I had to get a haircut on very short notice for a special event and my usual stylist wasn’t available. When I made the appointment I was simply looking for anyone who was available and I was desperate, so I took the risk. I walked in and figured the salon was a co-op of some kind, where stylists rent a chair, and didn’t think anything of it. My hairdresser was quick with her work, but there were a few small problems. I simply needed to trim my split ends and get bangs to below my eyebrow, a very simple and fast job. I don’t know how much haircuts should cost for the quality, but for the $ 43 I paid(tip included) the end result looked a little messy. I have straight hair that’s easy to trim, but she didn’t even measure to see if both sides of my bangs were even. As a result, one side of bangs is longer than the other, and while it’s quirky it’s sloppy to not evenly cut a client’s hair. Secondly she barely talked, which made the whole experience awkward and unwelcoming. For that price, I won’t be going back. They should screen their leasees better.

Somewhat interesting ‘industrial fashion’ atmosphere. The stylists here are nice and they typically have cookies available while you wait. Everyone that works here is essentially self-employed. Because there isn’t a ‘front counter’ everyone makes their own appointments and has their own clients. I started going to hair tech because I’m one of those people who’s had the same person cut their hair since childhood(except when I was living out of town and forced to slum it with someone else).
