The Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium is large, so at some point you will want to escape the heat/cold(depending on when you visit) and sit down to eat/drink. The other eateries in the zoo are mostly outdoors, so you’ll have to deal with the weather elements… that is where the Durham Treetop Restaurant scores some points… 5 stars for the superb view… not very many high-end restaurants that I’ve been to around the world can beat this view of the zoo’s rain forest exhibit. The food menu has Grill items(mostly burgers/sandwiches), Desserts, Snacks, Salads & Deli. The platters are a little pricey for a cafeteria-styled restaurant, but I guess you pay premium for the view(–1 star). The lady who took our order was super friendly, so she scored some good points with me. She helped us with the popular items on the menu and the best seats in the restaurant. Wife and I ordered the following: — BBQ Beef Burger with cheese — $ 5.95 +$.99 for cheese — Cheese Burger Platter — $ 10.25 — 16OZ Soft Drink — $ 3.25 When we got here(@ 2 p.m. on a Monday), there were only 4 families in the restaurant… it was mostly empty, so we got some of the best seats with great views of the zoo’s jungle tree tops and animals. Wife INHALED the BBQ Beef Burger with cheese, it must have been great to go down that fast! My Cheese Burger Platter was good, a little pricey compared to other places I’ve eaten, but it was good. I guess when you are hungry everything tastes good! Wife though that this restaurant can also be a great place to host an event(wedding/party) given the view and expansive room. I know if I come back visiting the zoo I’ll be stopping by… not sure about all the other negative reviews on here… I guess everyone has a different experience.

Some of the worst food I’ve ever paid for. I would’ve preferred to eat at a hospital.

The Treetops Restaurant isn’t bad. The absolute best part of it is that you can escape the heat for a while in their air conditioning. The price, for what you get, it high. But that is to be expected at «The Worlds Best Zoo.» The food is pretty good, but the part I find most annoying is the food all comes out at different times which makes it very difficult for a family to coordinate getting to the cash register at the same time to pay. But overall, if you are eating at the zoo, I would recommend it. Oh, and the view overlooking the Lied Jungle is amazing.

Lots choices here at the Henry Doorly Zoo’s restaurant. Here you are able to get your typical grill items such as hotdogs, burgers and fries. But you can also get healthier options such as salads, turkey sandwiches, PB&J’s, fresh fruit, etc. The food is pretty good and the seating area is great. Prices are a little steep on some of the items but reasonable on others.

Basically, cafeteria-style restaurant. Good place for the kids to take a break from the long walks around the zoo. The food is reminiscent of any other amusement-like park: overpriced drinks, fries, curly fries, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, burgers, nachos, Mac and cheese, etc. I had the burger and thought it was fine. There’s an over-sized glass window, which allows one to see inside the indoor jungle. My daughter was pretty entertained with watching the monkeys swing around while she’s eating her pb&j. The place is nice and clean and the food was standard.
