If you’re looking for a small dive with $ 4 drinks that are super strong and a nice long bar to sit at, this is your place. Rob the owner is a sweetheart, and mary, the redhead bartender is a mind-​reading beverage wizard. You are in good hands at this place.

My first visit to this famous neighborhood bar was a fundraiser for improvement of a nearby park. Gracious hosts, charming vintage interior, great live music, complimentary shot of cinnamon whiskey and the smell of roasting pig. Well done Jerry’s. Great way to support the neighborhood.

It’s hard to beat a great dive bar. And even among dive bars, Jerry’s is hard to beat. Nestled a little off the beaten path in downtown Benson, Jerry’s is one of the places that you’ve driven past a hundred times but never really noticed.
Aside from a nice little patio for the smokers, the inside is dark and full of vintage beer schwag — like old animated Hamm’s signs, PBR and Budweiser light fixtures, etc., etc. You can tell not much has been changed in, well, decades. Add in some vinyl booths with duct tape on the seats, and you have the recipe for a perfect dive — especially when you realize they have way more than Bud, Bud Light and Coors on tap. In fact, there’s quite a variety of European and craft beers available on tap and in bottles.
It was a warm, Saturday afternoon when the wife and I came here. We even had a pizza delivered to us from the Pizza Shoppe. While we only stayed for a little while, we couldn’t stayed all night.
Marq M said this is a place to be for Husker games? Hmm. Might have to check that out in the fall.

Jerry’s bar is awesome. I’ve really become a fan since trying it during Omaha Beer Week 2014. The first time coming here I was pretty skeptical. It’s in a little sketchy of a spot, my mom who grew up in Benson thought there was no way there was a Beer Week event at Jerry’s.
I arrived and walked in with my buddy, dressed pretty hipsterish and my buddy dressed like he just got done with a college class. There was 3 or 4 locals drinking PBR and a few more by the door and that was it. We sat down between the two groups so we had some space and ordered our beers (at the time, a Beer Week special from Zipline). I was astonished to see not only 5 taps with Miller, Bud, and Busch Light, Budweiser, and Hoegaarden, BUT 12 more taps! They had multiple craft beers from our own Storz (technically Lincoln’s), ZipLine, Sierra Nevada, New Belgium, Summit, Tallgrass and several others.
I couldn’t believe it, and when the owner, Rob came over and talked to us he confirmed my thoughts. He bought the bar two years ago and has worked super hard at turning it into a craft beer bar. Since this bar is right on the outskirts of Benson, it caters to the hipster crowd (/​beer snob crowd/​me), and the locals who have come here for twenty years. He’s been in touch with all the local breweries and always has good stuff on tap. There’s a jukebox and some TVs as well as booths to sit in. I’ve only been able to make it late at night, but I bet this place is packed during the early night time. I’ll keep coming back to Jerry’s and I hope his business continues to grow.

Great off the beaten path dive. Stopped there on the 2014 Craft Beer Tour. Very nice bartenders. Loved hearing the history and info on the beers and the massive amounts of American Harvest Vodka! Thank you for making our stop there awesome. Got to try the new Iron Maiden beer– good stuff! The nostalgic beer items in the place was pretty cool. Good tunes as well.

Lots of old Hamm’s signs behind the bar. Lots of regulars blatantly staring at me when I walked in. The bartender was friendly at least and they have Powers behind the bar. Handy. Loud, cramped, convivial.
All the men had beards.

Home base in Benson… comfortable neighborhood bar with a great staff and owner. Always trying new liquors and beer… plus they have an amazing Bloody Mary. This is Benson’s home of The Huskers where fans of all ages come to shout GO BIG RED!

this bar has been around for a while now was a ok place to go but since Rob purchased this place it has turned into an awesome neighborhood bar. Great employees that welcome everyone like you are welcoming you into their homes.

It’s a bar. Excellent selection of craft beer on tap. If a bar has more than one IPA, then I trust they know a little something about beer. Bonus was that no one beat me up.

Great dive bar just off the beaten path in Benson. This place is really under the radar, so much so that apparently the smoking ban does not apply.
