black dot on the screen. After the opening sequence, I went out to the lobby to ask for the lens to be cleaned. I found another gentleman from my theater was already addressing the same problem. The unapologetic young attendant informed us that actually it wasn’t the lens, but a problem with the screen. She gave us both free passes, and turned away. (Why didn’t I just leave? I wanted to, but it’s been years since the whole family has seen a movie together so I stuck it out.)
You might be thinking, «A black dot… What’s the big deal?» I’ll tell you. The black dot was stationary, but obviously the camera moved. So essentially, there was a huge black dot moving back and forth across the picture. So with a stark landscape and a constant panning of the camera, this «black dot» became a main focus. At one point, I thought someone was sneaking up on Leonardo DiCaprio. But have no fear… it was just the trusty black dot.
After the movie, a stream of people went to complain. I was at the helm, and asked for a manager. A very nice teenager appeared so I knew he wasn’t the decision maker. Very nicely I asked how long this black dot had been a problem. «Since Friday,» he said. (That’s three days.) Then I asked whose decision it was to keep the theater open. He said it was the general manager’s decision.
In my head, I was thinking, wow! I hope the revenue generated from this theater was worth alienating dozens of customers. I asked to have the GM call me. (It’s been at least two months, and I’m still waiting.) While I was writing down my contact info, the rest of the theater had their chance to complain. Have no fear — the employees had their trusty «free passes» ready, and gave them out like candy. As if anyone wants to see a movie at AMC 24 again.

The age of this movie theater is really starting to show. You can tell everything is starting to fall apart, especially the parking lot. You really have to swerve them potholes, some are about 3 feet wide and 1 feet deep. The concession prices are so high I almost had to call my bank and take out a line of credit just to afford a bag of popcorn. On top of that, the popcorn was so salty, It felt as though my tongue was about to shrivel up and disintegrate into dust. They don’t have people selling tickets out front anymore, you just have 1 counter in the front you buy from. The screen in the theater I was in was small and mediocre, and the colors were dull. The sound was way too loud, and I had to cover my ears a few times to avoid suffering permanent hearing loss. I think I’ll go elsewhere, I only came here for the nostalgia factor.

Not the best, not the worst. Definitely in need of some tlc, But aside from the occasional box of spilled popcorn left on a bench, it’s a clean facility. And the variety of movies, from simulcasts to indies to operas to the regular Hollywood fare, makes this a good choice. But again the place needs some tlc, including the need to upgrade the seating. What they have now was comfy compared to other theaters 15 – 20 years ago. Now? Ordinary theater seats compared to the recliners in orher places. So yeah, as I said not the worst, not the best.

Old. Not old enough to see an R rated movie, but like old enough to sneak in after buying tickets for a PG13 film. We came here to watch Hateful 8 as it is the only theater in Omaha that is still playing it.
There were only a handful of others so we got to sit where we wanted. I usually choose the row closest to the middle railing so I can put my feet up. Tonight was perfect. 4 seats, nobody else in our row. If I were to have smuggled in some candy and bought soda and popcorn it would have been pretty alright. OK, so it was pretty alright.
The movie was extremely long and by the end my butt was numb. Not comfortably numb like Pink Floyd alludes to, but sciatic numb. The seats have no range of motion and there was trash from the earlier showing. Like 6 hours before.
I used to work at a theater and when I did, I was a rock star at school. Try to get the most money and deliver the least amount of work.
The popcorn was OK and the refill of soda was fine. The video games did not work correctly and I can see this theater going to the wayside.

Since this theatre is closest to my home, it’s been my go-​to movie house for years. However, it’s now run down with uncomfortable seats and dilapidated bathrooms. I’d rather travel a bit to have a more comfortable experience.

in town visiting. I used to come here all the time 10 years ago when I lived here. this place is filthy! the theatre looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in weeks. ew.

Food offering low end of the totem pole. Seats are awful. Took 25 minutes to get a hotdog because they weren’t cooked. Really? Too many other great theaters that have upped their game. Glad we have choices because this theater is now completely off my radar unless they want to step up to the plate.

This is just an okay theatre at best. 3.99 tickets before 1600 is fantastic. It is hard to find tickets that cheap anywhere.
The problem here is the seats. They sit completely straight up and don’t recline the slightest. It can get pretty uncomfortable sitting without any type of leeway for 2 hours.
Place is clean and ticket prices are great. Just gotta decide if you want a more comfortable and relaxing seat.

Seen many movies here over the years.
It really used to be the go-​to theater in Omaha for many years (especially in the 1990s and early 2000s). I think its popularity was part of its doom. It started attracting a bit of a thug crowd from all over and that was a turn off for a lot of their local West O clientèle. That coupled with the slow decline of the Oak View Mall area in the 2010s is why this place is sort of Omaha’s «has been» theater. A lot of their customers have shifted over to Marcus Village Pointe Cinema.
The concession areas that used to be at the north and south end of the theater have been closed down and video games now sit in front of them. Only the main/​central concession remains.
It’s still a decent theater and shouldn’t be avoided, but it lacks the polish and popularity it had in its youth.

This is my favorite theater I’ve found in Omaha so far. The prices are cheap and the seats are comfortable. You really can’t ask for more from a theater. Oh and the popcorn is pretty good too, although I’ve only eaten it once.
I guess I’ve never noticed the issues with the bathrooms other people talk about or the issues with the sidewalks. (which in my opinion are just sidewalks and assuming there aren’t huge holes why do I care?)
My only complaint is it’s so far out of the way for me that I often end up at the other AMC which isn’t as good.

I only go to this theater for two reasons anymore. It is an AMC theater and I am a devout Stubs member to that club and avid movie goer so I collect my rewards accordingly. The other reason is that they play independent movies that are not always shown at other theaters around town. This theater has been in disrepair for many years with no attempt to fix it. The bathrooms have been in shambles for a long time and now other things are following. The whole walkway out front looks more like a crime scene. They have drawn what looks like chalk outlines around the broken cement. It has been that way for many many months. The seats are all old, crusty, and tired. I would think with as many theaters as they have here (24) they could update at least some of them with the new recliners that all the new theaters have. Oh well. I will end this on a positive note, they realize that this theater is less than so they lowered the prices! You can see a movie here during prime time for about $ 3.50 less per person than at a regular theater. They have also put in a new McGuffins bar to keep up with the AMC deal. I can only hope they have plans to renovate the theaters and bathrooms and front walkways surrounding the bar so it doesn’t look so out of place!

We somehow missed American Ultra and couldn’t catch Hitman: Agent 47, so our last choice was Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation which turned out to be really good!
I love the seats! Everyone should watch movies in these barcaloungers. Some theaters remind you of sitting in an airplane all the time and your legs are all swollen, that’s why girls don’t usually wear heels to the movies, if they do, they probably take them off secretly in the darkness without telling you.
Pizza was actually quite tasty. I didn’t want any greasy food at first, but after watching my husband devour a whole box in two minutes, I bought one for myself, too.
A boy tried to slam dunk his drink into the trash can, and of course, he missed, so the ice cubes were splashed everywhere, and of course, he just ran away… and of course his mother saw everything and just kept walking… and of course, a teenager staff shrugged and cleaned up the mess.
Someone sitting behind us kept throwing napkins to the old couple sitting next to us, and a baby was screaming over PG-​13 previews…
Oh right, good picture and sound.

Four of us had a great time seeing Ant Man! The audio and video were amazing, and as good as any theater I have been in anywhere else in the country. Seats are comfortable. Food was hot. Drinks were cold. Lines moved fast. And the crowd in our theater was well-​mannered– not that they control that, but the Oakview crowds seem to be more docile than other theaters in Omaha. Parking is pretty good, but I would like to see security patrols since some cars must park nearly 100 yards away. Four stars because of the infamous theater food/​drink prices, but that’s all part of it I guess.
Side Note: Paul Rudd is hilarious in Ant Man :-)

I’ve been very spoiled in Omaha and Council Bluffs with the reclining seats snd immaculate theaters. So my review is based on the fact that I’m a spoiled movie brat.
We came to this theater on a whim, didn’t even know it was out here had we not been looking on google maps.
The movie prices for the matinée are cheap!!! It was $ 9 for two… score. We just had lunch, so we bypassed the snacks but they have all the usual movie goodies.
They have a legit arcade and the bathrooms have an awesome lounge area… super random but super legit.
The theaters are standard theaters but the one we were in (18), reeked of mildew. The seats are pretty stained as well. Hence the two stars.
Not bad for the price but will probably stick to my reclining seats from now on.

I used to work at this theater when I was in high school! I can see a lot of changes have been mad since then! Some good some bad! The bad is all the staff it seems like isn’t very friendly. The girl who took our order at concessions did not smile did not say hi anything. When I handed her my credit card to pay she held it in her hand like wtf is this, and I asked her if there is something else she needs and she didn’t say anything and stared at me then scanned my card slowly and weirdly. There was no thank you or have a nice day. The girl who sold us our tickets at guest services however was very friendly and gladly helped us. I like how they have added the bar! It’s certainly an old theater but it’s big so they are able to offer many movie choices and times! I hope they get the dream lounger seats sometime soon because the only reason I ever go here is the $ 5 movies before noon. Otherwise I usually go to a nicer theater!

It’s a bit of a drive to come out here, but it’s certainly worth the trip… the seats are probably the best in Omaha, or at the very least one of the best… the popcorn is always good, and if you come during matinée pricing, the ticket is fairly reasonable… the snack area can be a hassle if there’s a massive crowd… Westroads is closer to me, but this is where I prefer to go…

My favorite theatre in Omaha. Lots of screens, always clean, great picture and sound. Stubs program is great compared to other theatre reward programs in town. Staff stresses me out a bit now and again but what do you expect from minimum wage teenagers. Otherwise I’m happy.

Disappointed. 1. The outdoor speakers crackled as though not on the radio station?
2. They want $ 12 for «stub membership.» (Markus is free!)
3. No toilet tissue in the nasty restrooms!
4. No salt in the concession shakers.
Positive, the popcorn was good.
Hope it was a holiday fluke. Will think twice before coming back.

This is the theater that I frequent the most. I love that there are so many theaters in this location because they offer multiple showtimes for different movies. The theaters itself are usually pretty clean, sometimes you’ll find a seat or two that have stains on them but you can easily solve that by sitting somewhere else.
I especially love that they hold 8pm showings for movies that are just released. It’s nice being able to go in that early to see a first show than to wait until 10 or midnight. Matinees can never do you wrong at this theater either, at $ 4.50 a showing for early morning or before 6pm showings, that’s a winner in my book!
There was one time a few of us went to see a movie and the film was having issues, we told the staff and they kindly let us see the next showing in another theater and gave us passes for another movie for the inconvenience. I love that they do their best to make the customer experience a positive one.
Overall I would recommend this theater to anyone in the area and to take advantage of the great prices in the day time!

Can all movie theaters please look like this? I can’t even really describe it. But the seats are different and better. The spacing and set-​up is all different and better. And the IMAX theaters are just crazy awesome.
The rest of the theater is standard. Standard main area, concessions, ticket booth, etc.
The lines can get long, so definitely opt for advance purchase and save yourself 15+ minutes.
Overall, a pretty great place to catch a new flick.
