I’ve flown out of this airport quite a bit in the last few years and well, it’s pretty pretty small. Seems like every time I’m there I see some lil old ‘braska farm couple who haven’t been on a plane since the seventies and are confused about this big city airport. It’s adorable. Parking is reasonable and there are quite a few options if you want either covered and close enough to smell the jet fuel, or economy with a shuttle, and then budget which I’ve never used but I’m pretty sure has you parking out in some cornfield. Lines are never really too bad because the airport is so small and getting through security has never been faster. There’s hardly any place to eat though, so be prepared. Once you get through security, you’re pretty much stuck with coffee and a few snack options. There is a food court with your avg fast food places, not easy to find food for people with a gluten allergy. The Hangar is a little restaurant that serves the usual chips n salsa and some fried stuff, I’ve been successful with some salads here though. There are two terminals, A gates and B gates. Both areas have a small coffee place, some reasonably new chairs and a pretty good amount of the ever coveted charging stations. It’s a pretty clean airport, people are Midwestern friendly, and overall it’s not a bad place to hang out for a bit. If you have several hours to kill though, you better have electronics to keep you entertained.

Unilocal popped up that I should review this with«You’ve checked in here X times! What keeps you coming back?» well, the short answer is I live in Omaha, and its the local airport. So being a business traveler, theres not a whole lot of other options. The long answer however, is that OMA is probably my second favorite airport to fly through, and I’ll tell you why: — you’ll never wait in the security line longer than 15 – 20 minutes. — the TSA agents at OMA are not your typical Gestapo highschool/police academy dropouts that still wanted some sort of badge and authority, and while yes, the TSA is security theatre, the agents here have been very friendly every time I’ve come through. — the food in the terminals is reasonably priced. Its not like going to the 5 guys in ATL and spending $ 15 for a $ 5 burger. — You can show up 45 minutes before your flight and still make your flight. — They’re an Über/Lyft friendly airport. — It’s a smaller airport so you aren’t having to run across 7 terminals and take 2 trains to get to your next flight if you happen to be connecting here.

This place doesn’t know how to unload a plane I stand inside the freezing sky walk for almost 20 – 30 minutes every time after I get off plane waiting for my bag Friendlier today…

I don’t generally review things that aren’t restaurants, especially something like an airport in Omaha where there isn’t much choice in the matter… So all that is to say I’ll keep this brief. My single best piece of advice is to try and eat before you come here. Also take a Lyft or Über. In terms of logistics, it’s a quick airport. For an average day, hour ahead of your flight should be enough time to get through security and to the gate before they start boarding.

A very efficient and impeccably clean airport. There isn’t much for food here but there is the hanger lol for bloody Mary’s before your trip if that suits you. The security part is thorough yet still manages to run swiftly, I think you’d really have to try to miss your flight here or just have horrible planning skills because this isn’t an airport where you’ll be held up with mass lines everywhere or anything like that.
