When I first heard about this place I was thinking, «Mexican Seafood?» but then I went there and it all made perfect sense. I ordered the Mixed and the Crab Tostadas and was not disappointed. The ceviche sauce with the seafood mixture was a pure delight. The $ 5 Tostada was enough for a good meal. A funky little food truck, north side of Q St., is the place to find one of Omaha’s best kept secrets. Once I learn to read a little better Spanish, I will have to try a few other items on their menu.

This place was fantastic. A small circus type tent, with folding chairs and with music playing. We got all the tacos, marisco tostada and a camerones tostada. The tostadas are cold ceviche style, but the tacos are hot. Highly recommend,

Hands down the best fish taco I’ve ever had. And the best shrimp taco as well. We came here as stop No. 3 on the taco tour. Our group was large, the line was long and the heat was really beating down on our shoulders. Mexican polka music was blaring from an empty building next door. This empty building was also where this little food truck’s bathrooms were located — yes, a food truck that offers bathrooms(customers only). They also had a large canopy and several tables and chairs set up. Quite the operation! While our group seemed to overwhelm the crew of three(two adults to cook and a child to take orders), they eventually got our food out, even if it was discombobulated and was often served half an order at a time. I was last to get my tacos, but they were magical — that’s saying something as I had already chomped down on a couple tacos at each of the two previous taco tour locations. Anyway, the corn tortillas were oh, so slightly crisped, the fish was chopped up and lightly breaded, all topped with a creamy slaw. The same thing went for the shrimp taco, just swap out pescado for cameron. Really, I was about to give them five stars based on the food alone. But taking the overall experience into consideration, I don’t think it’s deserved as they initially flubbed quite a few of our orders. Plus there was a child working. Mariscos Los Willy’s is probably a family run small business, but that little boy should’ve been outside playing with the rest of the kids in his neighborhood rather than taking orders cooped up inside a claustrophobic food truck.

Picnic style! Tent and chairs and Mexican music– you get an extra star from me for«patio seating». Street tacos are incredible! Know a little bit of Spanish(but they do have the American words on the chalkboard) Between the 3 of us, we got 4 chicken tacos, 2 fish tacos, 1 shrimp, and 3 steak. Slam dunk on ALL of them! They have coke in the bottle, and other beverages. No alcohol, but thats ok, apprently you are not supposed to drink at lunch??? Will for sure go back! Cheap and delicious.

Shout out to Dale, who has mentioned Mariscos Los Willy’s to me several times, and just this week I finally wrote it down on a Post-It note. I took that note to our Unilocal Burger Brigade dinner where I told Matt M. all about it. Matt was as quickly enamored with this place as Dale(who originally discovered it by scooter happenstance — i.e. Food Fate) and has been back twice in as many days. I think he also has plans to go again today… Last night, I finally made it down with some of the usual suspects and somehow ended up out of my element in a whole new delicious world. It pays off big time to go rogue sometimes. This place isn’t searchable on Unilocal(yet, though Matt has since added it), has a personal Facebook page(but no company page), isn’t on Urbanspoon(yet, I just added it) and is pretty much totally absent on Google. The most interesting tidbits I was able to find came from a flyer on Facebook that reads something like this(thanks Google translate and my shaky recollection of 5 years of Spanish): #1 for Seafood Omaha — Shrimp Aguachile specialists — 100% Sinaloa-style seafood. Fish Tacos: Wednesday buy 3 and get the 4th free! Hours: Wednesday to Monday 9:30 am — 9pm. Located at: 3216 Q Street, Omaha, NE68107 Lesson learned though, ordering something just because it’s on special from a food truck where the menu is not in English may not be something I should gravitate to — at least before Googling some things first. I knew about 12 of the words on the menu board upon arrival. Luckily I’m not intimidated enough to NOT order or eat food from a truck where I only understand 54% of the menu and can’t easily communicate with the person taking orders. Then I proceeded to eat what looked like raw shrimp and scallops. Living on the wild side in Omaha! The special in question was the Aguachiles. At $ 15.00 it seemed like something that HAD to be tried. A $ 15 food cart menu item? We had to find out what it was… Turns out it was raw shrimp(and later, scallops), brined and cured in a concoction of lime juice with peppers and spices, served with onions and cucumbers. A quick Google search would have revealed that easily. And, for the record, it wasn’t ‘technically’ raw… the citric acid in the juice«cooks» the fish, without changing its«raw» taste. Anyway, it looked raw. Tasted good though. That wasn’t really my favorite dish(though according to the flier this is their expertise). In any case, our group wasn’t really hesitant about digging in. The other items we sampled knocked it out of the park though. Like the Tostadas Mixtas: a tostada loaded up with amazing cerviche including shrimp, fish, octopus, and probably other sea-dwelling animals; or the Pescado(fish) tacos. Also the Camaron(shrimp) tacos. Where are they getting this seafood, because it was all crazy delicious. And perfect for those hot summer days coming up where you don’t feel like cooking. There’s seating outside with a covered tent, and plenty of festive music to go along with your meal. This will definitely be added to our restaurant rotation — and next time I’ll come a bit more prepared, though you have to be willing to go with the flow a bit here. Also, maybe this should go without saying, but it’s CASH only folks. And brushing up on your espanol ahead of time will only help when it comes time to order.

This food truck is in my hood but for some reason it took a tip from Sarah G for me to find it. The food was awesome and the people are very nice. I ordered two shrimp tacos and a fish ceviche tostada. Both were absolutely delicious. They have a area set up by the truck with tables and chairs and there is a kwik shop really close to grab that tall boy of Modelo to wash it all down. This place is a real gem and one of the few places to good good ceviche in this town.
