I have been seeing Dr. Brewer for several years. He is great! He is very professional. They have the most up to date technology. I have never been anywhere that I received such a thorough exam. They have a fantastic selection of eyewear that is of excellent quality. There is a vast range of frame prices. If you are into Designer Frames, this is the place to go. I suggest you pay for the charge for the tests that are not in a routine exam. I think it was $ 30 or $ 35. They get a picture of the inside eyeball. Dr. Brewer will explain all of the blood vessels and what they may indicate.

I stopped in this morning to look at new eye glasses. Reception was very welcoming. They paired me with a stylist that made an ominous job of selecting frames easy and fun. There was no pressure, she just guided me through their huge selection of brands and styles. Great service! Great quality and warranty! Would definitely recommend to others! They also have a variety of payment options which I very much appreciate. I was treated like I was the only customer in the store. I couldn’t be more pleased!

We recently moved from Omaha to Chicago and have had to see three different optometrists in Illinois for routine eyecare. Not one of the optometrists we have seen in Illinois comes close to being as good as Dr. Brewer and Legacy Eyecare’s staff. Legacy uses the most up-to-date technology to check your eyes and to fit your glasses. The last time my daughter, 10, had to have glasses, she took an hour to pick out her frames. The staff do not complained about how long it took. They just patiently kept bringing her frames and letting her try them on. When my oldest child had spots in her eyes, Dr. Brewer referred us to a specialist. When she decided she wanted contacts, Dr. Brewer fitted them and the staff patiently helped her learn to wear them. I cannot thank Dr. Brewer and his staff enough for all the excellent service we had with them for the five years we lived in Omaha. I highly recommend Legacy to anyone who needs glasses or contacts. I would go back if it just wasn’t so far!

I am a very picky client/patient and I like to Unilocal. That is the way we privilege good professionals over bad. I never come back to places that are just and only after my money or that do not have great doctors. Said that, I have been client of Lakeside for about 2 years, since when they were the other side of the West Center. I picked doctor Brewer in the internet, by checking on reviews. He has been very polite and professional with me and with my husband. He is very thorough and takes time to explains every thing he finds in the tests — your eyes, your general health, etc. Yes, there is a test with an extra charge but they inform you that in advance and they let you know how much it is as well. I had this test in another place before and I paid apart, same thing. This time I had to make new lenses, but they never pushed me. After the exam, I said I’d like to see the frames and have an idea of the price. My attendant was very kind and showed me frames and broke down the price of all. Fortunately I have a great insurance that would cover for a lot of it, still it coasted the same as the one I made about 3 years ago in another place, so, nothing to complain. Frame wise, I noticed they have more price options in this new place than they had in the previous one, what is great. we can pick from regular brands to the very expansive one. So far, so good, I will keep going and recommend.

If you want a nice place that looks great this is the place to go. However, if you value service over appearance run in the opposite direction. In my recent visit I was belittled by the optometrist(Dr. Brewer) and was miserable through my whole appointment. He questioned if I even knew what kind of contact lenses I wore, and told me my Ray Bans were garbage even though they are a retailer for them? I don’t care if you think a product sucks, but don’t turn around and sell it in your lobby as if you support it. As far as the contacts go, of course I know what lenses I wear; I’ve only been wearing the same brand for 10 years. When the exam was finished I was taken to the lobby to order new glasses since my prescription had changed. Dr. Brewer had taken it upon himself to just upgrade everything on my glasses and the lady ordering them for me had the audacity to not even ask if I wanted all of the upgrades. It was only when she told me my bill would be $ 600 that I questioned the charges and made her break them down. After the fiasco with the glasses I went ahead and ordered my contacts online. However, when the online place tried to process my order Dr. Brewer denied it. I had to call and spend and extra 20 minutes trying to figure out why my prescription that I received three days prior was no longer in my chart. Not only do I not appreciate being belittled, I also don’t appreciate being taken advantage of and being charged extra because someone thinks they can get away with it. Dr. Brewer is absolutely unprofessional and only looks after his own bottom line instead of the quality of his patient care and satisfaction. I will NEVER return to this facility.

My full review is listed on their other listing with a different address. Review in a nutshell, like anything; one bad experience can negate 10 past great experiences, which is the case here. Would have previously provided a 5 star review, but now turned 1 star and a loss of 2 current clients. Great new facility though.
