I like that the store is regional and local and easy to get to. I’ve been buying from Gamers for years. They have a wide selection of new and used games, along with their compatible consoles. I’ve bought a Wii and a 2DS from here and both work fine, along with games for half a dozen systems. They clean scratched discs, too, which is a bonus because of how often my discs get dropped.

These folks at Gamers purchased some items from me on eBay and then returned half the items and broke the console in the process. They took the box and manuals from the bundle sent to them originally and didn’t return them. Very dishonest and abusive business practice. You are much better off buying your gaming items on eBay or your local Craigslist. Take my advice and get your games elsewhere unless you enjoy getting taken advantage of.

When I was finally able to get one of these kids to help me(they were busy standing around), they sold me a Sega GameGear. I got it home, and the sound didn’t work. Called them and they told me they had another one in stock and I could exchange it. Got that one, and this time it wouldn’t play games at all. So not only did they not test my GameGear… They didn’t test TWO GameGears. I imagine they don’t test anything they get in, and they will never be getting any business from me again. Don’t buy anything from here.

I was very pleased with my visit to Gamers. We were picking up a last minute gift for my finace’s younger brother who still has a PS2. We were out and about and decided to stop in quick even though it was about 5 minutes to close. The employee was super nice, he didn’t seem to mind at all and he helped us find the game we were looking for. The store looks nice too, much more well kept than it’s counterpart on 72nd. It does seem a little bare when you enter, but they do have a pretty decent selection.

Gamers used to be the place where you could get some incredible deals on games and they had a great selection of retro games and systems. The trade-in value they offered has always been pretty bad but they made up for it with decent prices. After they moved to their new location and switched to their new store format things started going down hill. The selection has dwindled, and the prices have continued to go up and up. The staff seems friendly and knowledgeable but it seems like they have too many people working there. I got bombarded with employees asking me if I needed help with anything(some would call this good service), but it’s a small store and I could just walk to the counter if i needed help with something. I really don’t like being pestered when I’m just trying to browse. I don’t think I’m going to be returning here anymore because of the poor savings and selection.

Gamers is famous for… games. You buy, sell, and trade games and game equipment here. Unlike Game Stop or EB Games, Gamers accepts games that date back when Michael Jackson still looked like a black guy. They still won’t accept PC games. As with any game store that buys games from you, don’t expect much, even if the games are on newer consoles. When I sold old Gameboy Colour and SNES games, I was surprised that they only went for 20 cents apiece. I can’t even buy a half-pint of milk at school with that! I’d recommend eBay or something else, unless you just want to get the old games out of your sight. Also, store credit is larger than actual cash, for those who don’t know. The staff here was friendly and greeted everybody who came through the door. Also when the clock struck three, people poured into the store — staff and customers alike. I guess 3 pm is a hot time here, otherwise it’s as empty as a Royal’s game.
