Gloss Salon & Day Spa

Mattie and the staff at Gloss are amazing! I’ve been going there for ever since I moved to Omaha and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Mattie always gives a great haircut and is great to talk to. The receptionists always know my name and always offer me coffee.
From a guys perspective I’d certainly recommend Gloss. They have so many other services like massages that I highly recommend.

I have always had great service from their friendly staff. THE place is always clean and organized. THERE always on time, no waiting.

I called to book a massage and the receptionist was very nice. I was able to get in at a convenient time and I appreciated the text reminder.
On arrival I received a welcome pack for new customers with coupons off of service and products. The massage choices were a bit daunting and all included additional charges with different oils, treatments and aromatherapy.
Melissa R was my therapist and she was excellent! She asked a lot of questions about what I wanted and was very focused on providing a good experience. The massage was very relaxing and I received just the right amount of pressure. She really helped the back and shoulder tightness I was experiencing. I will definitely reschedule with her.
I felt the price was a bit high but I knew what to expect going in. With the added options it does make it higher than other places I’ve been too which is why I give it 4 stars. You do get a discount however when you book again.

I went here for a cut/​color and left pretty upset. I have curly hair and the women who did my hair just did not to a good job. I have never actually called to request a refund before but in this case, I did because it looked so bad. The returned my email right away and I went in to have Micah look at it and she kindly offered to donate her time to help fix my hair today. The cut already looks better and I appreciate that she did not make me feel like my feelings were unreasonable.

I debated with myself for a few minutes about whether to give Gloss a 2 or a 3-​star rating. I settled on a 2 for the following reasons: good stylist, clean salon, good products, poor customer service, misleading web prices, left with a bad taste in my mouth.
First off, the salon is pretty standard as far as décor goes. Comfortable, clean, fairly modern. They do have quite a few product displays right as you walk in… too many in my opinion. They take up a large area of the lobby. The front desk is too small to help more than one client at a time. There were two customers in front of me and it seemed to take a while.
This was my first time at Gloss and I was assigned a stylist at random. She was pleasant and clearly experienced. She didn’t seem all that interested in getting to know me, but made a modest effort to keep up some small talk. Maybe she’s got all the clients she needs. Her consultation was great, she asked a lot of good questions and I had a clear picture of what the game plan was. Then came the wash. OMG… best hair wash I’ve ever had. The scalp massage was at least 4 minutes and quite heavenly. She was perceptive to notice that I have frizzy hair and told me she was washing with frizz dismiss products. The wash was the best part of the experience!
The haircut itself was good and she took her time making sure everything was even. My only complaint there is that she didn’t show it to me before she started drying and styling it, but to be fair I didn’t ask. She did a cute summer braid style and walked me up to the front desk. Over the hour service together she offered me three services/​add-​ons. More and I would have minded but she kept it low key.
Ok, now for the bad news. Once I got up to the counter, the receptionist quoted me a price a good $ 15 over what I had expected. I told her I’d seen a lower price on their website for a regular cut and style. She explained that there are several levels of stylists and that my stylist’s services cost more. I told her that I had randomly been assigned a stylist and that none of this was explained to me on the phone when I booked my appointment (as a first time customer). She basically shrugged and said well, that’s that. I continued to ask questions, mostly to make sure I wasn’t crazy when I had read the website, then she let out a big sigh and asked me if it would make me happy if she just charged me the price I was expecting. I realized I wasn’t going to get any further with this lady, so I just said yes. After processing my credit card, she slapped down the receipt and a pen with a lot of attitude. After a few more awkward exchanges, she quite fakely told me to have a nice day.
Ultimately I did get what I wanted in terms of price, but I didn’t go to the salon to get stressed and argued with… I went to relax and enjoy the service! Overall the styling experience was good but the service I received at the front was pretty terrible. Unfortunately, it overshadowed the positive part of the experience.

Went in for a spray tan before a wedding. This spot was a convenient location close enough to our hotel and the extended hours were perfect for my schedule.
The staff was very friendly and professional.
I was escorted to a private room with the technician. She did not leave the room while I undressed… a little different than what I am used to at my usual tanning salon at home.
They did not have the cream to prevent spraying my palms, feet and cuticles as I am used to as well.
The technician moved slowly and sprayed air on each area to dry it. Was not the most even spray tan I have had and missed a couple spots but it worked well enough for the wedding.
I would go there again in the future.

Such a fabulous place to get any service done. I always feel so pampered when I come here. Kristi is my stylist and she does everything exactly the way I want! Love her! This salon sells great products too and they get to know you. It’s a great salon!

I have always had great experiences at Gloss. Full disclosure, I only go for spray tans. All technicians I’ve worked with there have been professional, tailored the service to me, and delivered great tans. I have not used any other esthetic or beauty service here.

This review is for Jordan in the spa of Gloss. I recently had my eyelash extentions done at Gloss by Jordan. She was polite, professional and her work was amazing. She knowledgable about the product and experienced in th craft. Better yet my «fill» only took 45 minutes! Highly recommend. I havent recieved any other services at Gloss, but the salon is clean and the staff professional.

If you want your pocket book to get violated this is your place. If you like paying for services that are not rendered… this is your place. I took my daughter here and the staff was very nice, but they did not do a good job at all. For what they charge you can have other places in town do the same thing for a third of the cost. Was not impressed.

I was visiting a sorority sister in Omaha in the middle of another round of midwest snow. A trip to Gloss for mani-​pedis was her solution to the winter blues.
Fantastic spot, very cozy. We had both our manicures and pedicures in private rooms with just the two of us. Service was great and I loved the polish selections they had.
I’ll definitely return again if I’m in Omaha again!

Gloss offers a variety of hair and spa treatments. I just got back from my first facial ever and found a new addiction! Rebecca at Gloss is fantastic! She does a nice job of explaining the process and recommending treatments, but she doesn’t push to sale additional services or products. She’s likeable and gave a very relaxing facial. I would highly recommend her!
I’ve also had pedicures there. Again, I like Rebecca – an enjoyable experience and nice final product. The pedis are a bit on the pricey side for what they include, though. Still, I keep going back.
I’ve gotten hair cuts from a couple different folks there. Reasonable prices, decent cuts.
All in all, a nice salon to check out.
